After stopping over in Warrnambool on our way from Melbourne to the Barossa Valley(seriously, we drove), we decided on the Pickled Pig for dinner. Such a good choice! We were jonesing for a cheese plate — clearly in a wine state of mind — and while there wasn’t one the menu, the restaurant compiled one especially for us. It was huge, and had a great variety — we discovered we love quince paste too! We also ordered the patatas bravas, which weren’t as good as I’ve had other places, but we still finished the whole plate, and the lamb… oh my god, the lamb. Even the non-lamb eater(in the company of never-say-no-to-lamb enthusiasts) loved it! Perfectly cooked and served with a minty pesto, currants, and a wine reduction. To live for! Our waitress was really lovely too. We came in a bit late for dinner, but felt no rush to hurry up, eat, and leave. Great recommendations for breakfast the next day in preparation for hour 8 hour drive — we drove, remember?
