We had a great night there the drinks were top notch from the bar staff, who were also very friendly. The food I felt having a wide range as we shared was«ok» nothing to write home about. It didn’t wow me They have a 2 person lamb dish which is great and definitely worthwhile. I felt the place needed something, maybe light music, change of lighting as the night got later just a little something

Went in for dinner expecting a place with fine food but was very disappointed. The food menu was very restricted and the quality of the food was very average. The service was good but it can’t really make up for the food. The location was a bit random too. Won’t be visiting there again. Sorry. Good luck.

After coming here a couple of times at different hours of the day and night, I prefer coming for breakfast/brunch. I had the Braised Beans, Speck, Eggs and Sourdough and my partner had the Granola with Rhubarb and Spiced Apple. We both enjoyed our meals and although Vittoria coffee isn’t my preferred brand, I did enjoy my espresso. I love the atmosphere and space at London Fields. Always open with heaps of light either day or night. I wasn’t completely sold on the Wagyu Cheeseburger or the Lamb Ribs in the evenings. The brioche buns were covered in barbeque sauce as opposed to the traditional tomato for the cheeseburger, and on the lamb ribs I felt they were dry and that half the meat had been cut from the bone. They make good chips, even though it was a small serving size to accompany the burger. I’ll be keen to get into the restaurant to have a comparison, but the ales and beers on tap are very enjoyable and there’s a great wine list. Overall, I found that in the evenings it’s not great value for money food wise but the mornings are reasonable. I’ll still be coming over for more visits and look forward to seeing the development over time.

First the good: a great space — welcoming and happening but not too loud. Nice warm lighting inside plus ideal afternoon drinks spot outside, and a good food stop in this location is very welcome. The service was also friendly, relaxed and competent. I was more lukewarm on the menu though, for two reasons — first the price, which is just a bit too much for something that calls itself a gastropub. Dinner for two with shared entrée and dessert, and two rounds of drinks each, and it was $ 220+. Ouch. Second, the menu quite concise, which is not always bad(and can be perfect) — but the range is just too limited — too meat-heavy, nothing even resembling a salad to be found, just heavy in general. The range of cooked sides is good but given the meals also come with cooked vegies, I’d like to see a just a couple of fresher, lighter options. Our orders were all very good(although nothing I would describe as excellent) — particularly the entrees(oysters and smoked mackerel). I will definitely be back but I’ll be crossing my fingers for a spring menu with a bit more variety.
