Any place on God’s green earth that has a breakfast pasta is getting at least 3 stars from me on that fact alone but lucky for me and for all of you they get 5 stars because this dish is just that damn good. Morning After has quickly become a West End must do and it’s not hard to see why. I could go on about the on point décor. I could tell you about the excellent service. I could even tell you about the top notch coffee you can get here. But who cares about any of that when the menu is as good as it is. So good in fact, that I ordered two breakfasts because I needed to try both and I wasn’t willing to wait. The utter highlight is… you guessed it. Breakfast carbonara. Al dente pasta, 63 degree egg and everything else that makes life worth living. It’s the crown jewel of Morning After. There’s plenty of sweet and savoury options ranging from red velvet hot cakes to broccoli and mozzarella fritter to french toast with coffee cream to spiced black rice pudding. If you cannot find something you want to devour here then you’re just not living your life right. Don’t wait. Don’t even finish reading this review. Just get down to Morning After right away and witness the joy for yourself. If you did keep reading after I told you not to bother then congrats! I have a quick tip to reward you for forging on. Every now and then Morning After do a pop up 4 course dinner with matching wines aptly named«Night Before». The next one is coming up in a fortnight. Keep your eye on their website and instagram for when they’re rolling out the next one.

Morning After seems a universal recommendation for brunch in West End, and it’s easy to see why. Their menu includes well-labeled options for most any diet, and their creations are copious in ingredients and gorgeous in presentation. I’ve had plenty of renditions of avocado on toast and this wasn’t my first chia pudding either, but it’s hard to say I’ve had better than what Morning After put out. Whether it was the fresh peas surrounding my avocado or the tuft of cotton candy to soak up the dragonfruit juice on my chia pudding, there was going to be something special on that plate. I have found their teas palatable if unexceptional, but worth getting. It is going to be an expensive meal here no matter what you get, but I find it wise to fill up on breakfast on some days when my schedule doesn’t allow for lunch, and for the money, you get a lot. I would be happy to see their menu revise, but on what they do right now, the only thing that would really make it better is if the place was on the water. But in the heart of West End, this is the nicest breakfast you’ll get.

Enjoyed a great breakfast with awesome service at Morning After last week. I was catching up with an old colleague who’s recently had a baby, so we went on a Tuesday hoping to avoid a crowd. Staff were super cool with having a pram taking up lots of room, and the very long time we spent gossiping before we ordered and after we finished eating. My friend’s baby is delightful, but was getting a little grumpy, at which point the lovely owner promptly scooped her up and took her outside for a wander so we could chat. She brought her back, too, which was nice. I ordered the Avocado on toast– mostly boring, but not at Morning After. It was delicious and flavourful, with feta and a nice garnish too. My friend had bircher muesli which she enjoyed as well. Aesthetic is clearly important to this crew, as the food looks amazing and so does the décor. Will definitely be back soon.

Definitely candidate to be added to the breakfast favourite list for Brisbane but book ahead! I’ve been eyeing this place off for a fair while and apparently everyone else has too! Headed here on Sunday morning around 10ish and the place was packed and there was a huge line out the front. Onviously a good sign when people are willing to wait, so we thought we’d stay and give it a go. Uppers: Great menu — with vego & vegan options Food was really good and meal sizes were decent — no skimping Once we were seated service was quick and friendly, coffee came quickly but food took a fair while due to them being busy Downers: Really loud — the place was full so crowd noise was high but they also had the music up quite loud which made it hard to talk Coffee was not amazing — tried their batch brew but I’d probably skip it and try one of the smoothies next time Parking is unlikely — street parking in the area is typical West End sardine can style Morning After also does lunch(that’s the ‘After’ part, see what they did there?) and the quality of the food does warrant a second look in but I’ll definitely be making a reservation next time.

Arrived @ 9.40 am on a Saturday, was very busy, we where met with a smile and where promptly seated. We first sat inside but found it very noisy, asked if we could be seated outside. Which we where given a table outside, without any issues, I ordered the healthy MaMuffin with a hash brown absolutely Delish. My partner ordered the chia pudding which was also very tasty and very well presented. Drinks and food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Would highly recommend it. Service was friendly and prompt, will go back again.

Gorgeous food and a great atmosphere. Kitchen is really busy so you have to wait a long time.

Some of the most perfect scrambled eggs I’ve had anywhere in Brisbane. Staff were lovely and coffee was on point. Love this place, especially this interior, with the sun beaming in during the early morning it creates a lovely ambiance. I am interested in trying their pasta breakfast dish when I go back.

We had heard a lot of good things about the morning after and finally had the time to try it. We ordered the barramundi tacos, cheeseburger, fries with feta and oregano, a peanut butter shake and a iced latte. Firstly I’d like to say that the atmosphere was great with friendly and attentive staff. I tried to order an iced latte for myself I asked for decafe — they were out. Very unfortunate as I then opted for the peanut butter shake which didn’t come out until after all our food was served. The cheeseburger was really good but the fish taco was lacking flavour to which I tried to douse with salt and it still didn’t make it any better. The food however did come out quick which was good. The peanut butter shake was not very peanut buttery. And probably was made with the peanut butter powder because of the graininess. Anyway, all in all the experience was good but for the price tag I won’t be in a rush to go back very soon.

Stumbled across this when looking for a breakfast café when we arrived in Brisbane. Luckily the few reviews were not wrong and we were pleasantly surprised with the food and service at Morning After. We were able to sit on the bar that looked outside towards the street and started with some fresh coffee. We then tried the buttermilk and ricotta pancakes and the MaMuffin. Both were very tasty and were very filling. It was a great meal before heading down to the Goldcoast. The service was outstanding and really enjoyed talking to the wait staff about other places to visit while in Brisbane.

I’m crushing hard on Morning After, and have no regrets about waking up to this place. After coming here a few times and sampling the breakie and lunch options I can hands down say Morning After is in my top 3 cafes in Brissy. Outstanding fresh menu with unique and classic options available, try the corn pakora for breakie or the chicken yiro for Saturday lunch. There’s so much choice that I have no option but to keep coming back till I sample all dishes. Coffee here is solid and their staff are friendly, efficient and attentive — exactly what you need when you’re hungover and need to get nourished hardcore.

A respectable entry in the crowded West End brunch scene, but it misses the mark a bit. The mid-century style, clean lines, and relaxing breeze of the dining area just can’t make up for the burnt toast on my benedict or the conventionality of the flavors.

After seeing many photos of Morning After’s creations across my Unilocal and Instagram feed, I thought it best to check it out for myself. Before I even got to taste the food I was already gazing at the interiors, a similar style to one of Bill Granger’s fashionable cafés down south. White and timber with splashes of green. The interior perfectly sets the tone for the food on offer — creative concepts but not over the top. We ordered the crab omelette with fresh chilli and the eggs benedict with smoked salmon. Both could have been really rich and overpowering, but were not too intense for breakfast. The eggs benedict had a really light hollandaise sauce and the salmon was a lovely, subtle flavour. The omelette was simple with fresh asian flavours and yummy crab. I also had a green juice which was more apple than spinach… how I like it! All in all it was a really pleasant experience.

I was inspired to go by an Instagram post George Colombaris did when he was in Brisbane recently — had a serious case of FOMO from the pic(and it wasn’t even a foodstagram one, just the décor!!!). Went early on a Sunday morning — 7.30am — as a group of 4. Bit tough to park but that’s expected in West End. Menu was super fun and it was hard to make a decision — between four we had the breakfast carbonara, the pea & avo smash, the MAmuffin and the potato hash… oh, and a bowl of chips with feta. Yes chips! Everything was delish, the coffee was good(espresso and filter) and it was a funky«new kid on the block» type atmosphere. Started to get super busy when we left at 8.45am so can imagine a wait a bit later in the day especially as it builds in popularity. Really enjoyed, will be back for sure.

Really nice breezy atmosphere, with a great variety of breakfast and lunches. A little expensive but totally good value for money — Benedict is on point!

Screw waiting for the morning after to take in the glitz of the fresh subway tiles and stellar menu of this new to West End café. Stop what you’re doing right now and get your toosh there for lunch(or breakfast) pronto. Café hopping is an occupational hazard for me. Verging on café fatigue, tired of the same old formula rehashed time and time again, I was genuinely impressed by MA’s menu(the carbonara on the brekky menu might be the thing that comes between me and everyone). And before you say, «Yuck pasta for breakfast!?» This isn’t an overly creamy and sauce-heavy meal. It is a well portioned plate with a 63 degree egg, bacon and instead of a slice of bread you have beautiful al dente pasta. Coffee(Uncle Joe’s for those playing at home is mighty. The pour over gets 5 stars for me for quality and the ceramic cups it is served in) service and style. Sure, it’s a little noisy — you are on Vulture Street — but it adds to the atmosphere. With a fully open space and sun shining in, it’s hard not to leave feeling just a little brighter about the world. Maybe there is something in saving a visit to here until the morning after the night before after all!

New kid on the block, Morning After, boasts a strong fit out game and what you’d expect to see in Brisbane’s cafes that are doing it right. My partner and I stopped by this morning for a coffee and were welcomed with some brilliant customer service. Seats were found and menus brought out promptly. My long black was on song, with the subtle flavour notes of the Uncle Joe’s Purple Haze perfectly on show. Unfortunately, my partner’s flat white left a little to be desired. The flavour of the coffee was lost in a milky broth that was missing the finesse of what has been become the benchmark for baristas in Brisbane. Hopefully just a symptom of the recent opening and still getting used to the espresso machine. We will be back. Their breakfast menu looks killer and they have a great looking beer selection on offer for later in the day.

Morning After recently opened on the corner of Vulture St & Cambridge(The Glass Factory), West End, & having tried it, we can safely say it has been worth the wait. A sleek & gorgeous modern interior, an eclectic menu including some very unique all day breakfast dishes, amazing coffees, & outstanding service. These are all elements we absolutely love & look for in any restaurant or café and for a «new» venue, Morning After exceeded our first-time expectations. The atmosphere is very welcoming, relaxed, with awesome tunes that add a cool vibe to the place. Love the little things that the staff do as well, like constantly filling up your glass of water, attentive without being overbearing. Perfect. In many ways, Morning After has raised the bar on all fronts that maybe other cafes in Brisbane could learn from. Initially, we had some«elixir» of freshly made carrot-based juice(delish!), which is perfect for this warmer weather. Followed up with coffees by Uncle Joes Coffee &5 Senses Coffee, as a «long mach» & «long black» respectively, and later, filtered coffee carefully crafted by Uncle Joes owner Mark. Awesome! Can not be faulted. We’re a little biased as we’ve been fans of Uncle Joes Coffee for a while now. Everything on the menu sounds appealing & the price-points are very reasonable. All day breakfasts, all under $ 20, & Lunch(11:30am — 3pm), all under $ 22. Always happy to pay a little higher for breakfast, if it offers something unique. We decided to try both the breakfast & lunch menus(for the best of both worlds!) & could not go past the Carbonara for breakfast, so we just had to try it. Carbonara papardelle of 63 degree eggs, field mushrooms, guanciale & pecorino romano($ 19). Carbonara not as you know it, and as the menu says, probably offending all Italians, but absolutely delicious. The lunch dish of Hand rolled ink linguine, prawns, cherry tomatoes, basil, chilli & bottarga($ 21) was outstanding. It seemed appropriate that at the time, Beyonce’s «Drunk In Love» was playing, as we enjoyed each mouthful. Every ingredient on the plate was so fresh & full of flavour. Loved the shaved bottarga. Morning After West End, is one place we can not wait to get back to based on our visit. They will also be doing once — a — month pop up dinners, if things go well. Trivia: For those who’ve been around Brisbane long enough, the owners are the same family from Dell’ Ugo Southbank & although that’s no longer operating, if you were a fan then, you will definitely love what Morning After is offering.
