When I first relocated to Sydney, I struggled to find a spa sort of like Goldilocks checking out bear chairs. I’m happy to say that I’ve visited both locations of Ayurve, and the service is great, the place is clean and relaxing and the rates aren’t outrageous. I mainly book waxing(facial) and spray tans here, but am considering them for my remaining laser hair removal. The fact that I’d be willing to entrust these guys with a hot laser near my lady parts should speak to their relability. :) Also, no offense to the previous reviewer, but as a thirty-something gal who has been getting facials for a while, sometimes they are supposed to hurt a little. Anyone who has ever suffered through the pain of lengthy extractions can attest to this. Pain is beauty, yo.

I’ve been here only once and its highly unlikely I will return. I was on the lookout for a reputable beautician/day spa in the Sydney CBD and to tell you truth, I found this place via Google not from any personal recommendations. So I should have known better… I went in for an Ayurvedic facial which starts at $ 105 for a 60min treatment, so its quite pricey! I was expecting a lot from this facial to tell you the truth ;) The salon itself is actually quite nice, its dark, warm, and the treatment room had a relaxing atmosphere unlike some other places which feel quite clinical. The facial started off well with the typical cleansing, toning and hot towel routine. But then the beautician starting hitting my face. Ok, maybe hitting is not the right word, more like patting… but really hard! It was to the point where I starting flinching. This was not the relaxing facial that I was looking for. So from this one experience I would not return. For $ 100+ I would have expected much, much more and I didn’t get it.
