Best coffee in QVB and great place to sit and watch the world go by. Coffee isn’t the most«progressive«of brands but it’s consistent and well made and will appeal to those of you who are sick of single origin coffees that taste like sour pineapple.

They serve best Ice Chocolate. Try the Egg Benedict for breakfast and also the Chicken Club sandwich. Awesome!

When you walk past a selection of cakes and pastries in glass cabinets in the middle of the QVB sometimes it’s really hard to pass up. If that’s all you’re looking for then Metropole is your place. Their homemade pastries include various flavours of cronuts and other various croissant hybrids and they bake all the croissants on site so they are always fresh. They also sell cinnamon scrolls from Oregano Bakery and they are potentially the best tasting scrolls out there. Metropole you get 3 stars for your pastries and for your service which is pretty good. The staff are always super friendly and the food and coffees are speedy which is great if you’re on the go! Unfortunately if you’re looking for something any more substantial than a delicious pastry snack(did I mention the cinnamon scrolls? You need to eat one) then I wouldn’t bother with this place. The food is just average but the coffee is alright however pretty expensive, though given the area it’s not a surprise.

I was dying for a coffee so I thought that a café in a flash shopping place like the QVB would produce quality coffee. Now I know that cappuccino is an art to make but when a cappuccino tastes flatter that a flat white, that coffee is shit. Five dollars for a large cup of shit? I don’t think so. I had no pleasure from that coffee at all.

Was in the city extremely early 7am. I don’t get out of bed till 7.30 ish! Had an hour to kill so decided breakfast would be best. Since it was raining and i couldn’t be bothered walking far i decided to go to QVB as they have a few places to choose from. I was surprised this place was not on Unilocal yet! There were only a few people sitting so decided i would prefer a quiet place anyways. Ordered a cappuccino with the breakfast bruschetta with ricotta, mushrooms, tomato, avocado and a poached egg. Service was good. However, Coffee and food was a bit of a letdown. Who knows maybe it was not their best day. I generally don’t like to give 2 starts. So will have to revisit in future to hopefully update this review!
