Pancakes On The Rocks

We went on a friday morning and we had really fast service and the food was the best for the price! Recommend!

Pancakes on the rocks had such big hype about it I knew I had to try and had high hopes !! They did not dissapoint the pancakes were soft and fluffy (melt in your mouth) although a little too big (better to share). I ordered the chocolate surprise and vanilla pancakes and my friend ordered the same with some wedges (odd combo :)) We mistakenly filled up on the wedges which were crunchy, cripsy and more than I expected. There wasn’t too much of a wait and we recieved our pancakes with delicious syrup on top. Wasn’t too pricey and we were in and out pretty fast. Definetely go try — especially on hangover sunday’s

The ultimate and the only place to go after a heavy night of drinking. Every Sydney-​sider has, at least once, been heavily intoxicated, with the thought crossing their mind, «Pancakes on the Rocks is a good idea!» (or else been dragged there by someone with that thought).
Yes, the food, décor, service, prices are all meh. But if you’re looking to extend the partying and feel like pancakes, this is the place to be. Love their original maple syrup crepes.

Walked in and saw the menu! I will say for a variety the price were awesome. The waitress was very friendly and nice. It was funny I ordered an egg with mozzarella cheese and mushroom, in the states it would be included in the egg but I received it on the side. No worries, it was good and sautéed for me. The pancakes were yummy and I had a flat white.
I would definitely come back again especially for the cheap price and adequate amount of food you receive.

Good place for American’s needing their pancake fix either while on holiday or while living in Sydney, but still not as good as back home. Since this is the only pancake house in the area there is always a line, but it goes fairly quickly so don’t worry too much.

I had high expectations since a lot of people are recommending this place. I walked away very disappointed.
We came in on a Friday night but we were seated right away. We ordered a Bananarama pancake, which looked yummy but the taste was just not there. We also ordered the pork ribs and we chose barbeque sauce. Let me tell you that I can make a much better barbeque ribs at home and I’m not the best cook! It was flavorless, I don’t even think they put salt on it. Seems to me they just cooked a slab of ribs in the oven and just brushed a few drops of store-​bought barbeque sauce on it.
Guys, you’re better off spending your money elsewhere.

Service slow, pancakes sat in the kitchen and were cold, Bacon and extra coffee we ordered came after we are finished with our pancakes. Two requests to pay our bill. Enough said?

Bad by American standards. The pancakes are subpar. An IHOP in the U.S. does a better job. Even with ice cream the pancake was not that tasty. Not fluffy. Not moist. Not even a good chocolate flavor. Bisquick would make a better pancake.

We had breakfast here and really enjoyed it. The service was very friendly and food was enjoyable. Great coffee and shakes. Lovely area to walk around and check out too.

It was ok but doesn’t quite live up to its hype.

Great pancakes — fluffly light slightly spongy. Slightly bare décor — better for a group or family than a date!

I haven’t been to this place since I don’t know when. I think almost 3 or 4 years ago since I saw a cockroaches running around my leg.
Tonight I gave it a chance since my sister force me to give her company to satisfy her guilty pleasure about «Devils delight», those chocolate pancake!
Well, we came just before 12, and I saw this place was empty. What’s going on? Not like the pancake place that I used to remember, packed and wait for sometimes to get seated.
We did ordered pork ribs … (wrong decision !)
And Devils delight, both to share.
Pork ribs came with 3 different sauces, barbecue, teriyaki (what the hell?) and honey glazed.
We chose Barbecue Sauce.
Those ribs are TERRIBLE!
For $ 33 price tag, it was overcooked (off course it will fall of the bone easily), salty and no flavor at all!
The chocolate pancake was horrible too. Lack of umps that food should be. Bit heavy for my taste bud and eggy. It was unpleasant to eat
BTW, the video music that playing also really back to 90’s, nothing wrongs with that, but to me it seems like the owner wants to remember the good old days when business is pumping cash for them…

Mediocre food. Cheap eats around the area. Service is alright… Very busy on a Friday night. Recommend ordering the pancake! Yummy!

Good Breakfast place, first time I had ice crème as a topping on my pancakes, I highly recommend this place.

You’re here because it is 3am and you’re really drunk.
Order whichever pancakes you manage to focus your eyes on and sit down. Stay seated until you’ve sobered up enough to get a taxi or train home.
Try not to drink too much next time.

One word can describe my experience here… Awful.
I learnt, after complaining about how bland my meal was that all pancakes, crêpes, and most of the fillings are received by the restaurant frozen and pre-​made!
I merely provided feedback, with no intentions of receiving a free meal, but they comped our drinks, and gave a wordy [unnecessary] lecture…
My advice, make your own pancakes/​crêpes at home.

Sydney’s version of an Ihop or Pancake House, Pancakes on the Rocks is delicious. The restaurant is located in The Rocks area of Circular Quay under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was a bit hard to find for a tourist like me but I eventually found the restaurant just in time for breakfast.
The place gets busy. You will probably have to wait for a table even though the restaurant itself has two stories. Tons of tourist!
The menu consists of mainly breakfast dishes. Order one of the specialty pancake dishes and order a breakfast dish. The pancake dishes are huge.
Service was decent. The restaurant was clean and I loved their breakfast and specialty pancakes!

Look to be completely honest I only come to Pancakes on the Rocks late at night after work because I’m hungry and I’m with friends or colleagues and we want more wine and dessert. I’ve only ever had dessert pancakes from here so I can’t comment on whether or not the rest of the food is good but they do make a mean pancake and crêpe. I’ve never had a bad one here which is good for a restaurant specialising in pancakes! I give them three stars because the service, even when not busy, is ridiculously slow. Tonight the lady took our drink order and came back 20mins later to take our food order and there were only 10 other people in the restaurant.
The best thing about this place is that it is open ²⁴⁄₇.

BUTTERMILK PANCAKES. THEY’RE SO FLUFFY I’M GONNA DIE!!! For first timers, I recommend just getting the simple stack. No need for ice cream or syrup or any of that fancy shwancy (and overpriced) stuff.
The chocolate pancakes are super dense and reminded me of flattened out brownies. I LOVE chocolate, but they were still a bit toooo much for me.
The other food here is just okay. Nothing extraordinary and nothing you can’t get at any other café.
Overall three stars because honestly, it’s a touristy place and the only thing I truly enjoyed were the buttermilk pancakes. That being said, COME HERE AT LEAST ONCE!

Yummii :) Mehr gibt es dazu nicht zusagen! Das Pancakes on the Rocks ist einen Besuch absolut wert. Wir waren häufiger hier und konnten uns somit durch die halbe Karte essen. Mein Highlight sind die Macadamia Pancakes sowie die Schoko-​Pancakes mit frischen Erdbeeren, aber wie bereits von macoholic erwähnt, es gibt auch andere Speisen wie Crepes, Rippchen, Salate An den Abenden steht man hier gut und gerne mal eine Weile in der Schlange, um einen Tisch zu erhaschen Es lohnt sich!!!
Auch an Feiertagen geöffnet. Die Hausspezialität gibts stets zu moderaten Preisen zwischen 10 – 13 AUS $.

Il faut le trouver, un peu paumé dans une rue derrière le quartier du Rocks! On y fait une queue impressionnante, mais la salle est grande sur 2 étages! Le choix des pancakes y est large, ils sont soit nature, soit chocolat et on vous propose de les accompagner avec différents fruits, glacé, nappage Vous en avez 2 avec accompagnement pour une fourchette de prix entre 10 – 13 $, puis il faut compter 2 ou 3 $ par pancake supplémentaire. L’assiette est copieuse, mais les pancakes laissent à désirer sur la cuisson. Le manqué de cuisson vous laisse un peu goût de farine, pâte pas cuite en bouche peu agréable! Dommage!

der absolute Knaller! egal ob süß oder deftig, hier schmecken die pancakes einmalig gut! unbedingt ausprobieren.

Da kann ich macoholic nur recht geben und weiß auch nicht recht was es da noch hinzuzufügen gibt einfach nur super lecker! Ich hab es in meiner Zeit in Sydney leider nur 1 Mal geschafft dort essen zugehen!

Die Schlangen die sich ab circa 19.00 Uhr bis vor das Gebäude drängen sagen schon so ziemlich alles. Für mich ein MUSS während eines Sydney Besuches. Für 10 — 13 Dollar kriegt man hier die besten Pancackes weit und breit.
Die Auswahl reicht von dünnen Crepes mit Ahorn Sirup bis zu den richtigen Pancakes mit Schokosoße und frittierter Banana. Neben der Spezialität des Hauses gibt es auch sehr gute Steaks, Flammkuchen und Pizza.
–Einer meiner absoluten Favoriten wenn es um gutes Essen in Sydney geht.
Von den Warteschlangen die teilweise bis auf die Straße reichen nicht abschrecken lassen, es geht schneller als erwartet und man wird ausreichend entschädigt :)
