Best beach in Sydney. It’s a huge beach with a fraction of the crowd of Bondi and Coogee. A hand full of cafes to choose from, a nice pub with good food and a place called Beverage Depot that I always get my coffee from. A couple Thai places, couple burger joints, couple pizza places and a fish n chips. Considering you don’t have to pay for parking and even on the busiest days it’s chill compared to the other beaches, I don’t see why more people don’t come to Maroubra on weekdays.

One of the nicest and least crowded beach in Sydney. Its like a smaller version of Bondi beach minus the crowd. I live close by around 5 minutes walk and I love coming here on a nice sunny day. Its just peaceful and tranquil. The wave is also pretty safe for the kids. Not as rough ad Bronte. I would recommend this beach to anyone especially family with kids. I come here almost everyday during spring and summer. And usually in the afternoon in fall. Also, theres a really nice bar if you want to grab some food.

I love Maroubra. It’s a long, big, beautiful beach, much like Bondi, but without all the posers, tourists, traffic or parking hassles… SHHHH!!! Don’t tell anybody! I come here in the middle of the day because I can just cruise up Gardener’s Road with no hassles and find a parking spot in under 15 minutes, and guess what? You can stay for 4 hours… FORFREE!!! No parking meters. Park 5 minutes walk away and you don’t even have a time limit. I also love it cause it feels like its not even in Sydney. It could be down the coast near Wollongong. Or maybe like Bondi in the 80s! Its so underdeveloped, but that is all of its charm. It does have cafes and fish and chips shops, of course, and the old RSL… but not much else. Its very, very unpretentious. And sometimes that’s exactly what you need. I can’t fault it!

One of the largest, yet least commercially developed beaches in Sydney. And the locals like to keep it this way. There are some rumours of surf gangs trawling this area, but it’s probably still safe enough. Just steer clear of anyone who seems to be working age yet has time to sit around and watch the beach from his car. Very popular with surfers as it is one of the more windy beaches. There are beachvolleyball courts but you may only use them if you passed a 6 week course. There are also free BBQs available.
