It might just be me but I tend to expect a lot from a pub meal these days, maybe because the standard of pub food these days is so high. Unfortunately the alma just doesn’t hit the mark for me. I had the MSA scotchie, it was cooked to medium rare but wasn’t rested before being served with meant the meat juices pooled on the plate. The scotchie didn’t seem to be seasoned at all and it seemed as if the steak wasn’t cooked over a high enough heat and therefore didn’t have the characteristic caramelized outer layer. It was reasonably cheap at $ 26 plus sauce but it tasted like a home cooked meal. Personally I wouldn’t go back
