Yum yum yum! Came here when I was in Rio, on the suggestion of a cab driver. We were a group of 5 and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, but they eventually opened up the second floor and let us go up there. As expected, there are two parts to dining at the churrascaria. The first is a buffet, where you can get fruits, veggies, like 10 different types of rice, and other foods like fruit sushi! My favorite was the creamy rice… so good it makes your hair stand on end! The second part is where the servers walk around with different meats and fish on a stick, and if you want some, cut off a piece on your plate. I stuck with beef and pork, especially since there are cuts of meat in Brazil that we don’t have in the states! The most famous one is called picanha — definitely try that! There were a couple pieces of meat that were so good(especially with the creamy rice) that I started crying. Legitimately started crying the food was so good! And the best part is that the meal isn’t very expensive. If you’re a meat eater, come here hungry!

Stopped in for an early dinner around 5 pm on our last night in Rio. It was recommended by our hosts. We had the buffet and the various meat options were delivered to our table. The staff seemed to be on break and were sitting at tables in the back getting far better service than us. It was nothing like Churassaria Palace where the food was non-stop. Instead we had to ask for items to be brought over. I did finally get the fish I requested. If we visited again, I’d try a later time. .maybe 7−8pm. The price was significantly lower than churrascaria palace.

For rs78 it does what it says on the tin. You sit there, a horde of waiters bring over sizzling, glistening skewers of meat, and you eat til youre fit to burst. It wasnt the greatest dining experience of my life, and the meat is a little over-salty for a european pallet, but it was fair enough… EDIT — just went to Churrascaria Palace. It was about 20x better. Just shell out the extra 40rs and enjoy a cut above. Seriously, if yr gonna treat yourself, go whole hog, you deserve it, baby.

Customer service is possibly the worst I have had. Meat is good(but salty as is how they prepare and season their meat in Rio). The servers that served the meat were the only professionals of the restaurant. The GM was rude and appeared annoyed by customer’s request for refills or silver wear etc. They rushed us through our meal. Another side note: The streets of Rio were flooding quickly on the night that we visited and, again, instead of offering assistance, the GM rushed customers in and out regardless of the extreme conditions. I would not recommend!

Epic meal for about 100USD. I would highly recommend checking this place out if your in Rio. It’s right on copacabana and is one of the original places. Very good food, and the service was stellar. Wine selection was also very impressive. Go for a south American wine if you elect to get a bottle, just a rec!

All I can say is WOW! This place is very under rated. Much better(and cheaper) than some of the ritzier upscale places in town. Will most definitely return during future travels to RDJ.

So impressed by this Brazilian steakhouse. A group of friends and I went to celebrate 2 birthdays. Pro tip: they have a coupon to print out on their website for a $ 55R meal! You start out by heading to the salad bar — but don’t you dare fill up or fill your plate. After you sit down, waiters with skewers of meat come by like wildfire. I found one particular meat I liked and I just loaded up every time that one came by. Don’t feel bad saying no to something and don’t be afraid to try something new! They also set out cinnamon bananas, onion rings and French fries –but once again don’t fill up – you’re there for the meat! This is one of the cheaper steakhouses in Rio and it does not disappoint. Yum!

Good was very good. The salad bar is fresh with lots of great selections!!! The staff was friendly and the meat never stopped coming. The rump steak was tender as well as the bife de chorizo. The desserts were very good!

So you’ve come to Copacabana Beach, and you’re looking for a Brazilian steak house. You should know, this isn’t Fogo de Chaõ. The quality of the food is passable, and the flavor is good. However, it’s not a five star experience. The service is quite good. They’re extremely attentive to your needs as you would expect from any steak house of this style. I found the various meats brought around to be a bit dry. The pork was almost inedible. The chicken was succulent for the first centimeter, but closer to the bone could get stuck in your throat — backwards of the expectation. One cut of beef had an odd flavor, so I didn’t eat more than a bite or two. I did like the sausage. There was one fattier cut of beef which was quite nice. I enjoyed a few bites, but never saw it come around again. The highlight of the meal was the banana. It was perfectly cooked, and just a hint of honey. It was so good, I had them bring another. Yum!

I’m giving this place 4 for the food, not the service. When in Rio I definitely recommend trying a Churrascaria at least once and this place is very well known. Make sure you warm up your stomach and don’t snack too much before visiting this place because you will eat a LOT. Basically the idea is you sit down and they give you a little card that says ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Yes being ‘please give me more delicious meat’ and no meaning ‘i just had to undo the top button on my pants, I can’t eat anymore’. You leave it on the table whichever way up you feel. Waiters come round with all sorts of delicious cuts of meat and carve it right onto your plate. They keep coming… and coming… it’s never ending. You get your money’s worth! There’s a salad bar which is really fresh and delicious but don’t fill up to much on the salad– leave room for the meat! They also bring you an assortment of things for the table– mainly carbs because boy do Brazilians love their carbs! Potatoes, rice, caramelised plantains etc. Can’t fault the food and went here twice in Copcabana. However the second time one of the waiters was incredibly rude and since we couldn’t understand Portuguese we just couldn’t understand why. Basically we kept refusing the meat coming round and then he would get really upset– he might have been implying we ate too much salad? I don’t know. It was all very odd but he seemed quite angry and it made the experience seem very uncomfortable. All the other waiters were fine.

We came here our first night in Brazil: It was like living inside a Quentin Tarantino movie — «an experience of a kind». For starters, it was packed outside, a crowd of approximately 40 people were waiting outside hungrily eyeing the door and all the delicious food inside. And the food was definitely something worth glaring at: imagine any kind of meat you can think of, hot, fresh and boiling hot on a skewer, paraded around and being brought to your table by a waiter who looks like a model. Not bad, right ? Upon accessing the situation that immediately this is the place where we wanted to eat on our first night in Brazil, we joined the angry crowd. I approached the hostess standing outside of the door and asked her how long was the wait — she said: «20 minutes». Her facial expression was alive and showed the signs of great emotional drama and intellect. I later understood that this was all an act. An hour into our waiting, I come to realize that: «20 minutes» was the only expression she knew in english and cheerfully recited this highly regarded phrase to any english speaking tourist like a well trained monkey. All our complaints of long wait were met with: «20 minutes» and at some point our blood sugar began dropping so low that my LA-raised, nutrition obsessed, fitness junkie husband considered eating junk food just for the sake of eating something. 1.5 hours later into the wait a group of Russian mobs showed up and in the true Russian tradition cursed everyone out and decided that offering the restaurant manager money and bribing him would surely secure them seat and get them ahead of everyone else. The sum they agreed on was 1500 hundred dollars and it must have been a magic number because shortly enough I saw these newcomer party being taken ahead all of us starved and confused people, waiting outside. At last our turn came and it was well worth the wait: the food was fantastic. Big tip for the american tourists: the number they write in the corner on the ticket they hand you when you wait — is not your slot, it’s the number of people in your party. Your actual waiting number if the last 2 digit of the ticket number printed on the ticket. So before making a huge scene because your number 4 ticket was ignored and someone else taken in front of you, realize it’s because the four of you(perhaps your parents and your wife) have a ticket number 20, not number 4 and it’s not your turn, lol.

From past experience, I would say that restaurants included in a tour do not serve very good food. However, this place definitely broke that stigma. This was my first time at a churrascaria styled restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious! Our tour guide gave us a helpful hint that we shouldn’t load up our plates with their self serve buffet since they meats were brought to you once you’re seated. The less room you have on your plate, the less meat you get. And lets be honest, if you’re at a churrascaria, you’re there for the meat! There was so many different types of meat, it was hard to keep up with what was what. Aside from the meats, their empanadas were a freaking absolute delight! They are still on the back of my mind, super warm and cheesy! I wish they came back around with that stuff, but unfortunately they did not :(At the end of lunch, my stomach was about ready to explode, but i’d say it would have been worth it! Don’t forget to turn the green tab to red once you’re done, or else the meat will just keep coming! If you’re planning a trip to Rio, I would highly recommend checking out this place!

I was pleasantly surprised when we were brought here by our tour guide. When I knew our all day tour included a churrascaria lunch, I thought they’d take us to a cheesy one. I did some research and I knew this was one of the good ones but I’m quite certain we got a special«tour group» version of that lunch. They took us to the top floor. I believe it was the 3rd. The buffet area was smaller and we got a small plate of ice cream with fruit for dessert but we did get the all the good steaks. We got such a good deal with our tour but if we hadn’t done it(highly unlikely), I think I would have came to this restaurant and paid regular price.

If you happen to be in Copa, this is the place to go! Fogo is better advertised and seems to be worldwide these days but it cannot touch this place in terms of quality and deliciousness of the food. Great staff that speaks English and my god the steaks and sausages were incredible. EATHERE!!!
