Somehow always end up here. It’s pricey, but they have a good selection of booze. At for the first time here — was craving fish ‘n chips. Also got a piña colada Drink came out shaken, not blended(ew). Came with burnt mashed peas. Was otherwise fine, but not worth the 12 euros. Went in one night to find it packed with old dudes and a cover band butchering Tina Turner. Not fun. So don’t eat here or show up for the entertainment. Do come for a whiskey or nine.

Respectable Irish pub with a decent beer selection close to the beautiful central train station in Antwerp. I had a Hoegaarden because, yeah it’s an Irish pub but it’s in Antwerp so, yah. I also had fish and chips — portion was big but I wasn’t crazy about the batter/preparation. Too fry-ey, not flavorful enough. Service was fast and friendly. Bonus for showing the U.S. Football divisional game on several enormous tvs. Too bad the Dallas Cowboys got robbed.

I was back at Kelly’s Irish Pub yesterday to grab a beer and have some lunch and it was perfect as always. The food was delicious and the staff behind the bar friendly as always! If you want to drink a beer and have a good time this is the place to be in Antwerp!

«We’re closer to Ireland, so it’s gotta be more legit here!» -«Fine, I’m convinced. Let’s go.» Pricier than other pub food, but you get what ya pay for. Bangers and Mash were legit. I always heard American portions were huge, but no way was this a meal for one person. Another friend got the shepherd’s pie(or is it cottage pie?) and loved it. There’s a big vending machine where you can get snacks or souvenirs, including T-shirts! Staff was mighty fluent in English, so of course they had menus for us yanks. I didn’t come here to drink, but everyone who did looked like they had a blast. I’m not sure how much it had cost them, but many customers had a board of beers brought out. It looked like a paddle with holes to set 6 small glasses in, and people were racing to finish them! Outside(this was in March), my friends and I engaged in a massive snowball fight, something that the scorching, desert climate of our home never allows. I didn’t care that my bare hands went numb, we all had a blast while locals gave us silly looks. Antwerp police cruised by slowly, and my heart sank a bit. Until they just stopped to laugh with us and all the fun we were having. My sigh of relief was visible in the snowy night air, huddled behind the makeshift barrier on the back patio. Unforgettable. Places like these are what being young and having fun are all about.
