Jumped in for a quick bite to eat while exploring The Rocks. Nice little café atmosphere looking out into an alley for some good people watching. The food and coffee were delicious

If you’re visiting The Rocks don’t bother going anywhere else this is the spot to hit up for a great coffee and incredible food! The fit out is super trendy and the music just makes you happy :) Helpful, friendly staff. Beautifully presented cold brew, flower petals and all. Will definitely be back!

We liked it so much for breakfast, we came back three hours later for lunch. The breakfast panini was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. Knife and fork required.

Fine foods loves up to its name and more, given the absolutely delicious breakfast I enjoyed here yesterday. The restaurant is tucked in an alley across from the Rocks discovery museum and has a very charming and chic atmosphere. We sat indoors at a bar-like table facing a window. Once we browsed through the menu, we ordered and paid at the counter and the food was delivered to us. Ricotta and avo on sourdough: the balance of avocado, tomato, and goat cheese was on point, and I was a huge fan of the salad’s vinaigrette. Belgian waffles: sweet on sweet; lots of toppings, from a banana to ice cream, and quite delicious. Roast mushroom and kale: in appearance it is similar to a sandwich. I loved how juicy the mushrooms were, and how well each component contributes to its hearty flavor. Drinks: we each ordered something different(chai tea, mocha, cappuccino, black coffee) and each was very good. Bonus points to the barista who made such beautiful latte art. TLDR; 5 stars all the way.

Don’t bother. Just take a look at my «club sandwich»(pictured). How you can make coffee alchemy taste so bad when you have all the best coffee gear I don’t know. The club sandwich was abysmal. My favorite part was the soggy bread but the side salad was a highlight too. Wife’s lamb stew was so bad she only ate the bread that came with it. Dry and flavorless. The tables and cutlery were filthy. Disappointing lunch and experience.

Had the best falafel wrap with home made spicy australian dimens sauce. Great ambience with amazing staff and service.

The Fine Food Store is my ultimate breakfast location. It’s seriously a dream come true. It’s tucked away down a little side street at the Rocks. Very, very cute. There is a small covered outdoor seating area, and lots of seating inside. Cosy interior, wooden furniture and lots of potted plants making it feel nice and homely. Order at the counter — there is no table service. Amazing smooth, rich coffee. So damn good. Interesting menu. Classic breakfast dishes and then some creative twists. I had an amazing croque madame concoction… Imagine a cheese toastie(a really good one), with prosciutto somehow baked inside(seriously, I have no idea how they did this) and an egg somehow poached into the cheese. It. Was. Incredible. This is as good as it gets, kids.

Service poor, owner grumpy bitter bloke, just like his coffee, didn’t even send out my meal. Took along time to clean our table

I was disappointed after reading such positive reviews. The food was average. The only type of eggs offered are poached. I found them overdone and a bit rubbery. I ordered an avocado side. Avocado was overripe with black bits/bruises on it. Sourdough toast was nice. Staff were pleasant, but it didn’t feel like it was a particularly inviting atmosphere. An ok breakfast, but wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

This café is outstanding! I don’t have the privilege of living in Sydney, but I visited this café for the first time in 2014 and had the croque and the dirty chai for brunch before having to get on the plane. The food, the atmosphere, and above all the dirty chai is just out of this world. I’ve since had two layovers in Sydney and rather than lounging in the luxury of a business class lounge at the airport, I have high tailed it to The Rocks for some breakfast and at least three cups of the dirtiest, filthiest, most wonderful chai in the world!

The Fine Food Store offers honest food at reasonable prices in the centre of The Rocks. This cozy café is a lovely place for breakfast and lunch if you happen to be in the area. I came here for a weekday lunch, the food came out fairly quick and the atmosphere was laid-back and relaxing.

Located just off the popular tourist area of Circular Quay, this restaurant is located in a cute historic building that offered some good food. The menu was mostly breakfast and lunch items including sandwiches and coffees. The staff were talkative and engaged with the patrons in the restaurant. I was impressed with the workers and the décor. As for the food, I was also not disappointed. I went with the mozzarella sandwich. It was pretty much a caprese salad between two pieces of bread. The bread was good but the vegetables were a little lacking. They didn’t seem as fresh as they could have been. It still tasted very good though. The prices were decent and the meal also came with free WiFi, which is also a huge positive. Overall, I liked this breakfast and lunch stop. I would recommend it for eating while in The Rocks District. There can be a lot of cruise travelers in the area, but just look past them and this place will be enjoyable.

I couldn’t find a coffee I really liked in Sydney until I wandered into TFFS&C. I can’t seem to dig up the menu online as their website now points to a Pinterest page with no menu but I believe it has American in it. It’s pretty delicious. I made sure to come by here daily for one! I decided to have breakfast here one morning as well and I wish the breakfast was as good as their coffees. The ingredients were really fresh but my meal was really bland. I wish I could check the menu online but it’s not available and I wouldn’t doubt they update their menu regularly. I’d definitely come back for some coffee!

The Fine Food Store is always a great stop in The Rocks if you’re looking for fresh and healthy food and top notch coffee. They have a wonderful breakfast menu which is served until 12 on weekdays and 3 on weekends as well as plenty of fresh pre-made sandwiches and wraps if you’re just stopping by for lunch whilst at work. You can be sure that you will always get good food and good coffee when you come here, served from one of the many tattooed and pierced baristas behind the counter. They have had a face lift since the last time I was here and it’s now looking very chic. If you come during the lunch hour or the morning rush it’s very busy so be prepared to wait a bit because you know it will be worth it!

A reliable source for good coffee in The Rocks. Never am I let down with a curdled soy cappuccino here. The food just misses the mark, but you won’t be left out in the dark if you’re after something nutritious. I was a cynic on the new fit out at first– ‘been there, done that’. But I had to swallow my words — this place has really grown on me. I love sitting between these stylish walls. If you’re solo or duo, sit in the cobbled laneway benches — oh so qaint.

We came back to Sydney for five days and once again ate all but one of our breakfasts here. The variety of offerings and the knowledgeable and friendly staff make this place a simpler and more accessible Bill’s.

Awesome little lunch spot in the Rocks that has an emphasis on healthy, fresh food. The baristas are really friendly and the coffee is fantastic– they really pay attention to quality when it comes to their coffee and you can taste the excellence in every cup. Would recommend the«queenie» or falafel sandwich for lunch. While you’re there you can use their Wi-Fi(which is reason alone to give this place 5 stars) and there are plenty of big tables if you feel like stretching out and working for a bit.

Stopped at the Fine Food Store yesterday after seeing the good Unilocal reviews, and had a lovely breakfast. I ordered the Salami and Kale Pesto Panini. It came with Salami, Kale Pesto, a poached egg, and ricotta. It was extremely delicious and filling. It also came with arugula salad, which was tasty. The main problem was it took 25 minutes to come! The place was pretty empty, so I am not sure why the food took so long. The café itself is nice. It is in a nice area of the Rocks and has a very laid-back atmosphere. We sat by the big open windows facing the street, which was relaxing and enjoyable. Overall, I definitely recommend the Fine Food Store for tourists(such as myself) and locals alike! It is tasty, hearty, fresh food in a nice, casual atmosphere.

Good food, hidden in the back lanes of the rocks at Sydney, we’ve been here a couple of times already and they have very good coffee. Of course they should since they are in the centre city, but its always a pleasure to drink. Service is friendly and the place has been here for a few years so has got something going for it. I do like how they mix store type sales products into the café area without it seeming overly problematic(nothing too tacky given the area it’s in).

I have to start by saying that this was a really good cup of coffee! Not the best in the city, but the best I’ve tried in this area. Even in the Aroma Festival it is still one of the best coffee places. It is not an overall dark bean, so if you like that you might not like this coffee. Saying that I prefer a darker bean, but I still enjoyed this immensely. My friend order a sandwich, which had oregano toasted on the outside of the sandwich. Which is cool. All their food looked and smelled amazing. I ordered for breakfast a Croque Sir, which is cheesey intensity, but in a serious good way. I would recommend this place for breakfast. I think it is one of the better breakfast places in the city. Also they sell gourmet food supplies here as well. This place is worth going to if you are in the area.
