Whiteman park is choc-a-block full of activities and a major selling point for me was the tram! Yeah Melbourne trams may be a different story, especially when you’re driving and they’re like ghost trams until you’re right in the line of fire– a cruisey country tram ride for a bargain price of $ 5(for the adults of us– half price for kids) seemed like a steal. Also trekking over the reserve to get to mussel pool was extra enticing(not fancying the hiking option in 35 + degree heat.) Boasting the tag as «the only place in WA where you can ride an electric tram» I thought that exclusivity deserved a show of appreciation.. . little did I realise once I got there that the tram rides are even more exclusive than they initially seem. Due to a «high temperature sign» — which I thought would have been why the park was so busy with many people having the same great idea to cool off, this translated to no trains or trams running. OHS eh? I was a little disappointed, as yet again my long short cut proved to be an impossibility– I was still able to «ride» the tram(in a stationary manner) at the Revolutions museum. BIG fan, can imagine my love for this vehicle will only increase as it gets moving!
