I love me anything corned, pickled or brined. Chuck a bag of buttons in a jar of vinegar to marinate and I’ll eat those things like Skittles. So I was looking forward to the Not Reuben at this place, and when I hit Westfield level 5 on a Friday lunchtime I was ready for some sweet sweet Reuben action that would leave me drooling and speechless for the next few hours. And, hey, it was okay, and the guys next to me were almost sliding off their stools in rapturous pleasure eating theirs, but it didn’t quite scratch my itch. Would have preferred my bread toasted not soft and floppy, and there wasn’t quite enough slaw-y crunch or vinegar zing to the whole thing to set my world on fire. Get the chips and gravy though.

Lunchtime hunger pains got the better of me and my partner and we headed to the food court at Westfield. We both felt like a nice sandwich and came across this swish looking place. We decided to order and share a couple of sandwiches in the cabinet that were pre-made. One was ham cheese and salad in mutligrain bread, and the other was turkey and salad in white bread. The service was relatively prompt, however the sandwiches were NOT what we were expecting for $ 11 each. The multigrain bread was the most stale bread I’ve ever seen. I had to check multiple times for mould. It actually became unbearable and I just ate the filling(I was quite hungry). We were surrounded by corporate workers enjoying burgers and reuben sandwiches on their lunch break which looked amazing. It amazes me that the staff here cannot prepare a simple ham or turkey sandwich. Interesting that the sandwiches came with a handful of potato crisps on the plate. I would have just preferred a proper sandwich, which I can get close to home for about $ 2.50 from the local bakery. Will not be returning.

I’m a fan — corned beef(wagyu no less) on rye with sauerkraut and pickles and mustard and… more. There is no downside to a great sanger at this place, our regular haunt in the Westfields food court. I have also had the pulled pork(excellent) and a roast plate(also excellent). I mean, let’s not forget, its\‘s a food court, right? So it ain’t fine dining, but it is good grub.

I just had the Reuben Sandwich, and bought some chips elsewhere. Mistake! This sandwich is a beast! Tons of meat, sauerkraut and other elements add up to a good sized lunch.

No doubt you’ve seen Reuben and Moore, it’s centre stage at the new food court in Westfield Pitt Street Mall. I couldn’t resist ordering the roast crackling pork and apple sauce, except this time it came in a sandwich. I also couldn’t resist ordering from the good-looking foreign(French?) guy with a cheeky wink at the front counter. Great atmosphere and great service to have lunch. I had a little difficulty eating the sandwich, the pork was a little tough and the bread a little too soft that it kept falling out the sides and breaking apart. But don’t think that I didn’t tackle the thing properly. I usually like apple sauce when I have pork, but this time it just turned out messy that I wasn’t enjoying it. The food was decent, I mean it wasn’t the best pork I’d ever eaten, and it was difficult to get my mouth around. I just might have to try the beef or chicken next time.
