We were meant to go to the restaurant next door but I opened the door to Charlie Dumplings thinking its where we were meant to go and 15 mins in, I realised that we were at the wrong place. Decided to stay and enjoyed the chicken ribs which is to die for. We also had the papaya salad and peking duck dumplings. The dumplings wasn’t the highlight although this place is known for their dumplings. The sashimi is amazing and the Milk chocolate dumplings with raspberry-chilli sorbet was the highlight. I will definitely be back for the chicken ribs!

Excellent selection of dumplings and other tasty bites. I enjoyed the fried eggplant with wasabi cream and furikake. Great service and a cozy atmosphere. Enjoy!

These were some pretty solid dumplings. Despite the name I enjoyed a salmon salad with wasabi peas and cold noodles over anything else. Came in on a Monday afternoon and struck out with only another couple being here. Chicken skewers were a good starter. Comes with chilli, mint, coriander, bean shots — roll it all up. Great warmer weather snack food. The dumplings come in lots of four and are extremely fresh. There’s a great selection; peking duck with pineapple and an XO sauce, lamb dumplings with minted yogurt, prawn. Sauces complimented the fillings. Is $ 14 – 16 steep for a serve of four dumplings? I didn’t think so; with a starter and a salad two, potentially three dumpling plates will do you. This isn’t Yum Cha were the dumplings are steamed by the dozen and rolled out plain, you get interesting sauces and accompaniments to match each. Would definitely return.

24 hours ago I would have openly stated: I HATEDUMPLINGS! But NOMORE! No more! Charlie Dumpling you changed my life! We walked in at 6:30 to a great table nestled away from the crowds. Looking at the menu I was a little overwhelmed, but I promised I would try something new. An easy choice was fried chicken ribs. The crispest little bundles of yum ever. I was almost 100% sure they couldn’t be beaten. But then came out out Peking Duck, crispy skin chicken and Lamb dumplings. The star of the show is defs the Peking Duck but all were delicious and although I was full I was super excited to try the dessert dumplings that were the real reason I agreed to come. There are three options but we decided we didn’t «need» all three. So we settled with peanut Mochi with salted chocolate, banana & honeycomb. Thumbs Up! Followed by milk chocolate dumplings with raspberry chilli sorbet. WINNER! But seriously, the service was some of the best I’ve experienced in recent time. Such friendly helpful staff, they’re a credit to Charlie himself whoever he may be! Do yourself a favour and give it a go. But beware, it’s popular and busy but that’s because it’s so dam good!

This place is good. And by good, I mean really frickin’ good. The fried chicken ribs are the stuff that dreams are made of. So sticky, so good, so moreish — even writing about them is giving me delightful flashbacks that make me want to go back right this instant. Add to that the the pork buns, the beef gyoza and the pork belly bao and I questions anyone’s ability not to want to order seconds of EVERYTHING. My only complaint is that they cram too many people into such a small space. Be prepared for lots of bodily contact as you try to make your way towards the back or the resaurant or the bathroom. No dinner reservations taken but we only had to wait about 20 minutes at 6.30 on a Thursday night.
