Ibis World Square

Booked this place through a recommendation from our travel agent as it was close to train station etc… This is literary the only thing going for it! Room was tiny, old, dirty, no storage space… I’m glad we only booked 1 night because we couldn’t have stayed even a second longer.
Beware — this Ibis has no car parking but will offer you a discounted rate of $ 50 per day at the Wilsons carpark across the street, which is a maze to get in and out of. You also can’t take your car out once in there till the next day if you want the rate. We inquired about other places to park and were told there was none, the day we left we found a carpark less than a block away that charged $ 25 for day/​night!

Probably one of the worst hotels I have ever been to. Everything about this place is sketchy. The rooms are in bad shape — the curtains, walls, floors, etc. are all in dirty condition. The place is the size of a small dorm room and that might be generous.
You have to place your key card in the slot by the light switch to get all of the lights to work. I have never seen this before so I was even more shocked when I was looked at like I am an idiot when I inquired with the front desk.
I can give this place 1 star because it is in a prime location to the central and town hall train stops. This is critical so you can get the hell away. This place closely resembles the hourly hotel next door.
Stay away and pay $ 50 – 100 more for a decent hotel.

We arrived in Sydney after a 14 hour flight… and our hosts had reserved, and paid for, 6 nights lodging at this hotel. I literally cried myself to sleep the first night. I felt like I had committed some horrendous crime and had been sentenced to 6 days in this shitbox. The room is outdated, the size of a postage stamp, no drawers, not even luggage racks. Nasty, old curtains, and noisy, to boot. You couldn’t pay me to stay there. Kudos to the manager for giving us the money back (not the policy) and setting us free…
