Chon Kou

Se vc acha que sabe o que é comer em um restaurante chinês BOM, está enganado! O Chon kou te leva pra china mesmo, ainda mais se vc vc se sebtar em seu unterior… o cardápio, a forma de servir… Antigamente quando eu era pequenininha era muuuuuito mais tradicional mas hoje em dia ainda é uma maravilha e a banana caramelada deles naõ existe nada igual… fora o chop suey com amendoim deles… ja vi poucos por ai… a maioria nao é como o deles! Perfeitoooook!Amo

Excellent food. We are vegetarians and the food was really good. We have veggie chop suey, braised bran curd with veggies, and fried noodles with veggies !! Definitely recommend!

Don’t think any Chinese would call this Chinese food, but at the same time, thankful that there is this option of oriental-​like food at a convenient enough of a location. Portion sizes are fairly big.
I myself been there a few times. Standard order is usually either fried rice or fried noodles (decent), sour and spicy soup (not too good but there is the Asian-​ness in me that requires some soup or other) and their seafood & vegetable hotplate (which is not bad).
Ordered their sweet and sour pork once and it was horrid :(

The food was good. This is not North American Chinese food, but not too far from it. It was the only Chinese restaurant we saw on the copacabana strip.
We arrived late-​ish, but the kitchen was still open and they served us promptly. Each main was enough for two, so consider sharing.
When the check came, we noticed that there was an error, basically they doubled the number of appetizers and mains from our order. Not sure if it was done on purpose or not, so norteamericanos check your bill for accuracy!

Good food and great view. We got there early enough to get a table by the window overlooking Copacabana beach. Menu has English, Portuguese and Chinese characters describing every dish, so don’t worry about getting an order lost in translation. Only downside is that the tables are a bit small and close together.

Everything on the menu is fresh and absolutely delicious! Since I eat Chinese food at least twice a week back home in Virginia, the food was lacking a little something… I’m assuming it’s the MSG, the made-​hours-​ahead noodles and the loads of extra sauce (which most Americans do NOT need in their diets)
Food was on point. Service was good. Location was amazing. I will defiantly be returning to this place next time I have a craving for Chinese food.

Chinese food. Not great Chinese food, but definitely Chinese food, near my house, in a town where getting anything other than standard Carioca fare usually involves some mode of transportation. Mu Shu pork is pretty solid, and well priced at 50 reais for a portion that easily serves two.
For me, this place is a 5 because of the location. For you, if you’re craving Chinese food, it’s easily a 4. Chinese food.

Pleasant waiters helped us to seats overlooking the beach. The menu is in Portuguese, English, Japanese and Chinese. Good choice of dishes, but not entirely authentic Chinese. Nevertheless still delicious.

Uma tarefa difícil é achar um restaurante chinês no Rio, por recomendação e vontade de comer uma boa comida chinesa viemos parar aqui!
Eu queria dar 3 estrelas e meia, porque ao mesmo tempo que amei meu veggie noodles com um tofu cremoso maravilhoso, que poucas vezes comi, a insatisfação no outro prato que pedimos foi total, grande desapontamento.
O Crispy Duck, que em restaurantes chineses tradicionais é maravilhoso, aqui foi incrivelmente ruim. Era simplesmente pato frito, bem ressecado, sem sabor nenhum. Nenhum molho pra acompanhar muito menos as panquecas que tradicionalmente acompanham esse prato junto de alguns vegetais.
Em contrapartida, meu noodles estava maravilhoso. Vegetais fresquinhos, saborosos, massa de noodles caseira e tofu cremoso delicia, voltaria só por ele!
Minha nota seria 3 e meia pois, se apresentam um prato com ótima qualidade deveriam manter o padrão em todos e não servir algo totalmente horrível como aquele pato! :(

A primeira vez que estive aqui foi no carnaval, com um grupo de amigas. Antes de finalmente subir as escadas que dão acesso ao salão, eu sempre passava na frente do restaurante, que fica em uma sobreloja na Avenida Atlântica, e pensava que precisava conhecer, já que a vista do lugar parecia ser (e de fato é) incrível. Não precisamos olhar muito o cardápio para escolher o que queríamos: o sugestivo Ninho de Passarinho, um clássico da casa, que funciona no mesmo local há quatro décadas.
Mentalize bem: uma cesta feita de batata palha serve de abrigo para uma mistura que leva camarão, lula, frango, carne, vegetais e ovo de codorna, tudo envolto por um molho delicioso. Só de descrever já me dá vontade de voltar lá! O custo benefício é altíssimo, já que ele sai por 60 reais, mas serve bem três pessoas. Todo mundo achou a iguaria deliciosa. O único porém (e por isso tirei uma estrela do lugar), é que minha amiga acabou mordendo um pequeno pedaço de plástico durante a refeição. Reclamamos e ganhamos a sobremesa de graça (abacaxi caramelado, delicioso).
Esse probleminha à parte, o restaurante também é bem bacana para uma noite a dois, já que tem uma linda vista da Praia de Copacabana. A decoração com motivos chineses é bem pesada e os donos são familiares do fundador do restaurante, que faleceu há cerca de quinze anos.
