Probably the best chinese in perth. Amazing noodles and rice dishes. Personal fav is the laksa, but lil things like salt and pepper squid is awesome. Tried most things from the menu and love it all. If you get a chance order the chendol for a refreshing cold drink.

Miss coming here to eat. We used to eat Taurus Hawker when they were in Sprncer Village all those years ago. I don’t go to Spencer Village now because the food is crap. Anyway the décor here is pretty average but i don’t come here for that. I come here for the food!!! Sorry but if a white person says the food here is average then they don’t know what the hell they are talking about. This food here is much better than pappa rich and always will be. Yeah so the service is limited but like i said, I’m here for the food. Will priced and nice place to come with the family. Don’t expect anything fancy. Just really yummy food!

I have been eating at Taurus hawker since it was at the spencer village food hall the food was as good as ever only problem the lady taking the orders needs to work on her customer service Otherwise still the best mee goring in Perth

This is one of the few places that I love coming to when I have a need for authentic Malaysian food. From laksa to nasi lemak, Taurus’ menu have such a range of rice and noodles dishes so tantalising to the taste buds to choose from!

It’s been so long that I’ve been to Taurus hawker foods and I couldn’t stay away any longer. My family and I have been coming here since Taurus was actually at spencer village thornlie. For a while there the dishes were a little hit and miss but it seems now everything has all been smoothed out and everything is back to delicious. The seafood laksa(my go to meal) is absolutely delicious and not too spicy either so plenty tasty for those who aren’t in to really spicy dishes but the kitchen is more than happy to spice it up for those who love spicy. The salt and pepper squid is also a great appetiser and their ho fun is also really good! Taurus hawker is generally pretty packed and you might find yourself sharing a table or if you are dining as a group you might find yourselves having to wait. Everything is pretty reasonably priced and serving sizes are huge(if I order anything as a large there is enough for another meal) ordering takeout you will get your order pretty quickly and you can also call ahead to order to save you having to wait. All in all Taurus is a great hawker restaurant, good food, inexpensive and service isn’t bad either.

Time for an update. The inconsistencies in dishes have abated and are no longer a concern. It’s still as busy as ever and it is only by some miracle that you can arrive on a Saturday night and have an entire table just to you and your group. Be prepared to share your dining space with others. It’s part of the Hawker experience. If you’re not up for that then be safe in the knowledge that everything on the menu can be ordered for take away. The servings are large and generous. A large serving can easily feed two people heartily. There are also small servings on offer but only small in name. In amongst the Hawker offerings there is a smattering of dim sum favourites. These are popular and sell out during the day. The atmosphere is loud and brash with fluorescent lighting to match. It’s not the place for an intimate date but it is cheap and cheerful. Everyone comes here including families, pensioners, suited up business types, uni students, couples, and more. They all come here for the food. It’s a good thing that locals in the know have a menu at home to call ahead for a pick up to accommodate for all the people dropping in.

This place isn’t bad for a relatively inexpensive lunch if you’re in the area. The chicken rice was pretty average, but the noodle soups are a fairly safe bet. If I have the time I prefer to travel to Spencer Village for a good feed, but this does just fine in a pinch.

I drive all the way down here regularly from north of the river. I come for the Curry Chicken & Seafood Laksa… they’re awesome. Plenty of space in this restaurant as opposed to some other hawker cafes which are a bit squeezy. There’s also a big carpark.

For the price, the food is good, and the portion is huge. We have been coming here once a month, especially for the Loh Mee(see my picture). It’s not a common dish in other hawkers restaurant in Perth.

Décor very basic. Food absolutely delicious and well priced for size. There were lines of people coming in to get takeaways while we were there. We arrived around 5:30pm on a Sunday. If you want flash seating, you will find yourself sitting at a bench seat. The closest you’ll get to a real hawkers experience in Perth.
