First of all. The location of this restaurant is a bit hard to find if you don’t know the area. However, this is a place that you need to go to. I’ve eaten fish all over the world and this restaurant serves some of the best fish dishes. I only pretty much only get 2 plates here whenever I am in town. I either get the paella for 2 or the Bacalhau de Toca(cod dish) for 2. The bacalhau de Toca is always my first choice. They cook the cod in a tomato broth with onions, tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, potatoes and olives in a clay pot. The flavor is fantastic and the fish is tender and melts like butter when you bite into it. They give you a side plate of rice(the rice changes each time that I go but it’s not white rice) to go with this. The mixture of everything together is unbelievable. The paella plate is gigantic and is enough dinner for like about 4 days. I’ve tried a lot of the main courses(prato principal) here but those two are my favorite and my go to dishes. For an appetizer, I suggest either the oysters or the bolinhos de bacalhau(Deep Fried balls of cod). They give you lime to go with the bolinhos de bacalhau and the breading they use is fresh and light. This restaurant is, in my opinion, the best in Florianopolis. They are not open for dinner on Sundays and not open on Mondays so schedule wisely. I will say that you will be paying quite a bit when you come here but it is one of the places to splurge.
