Ever since I watched Pia Miranda making tomato sauce and dancing with her nonna under the Sydney flighpath, I’ve wanted to be in an Italian family. Sapori Di Sardegna brings that dream a little closer to life. Andrea and Pauline are the sweetest couple who welcomes everyone into their café/deli with smiles and coffee. And it must be infectious, because I’ve never come across a rude or grumpy customer here either! For this end of town, coffees are a bargain at $ 3 and the food’s pretty incredible too — I love the torta di salata and the sfogliatelle are dangerously addictive. Get in at the right time and you’ll get them fresh from the oven!

These guys are like everyone’s long-lost-Italian-coffee-and-food-loving family. Their coffee/sandwich/salads/cold meats are all great, the Italian fish-roe pasta is a personal favourite. But what makes this place special is that they serve all their coffee and food with the cheeriest smile and greetings. In a town full of hipster joints that would just grace you with their presence… these guys are priceless

When I first heard about this place from coworkers and how friendly, welcoming, beautifully spirited the owners were, I really thought it was a couple of kindly septuagenarians running the joint. I was very(almost offensively) wrong. The owners actually have a young family but live up to their reputations. Andre who mans the coffee machine learnt my name and order within 3 visits and learnt my partner’s order in two. The coffee is good and cheap for the area at $ 3 for a regular. The front cabinet is full of tasty Sardinian treats for lunch, and there is a deli counter as well full of all sorts of animal parts. The baked goods can be a bit hit and miss — my pick is the sfogliatelle, a ricotta and orange pastry which I never feel right ordering before 8 in the morning. So. Good.

Hi I had a very nice light lunch here. Excellent coffee. I left my mobile phone behind and the lovely young staff member ran quite a distance to give it back. Thank you. :)
