Diagonal Leblon

Nice bar on one of the busiest streets of Leblon. They have a big menu with the typical bar snacks. We had a nice filet aperitivo acebolada and a very good frango acebolada com alho… and lots of beer. Friendly waiters and a good spot to watch the people pass.

Had a great meal and beer and service. Nice for people watching or watching sports. Close to the beach… would recommend.

Good Food and service. The price is ok also. Good place to eat at the lunch or drink a beer.

Something must have gone seriously wrong, but no matter, I left Diagonal with no food after 45 minutes of waiting. The only thing in their defense was that this was New Year’s Day, and they could have been seriously understaffed.
Ordered a margherita pizza for me and two friends, and Cokes to drink. That was after waiting 5+ minutes for the waiter to come to our table. He took our order, never came back. We looked around, but stopped short of going into the office/​kitchen area since none of us speak fluent Portuguese. It was easier to leave $R15 on the table for the cokes and leave after 45 minutes.
Relaxing at a nice café is perfect for a tourist, but relaxing for this long is unacceptable.

Average streetside café in Leblon. Not bad, but not great. Service was a plus, in comparison to other businesses in the area. They were very helpful and patient with the occasional language barrier, were always buzzing around and got us our drinks very fast within ordering. The portions are HUGE and the price isn’t too bad either. It’s right on the street so great for people watching if you need it. There were not many «negatives» per se, just nothing special. If I needed a bite or watch a footie game and there was a seat available I wouldn’t hesitate to sit down again. Also they have a good variety of healthy options as well such as grilled chicken, various salads, and various assortment of vegetables. I would probably make this a 3.5 star review but 4 is a bit too hefty. End of the day, would I come here again? Probably, but I wouldn’t make it a point to do so. However if you are having problems with the language barrier you may prioritize this higher on your list as they seem to cater to tourists better than others in the area.

The food was ok. Not the best pizza or pasta I tasted in Rio. They do have big portions which is a plus. It is in a great location, but if you go during the lunch time, make sure they charge you the right price. We went in because of the pricing shown outside, but when we got the bill, they charged us a different pricing.

Localizado na rua mais boêmia do Leblon, o Diagonal é uma mistura de bar/​restaurante/​pizzaria, onde tudo é bem gostoso!
A decoração é bem simples, mas a vista para a rua movimentada é agradável. O local é bastante frequentado por artistas e possui um clima altamente descontraído. Gosto bastante de ir lá com os amigos para tomar um chope gelado e pedir as maravilhosas pizzas, que são o forte do local, feitas na pedra.
Recomendo também os pasteis de carne, camarão e queijo e as caipifrutas, principalmente as de kiwi e de lima.
O bom é que o Diagonal fica aberto até de madrugada, sendo uma ótima opção para encerrar a noite, já que a maioria dos bares no rio ficam aberto até às 2h, no máximo.
O atendimento é um pouco lento, pois a casa fica bastante cheia, mas não atrapalha em nada o bom divertimento.
