This place deserves the 5-star rating. The fish and chips will likely make you re-evaluate all the previous fish and chips you’ve had before. The fish is made to order(i.e. you can see that it gets dipped in milk/egg, flour added, and then fried). The chips are fresh and delicious(like most in Belgium). Try the gravy and/or mushy peas as an add-on. The owner is friendly, outgoing, genuinely interested in his customers, and humble. It seems like the place is very popular at lunch and quieter at dinner.

Me and my little sisters have been here a couple times now, and we love it! A nice and easy option if you’re in Waterloo and it’s truly traditional fish and chips. The menu has a little bit of everything on it including pies and sides like mushy peas. I’ve been very happy with just cod and chips each time now. It’s also one of the only places I’ve found botanical rose lemonade in Belgium!

Y sommes allés un soir en famille. Super frais, fait maison, trop bon, croustillant et un patron derrière le comptoir, absolument charmant et accueillant, avec qui entamer un(très long) brin de causette fut un vrai plaisir !! Un super moment.

Updated Oct 25, 2015 Went here again on a cold Saturday as my Parents were in town and I wanted them to check out the BEST traditional fish n chips place in Brussels. It was again another great food and service experience and we got to sit upstairs in the new dining area. We got x2 fish sandwiches and one plaice and chips. Then an awesome surprise! Watson’s has a secret menu option — the best darn battered shrimp(aka scampi) I have ever had! They were plump, juicy, tasted salty-fresh from the sea, and the batter was satisfyingly crunchy. I would totally recommend and can’t wait to come back again. PS — we also had the rum n raisin ice-cream to share and the Fentiman’s drinks, all just so good, made me want to dance in my seat(shout out to Jo El S, Unilocaler from FL for that awesome phrase) __________ Yay! I finally got to taste the ice-creams and it was _so_worth the wait! My mum is visiting me and so went here on a Sunday(and got there around opening time which was good to get a table, cause gosh, the place got busy super quickly!) I got a fish burger which was just awesome. It’s a soft bun with tarter sauce wrapped around a crisp, hot, flakey piece of fish — yummy deliciousness in each bite! Mum got the Plaice with chips but took a bite from me and decided she wants the fish burger when we come back next time. And woot, there is now a squeeze tomato ketchup bottle! So happy as could slather my chips in the red stuff! Now to the impt part of this updated review — there was ice-cream in stock! If you have read my previous reviews of Watsons, you will note my lamenting that on each previous visit, I could see a display of ice-cream containers in that gorgeous Tiffany blue color, but they were always out of stock when I came. Well this time, there were 5 flavours,(only 1 left of chocolate which I decided to take away) but to eat in, I got the strawberry and mum got the rum n raisin. First, I gotta admit how impressed I was with the ingredients for the strawberry ice-cream, cause it consisted of just 4 ingredients — cream, milk, sugar, strawberries! Wow, how good and pure and natural is that? And the taste doesn’t disappoint either — it was creamy and rich and I got a piece of fruit with pretty much each spoon, but for some reason, I liked the rum n raisin more while mum liked the strawberry more, so we switched. So my new flavour had 5 ingredients — cream, milk, vanilla bean, raisin and rum! I loved the taste of the rum they used — it tasted really strong and tart, and not like a cheap flavoring taste that you can sometimes feel coating your tongue when eating inferior ice-creams. The cost was € 4 each, so a bit expensive, but def worth it! I would absolutely recommend! Oh, by the way, for drinks, Watson’s now has two types of typical British soft drinks available — in a can for € 1.50 and in a bottle for € 2.50. I got the can and wasn’t that impressed with the taste, will stick with bottle brand which is Fentimans and their drinks are fermented, so u def get what you pay for! Will return back, and there is dining options available upstairs now, so will try it out.

SODELICIOUS! Yes that good! We were dying for some good fish and chips and this was the place! Thick pieces of North Atlantic Cod, this was the place to eat! I was starving after my WOD, I was dying for some good lunch! If you are in Belgium, come here for some authentic British fish and chips. The owner is a great guy and knows what he is doing. Ge there early, the lunch rush gets busy. But it is still worth the wait. I will be back! FYI, the kids portion just has less chips!

Excellent fish & chips shop. Already been back to eat there 3 or 4 times and always good. Batter is light and crispy. Chips are perfectly cooked. Battered sausages are also very good. Friendly atmosphere. Eat in or take away. Parking usually available in front or on the corner side street.
