Flying Brick Cider Co

We came here with a large group and ordered half the menu. I wish out group had been bigger because everything we had was so good I wanted to try the rest! The charcuterie and ploughmand board were full of beautiful cured meats and veggies. The servings are really big too. We got a charcuterie board and two starters and it was way too mich for the two of us.

Popped in for a quick cider tasting and ended up enjoying a pot of pear goodness out on the lawns. Really tasty ciders, more on the dry side and not that horrid sickly sweet stuff. Lots of seating both inside and outside, with friendly service. Would love to return to check out the menu and sample more of the delicious range.

We were already fans of this cider, having discovered it at several wine festivals over the past few years. Obviously they’ve come leaps and bounds, because Flying Cider now has their own beautiful restaurant/​bar on the Bellarine Highway.
They have some selections on tap that you can’t get anywhere else — we tried a ginger and chill infused cider that was *excellent* — but their basics are all pretty darn great too. (Nice crisp and dry — no over-​saturation of sweetness here = my kind of cider).
Inside looks like a great space for lunch, and outside a plush green lawn and tables makes it easy to enjoy a glass of great cider in the sun.

We travelled from Melbourne to celebrate my Dad’s 87^th birthday here yesterday; a beautiful Sunday afternoon. What a lovely setting and a terrific vibe. We were a mix of ages and all had a lovely time. The food was incredible and seriously delicious. I tried the non-​alcoholic cider and am now a fan — I’ve not tasted cider in recent years. We will definitely be back.

Visit for the cider, stay for the food.
The venue here is really well thought out. There’s a beautiful simple in door dining area which was perfectly temperature controlled. Clean facilities which is an added bonus. The staff are super attentive, friendly and helpful. Couldn’t fault the service our table of 10 got here.
So why only 3 stars? Well the cider is really a non event. There’s just not a lot happening in that glass of golden liquid goodness. Tried a tasting paddle, which was reasonably priced for the big glasses you receive. There was only very mild differences between the ciders.
So why visit for semi ok cider? THE FOOD. The glorious, amazing food. I was shocked at how amazing the shared platters are here. A $ 30 platter feed two of us comfortably.

Been here twice and food was great, service good and some great live music too. Cider is great too. They were happy for me to try a few before buying too!

It was really great, there is a lovely bar and a great seating both inside and out. The ciders were very unique and delicious. My favourite was the original and also the non alcoholic one. It was very reasonably priced and allowed you to taste generous amounts for not that much. I would very much recommend this for a day out especially if you are on the Great Ocean Road.

So, this place opened up last year and I came here with my old work-​mates because they were both getting married and wanted to see them before they made it official.
All the way up here in Geelong and if your passing by, come have a crack at this place only after you’ve read what my experience were.
This place is pretty much all about drinking cider! We had to wait an hour to get a seating to place a meal but we were outside in the front drinking cider and talking to pass the time. It got to the point that it was extremely annoying that we just wanted to walk out. This isn’t a really famous restaurant so why did we have to wait that long to get a seating? After that it was a further 45 minute wait for our food and for the price we are paying… it wasn’t a lot. Fine dining at its best! Ha, and the cooks look like they were having a good time working at a normal pace. This is the first time I’ve seen cooks relaxed at work.
Your not here for the food, your here for the cider, socialising, being outdoors and the view. If your not one to wait and is impatient I recommend that you don’t come here or at least have a try before you definitely say no to this place.
I must say those, on a good sunny day, this place is great for the views.
