I went to Feast for the buffet lunch on Saturday. Amazing, can’t recommend highly enough! The best buffet I’ve been to in years, perhaps ever.

This place used to be a 5⁄5 rated place in my books but it hasn’t made even 4 stars in the last few years. I’ve been coming to the Sheraton for the seafood feast since 2009. Over the last few years I have seen the quality of the food decline. It was once pretty much perfect, a great assortment of quality seafood, roasts and desserts, but the seafood in particular has been declining as of late, the various savoury dishes have started to taste more and more bland, the salads, breads and cheeses are still the same as they have always been, the desserts are a little hit and miss but that depends on how well behaved the other guests are on the day and how quickly the desserts are replenished. The wait staff have consistently been most helpful so at least that service is still top notch. Another gripe I have noticed is for years and years I’ve been able to leave my cars parked out the front of the foyer as they simply can not get down their steep tight driveway and it also makes the hotel look more elegant when there are expensive Italian Supercars parked out the front of the hotel entrance, I don’t feel comfortable having them parked in a public parking station where absent minded/jealous people can and have damaged my vehicles, now they don’t allow you to leave your cars out the front anymore under the supervision of the valet personnel. I gave in once and took the Bentley as it’s the only one of my cars that can safely make it down their twisty car park driveway, payed $ 75 for«valet service» which was all good when I arrived and they took the car, but when it was time to leave, you have to go to reception, pay the«valet service» they give you a ticket, and instead of getting your car from where you dropped it off, you are required to go down stairs into the car park, find where somebody else has parked your car(it’s extremely frustrating aimlessly wandering around a car park looking for your car where you don’t know where it was parked by someone else) and once you find it, try and exit the car park yourself. I do fail to see what the«valet service» is? You pay $ 75 for half a valet service job, the whole point of valet service is you don’t worry about the parking and retrieval of your car… I hope the food experience and the added extras(parking issues) are resolved soon.

Let’s be honest — if you’re coming here to have the buffet, you’ve probably starved yourself the whole day. Don’t worry, I’m not judging, I’m agreeing. Always reserve a table beforehand, it will make proceedings go much smoother. The staff are nice and friendly just as you expect from a five star hotel. But let’s get serious and talk about the food. I love seafood so much and nothing makes me happier than seeing oysters freshly shucked and crabs over ice. Only little compliant I have is sometimes bits of shells get into the oyster(probably due to the fact they’re stacked on top of each other). But I can overlook that because the balmain bugs, prawns and lobster that are there makes up for it. Moving on to the hot food, which changes every time you visit here, it really doesn’t disappoint(though in my case, I’ve already eaten a few dozen oysters so I’m starting to slow down). They have this whole cooked salmon, which was perfectly cooked and oh so yummy and their roast beef is always on point. Lastly, the dessert bar. Re-read that last sentence. This is the best part of the night. The cheesecakes, the triple layer chocolate mousse cake, the crème brûlée, the incredible panna cotta’s, the pavlova. SOMEONEHELPME! Seriously, if you aren’t sold on coming, I don’t know what else to say. So start saving(it’s quite pricy, at $ 85 a head) and come here to indulge. I don’t know you personally but it seems like you’ve deserved this!

After trying over a dozen buffets in Sydney i can honestly say this is the best one I’ve been to in Sydney in terms of quality, variety & value for the price per head. If you’re a big fan of seafood like i am that’s definitely their specialty both fresh and cooked. I personally stock up on oysters, prawns, lobsters and i tried my first seafood chowder there that was amazing i went back for several bowls! Bonus is if you’re a SPG member you get around 15% discount ;)

By far the best buffet restaurant I’ve ever been to. Very expensive but so worth it. The seafood is as fresh as anything and the desserts are to die for!

This restaurant deserves every star rating given to it. Today(as at the time of writing this) was the third time I have eaten at this restaurant, since claiming fame from the old Botanica Brasserie back in 2012. It is clear that Sheraton on the Park are clearly putting an abundance of effort into the presentation, service and food quality of this restaurant. Find yourself in the foyer of this popular, luxury hotel, and head up the stairs to level 1. Then you’re in food paradise for either lunch or dinner. To keep the whole experience exciting, this restaurant adopts a theme for specific times of the year. For example, right now(again, as at the time of writing this) they’ve adopted a «Christmas in July» theme. The buffet areas are decorated with gingerbread houses, and of course santa. For starters, I arrived and sat near a window with impeccable views of gorgeous Hyde Park. I was given this experience as a gift to celebrate a recent university and life accomplishment, and my boyfriend came along with me, although he was held up with a client at work. Drinks wise, I enjoyed a bottle of Santa Vittoria sparkling. Great attention to detail was paid. As the glasses were running on empty, the staff poured us some top ups. I also enjoyed two glasses on Moet and Chandon. The latter was a perfect accompaniment with my entrée — naturally some fresh seafood. I’ve always(and recently re-confirmed) enjoyed their oysters and prawns. There was even a gluten free vinaigrette oyster, with a nice mellow flavour. All the props to wash ones hands afterwards were there. The mains encompassed a real Christmas(hearty) roast theme. Saw some pork crackling, and it looked divine. I went for some fish, chicken, vegetables and pumpkin, together with some mussels. The cous cous looked amazing. My boyfriend devoured his mains, and even went back for seconds. Have never seen him so passionate about food, even though he appreciates fine dining as equally as I do. Before dessert, I used my side dish to grab a couple more oysters and prawns. So glad I did. Perfection, freshness and quality without needing any sauces and lemon wedges to dazzle it up. The desserts were also amazing. Loved the passionfruit cake, as well as a pavlova like wafer dish. Enjoyed the fruit truffles. There were even some beautiful mince pies available for the taking. It is easy to fill yourself up at buffets, yet at Feast Restaurant at Sheraton on the Park, the experience is rather civilised with awesome ambience intertwined. You come here a bit hungry(advised), however you leave here feeling just right and not bloated. Anything you want, the staff will do as much as they can to go the extra mile for you. Finishing off with a café latte(my man ordered the skinny latte) was an amazing way to finish off an amazing hour of lunch. Worth taking time away from the office and clinic for. Bliss. Heavenly bliss. NB:Trading hours featured in this review are for the lunch service.
