Typical Irish Pub set in West Leederville. I work around the corner so have been here a few times for a drink and lunch with the colleagues. They have good lunch deals and the food is pretty good, but have had a few hit and miss meals here. The prices are reasonable. You get the full Irish experience all of the time which is fab! I also came here for St Patricks day they put on a full show of Irish dancers, an Irish band, Guiness and Cider and Irish food. It was good fun! Overall cool Irish pub :)

This place does Irish right. Winner of Australia’s biggest Guinness seller. I think 6 years in a row now. You can find old granny’s and young tradies knocking back the dark stout from the early afternoon till late at night They service is amazing, Irish staff so you feel like your on a hilly country side :) The meals are amazing and such huge portions! Very potato loaded! Really yummy and filling! I had the pork belly, my partner and his cousin got the beef and Guinness pie and another friend got the sausages and gravy. All the meals came out together and were absolutely amazing! They have the general pub area with 2 huge TVs playing, rugby, footy, soccer and many more sports. Or you can sit up in the cosy restaurant area and enjoy a nice meal and a few pints. They have different meal deals every week night and a Sunday roast special. They pull in a decent crowd everyday, so get in early to grab a good spot :)

JBs is a Irish pub in West Leederville. It has a big Irish menu and beers to choose from. I’ve eaten here a few times and have been happy with the big Irish pub meals. Notably a chicken and leek pie which was soo tasty and made me wanting to go back for more! The service is okay, the bar staff can be chatty on a good day. All in all it’s an okay pub to have a drink at with friends and some food if your feeling hungry from some Irish food such as curry chips!

You can’t go wrong when you have an Irish Pub as your local. JB O’Reilly’s would have to be one of the best if not THE best Irish bar in Perth. The memorabilia covered walls and ceiling keep you entertained for hours(I see something new every time I go) and this pub apparently sells the most and best Guinness in Australia. They have special meal deals during the week — pie and pint for $ 15(winner!) and make sure you join in on the singalongs when they have live bands, all playing together around a table. It’s like being with friends in your own living room. While I have had some hit and miss meals here, the food is generally good, hearty pub grub. In winter, grab a table next to the fire in the dining area and order the cider mussels. Winter warming goodness at its best!

I’ve been to a few«Irish» pubs in my travels, the ones here in Perth are very much along the«we sell the black stuff and look, there is a leprechaun on a string» formula. So I wasn’t expecting much from this place. I was gleefully wrong. The bar is probably the most authentic I’ve been in outside of Ireland, the staff(a chirpy, cheeky waiter) was Irish and had the right mixture of helpfulness and lip«I’m not in the mood for fish, so I can’t say I’d have it!» when asked about it. The beer was good, served right and was quick to be delivered. Kilkenny in my case, but the black stuff for my colleagues. I had the sausages and mash and loved it. Very tasty, hearty pub food. Good service, good food, good drink. Great venue. I’d recommend it.

Log fires, hearty food and décor to ogle for hours is what you will get if you step inside this pub. I ordered the fish and chips with mushy peas(never tried mushy peas before). The hand cut chips were soggy so that was a let down, although in contrast the fish was wonderfully crunchy and tender on the inside, the mushy peas was a highlight as the smooth texture with a pea come egg flavour was fantastic. I really enjoyed the modest beer prices and the fun décor. Food 6⁄10 service 7⁄10 décor 7.5÷10

This is a real Irish in Australia experience. Most people who work there and drink and eat there seem to be Irish. The Guiness is about the best I have had in Australia and they have monthly drink specials to take you away(slightly) from the extortionate price of a pint in Australia(at around twice the price of the same thing in London). They have varying but sometimes very good live music. It can get rather rowdy at times… One night we had to lift our Guinesses from our table and back away at high speed only seconds before two brawling Irish lads crashed on top of it. Most of the time it is pretty safe, although a little too male dominated. With a separate restaurant out the back, the food is surprisingly good, including the pies and pâté. This place could benefit from having more natural light and a more aired out smell. It would MASSIVELY benefit from having some real and smoke free outdoor space. This may not be easy in the residential area it is in, but at the same time the carpark is usually full of rowdy smokers anyway. It is very busy after football games.

JBs is a lovely little secret on Cambridge Street, an Irish pub that hasn’t been over-exposed as yet. Being a family-run operation helps maintain a sense of genuineness to the place, and JBs offers good food and a strong beer selection. One of their best nights is their open mic night, where people are invited to bring acoustic instruments for a night of impromptu jamming. There’s a surprising amount of people who can play traditional Irish instruments, and it’s always fun to watch music being created in front of you.

There are many Irish bars in Perth and although each have their own little quirks they also have their own issues. JBs is family run and it tells. It’s homely atmosphere combined with traditional fixtures and fittings gives a comfortable vibe and invites you for more. The drinks are affordable and provide good company to the homemade pie and live music on Wednesday nights. The food here is spectacular to boot. You won’t be disappointed.
