This place turned me into a criminal! Well not really but I did break my «one coffee a day» rule with little hesitation. The coffee here is amazeballs and as other reviews have said it is a place to get excited about. It’s by no mean cheap(probably the most expensive toastie I have ever eaten) but it is worth it. Another reason to look forward to international travel!

Finally, a café in an airport that serves amazing coffee, awesome food and service that doesn’t involve the staff looking like they want to throw themselves under the next Boeing flight to never-never land. I’ve travelled a lot in my time so leave my arrival at the airport until the last possible moment. This is all going to change from now on so I can experience more than the luscious home-made fruit toast and velvety, smooth coffee I had to scoff down on my sprint to my gate. Every single staff member greeted me with a genuine smile and just seemed so relaxed and happy to be there. Where can I go next? And can I go next week?

Best Dish Forward: fried silky croquette w/leak + mahon cheese I probably just think this is most swell thing ever because only at the airport is a jug of sangria a perfectly acceptable breakfast.

Airport food is, usually, something you encounter because you’re starving hungry and/or bored. It’s not generally something you encounter with excitement, with anticipation and want to admit you’ve indulged in — right? Well get excited because next time you fly internationally from Melbourne you can prepare to fill your tummy hole beforehand at Bar Pulpo — the younger cousin of Movida in the CBD. Sure, it feels a bit«airporty», but you can order the hand filleted anchovie with tomato sorbet, a piece of Spanish cheese and a good glass of wine before your flight and enjoy it in a more relaxed environment that those waiting lounges.
