Just a quick update: No longer the best steak in Adelaide sadly(goodbye five stars!) but still very good quality. New owners(about four months ago). Corkage is now $ 17.

Brilliant service, awesome food had the fire oysters which are so good, then had the 500g porterhouse steak rare which was perfect. Highly recommend this spot, it is expensive but well worth it!

You know how Hindus believe in reincarnation? Well this corner store on Unley Rd has reached its final stage of nirvana. It has had many ratty, dogs of businesses before it and now been transformed into a flamin’ legend. Our friendly waitress came complete with authentic Argentinian accent and incredibly attentive and helpful table service. Our glasses were never empty and neither were our bellies. I prefer my meat back in the paddock where it belongs but even I was satiated here. I was starved but knew that a deceptively small sounding dish would be filling. The pan pomodoro bread with a sheaf of garlic, mozarella and tomato gave me an insight into why everyone raves about the wood oven pizzas here. Perfectly crisp base but with enough flavour and fluff to be a great starter. The grilled atlantic salmon(of the day) with sweet potato mash and crispy steamed veg was very well seasoned with a cheesy type mustard aioli sauce and perfectly cooked. Pair that with an Argentinian wine and you are set for a warm and cosy evening. You wouldn’t come here every night as these are large and special occasion priced meals. However, date night for the next 4 weeks is «sorted» apparently, and I know there are still many dishes of pizza, pasta and entrée that I can tick off without having to touch the steaks they are so well known for. It’s «todos ganamos» if you ask me!

All I want for dinner is the Fire eye fillet each night for the next four weeks. In the third week I will add the chimchurri sauce, which is an improvement on the dish but somehow, I’d rather just have the meat. The wine list is tremendous, and the«Fire» oysters I had for entrée are a real treat. Service was perfect and price was more than reasonable. But that meat! Eat that meat! Review over.

So I had my first experience at Fire on Unley last night and it won’t be the last! Attention Vegans… Don’t bother with this one. From the moment we walked in until we left I enjoyed every second of our dining experience. The restaurant is, at the time of this review brand new so everything looks fantastic. The atmosphere and lighting is great and it’s not overcrowded. I will say the toilets are outside and around the corner which is slightly annoying but it’s a really small gripe considering they wouldn’t have had much of a choice. Oh yeah and I’d love to hear some South American music playing in the background instead of the mix102.3 type stuff they had playing… Anyway enough of that… The food was OUTSTANDING! I know I’m at a place with a good menu when it takes me so long to decide on what to order. For entrée we had the ‘fire oysters’ which consisted of oysters swimming in a beautiful garlic butter sauce with crispy pancetta on top(10⁄10). For main I ordered the scotch fillet steak cooked medium rare and it was just that. It came out on a wooden block, huge steak knife, roasted potatoes and some warm crisp rocket.(11⁄10). The steak combined with the authentic Chimichurri just blew me away. Desert(yes I managed to fit it in, just) was churro with a side of two dipping sauces which was great too The prices are on the slightly higher side of things however sometimes you get what you pay for. Having said that I have been to many other restaurants and have paid a lot more and have less disappointed… NOT the case with Fire. They have a good wine /beer list with Aussie and imported options(get into the sprit and order a wine from South America) Fire on Unley is now on my rotation of restaurants that I will be frequenting from now on… That’s if I can get a table because once it catches on you will need to book well in advance. I can’t wait to try everything on the menu! ***the music is now very south American adding even more to this place! ***
