Great place very close to the beach and with lots of light/healthy options on the menu(including some vegetarian dishes). Everything they serve is delicious. This has been one of my favourite restaurants in Rio for many years. Perfect for different occasions — coming straight from the beach for lunch or dressing up for gourmet dinner.

Great place saving the vegetarians! The mushroom risotto is to die for. Great falafel too! They have other vegetarian options too like the eggplant sandwich. Service is slow though.

This place came highly recommended from a helper while in Brazil and I must say this spot is very trendy like NY. The food and drinks were good. When in Brazil make sure you check out this spot in Ipanema!

Interesting menu and great drink selection. Popular place, but did not feel crowded or loud. Plenty of outdoor seating to take in the balmy night air, and a great place to people watch. Service here was also much better than most places in Rio. Everything we tried was delicious! To start we had: the soup of the day, a creamy bisque of pumpkin, squash, potato, and herbs; and also the wild mushroom carpaccio with fresh baby greens and thinly sliced Parmesan. The portions of the appetizers were generous so we decided to get another appetizer each for the main dish. Tuna tartare and steak tartare. Everything was impeccably seasoned and fresh. Topped it off with house-made gelato, for a cool finish to a delightful meal.

Five for the gelatos, 3.5 for the food, which is good, but with such a diverse menu hard to be great. The gelato though, 5 stars all the way, i love the chocolate with orange. The meals aspire to a range of international cuisines — we live in dc so if we want thai curry we get an awesome one at our local thai place, and not what were looking for in rio — but this can be largely my own prejudice, as i remember loving their food when i used to live in brazil(and was eating brazilian every day and eager for a break — now in rio i prefer the por kilo places…) nice caipirinha variations, rather child friendly with outdoor seating, but getting little one up to the bathroom a challenge.

The ambiance is very charming and romantic. This isn’t a typical Brazilian restaurant, which is great because if gives you more options other than rice, fries. Their menu has great varieties, and you can see it in the photo. I don’t understand why Brazilian restaurants don’t invest on a website and show their prices online. They have potential and should invest on a website that actually shows off how great this place is. My husband and I ordered 2 entrees and shared. We ordered the vegetable lasagna for R$ 36, which was really good. In my opinion it should be hotter(it was just warm), tasty though; and the flank steak with roasted potato, chimichurri sauce and grilled vegetables for R$ 54(TODIEFOR). The vegetables were crunchy and very tasty. For dessert, they’ve got a huge selection of gourmet gelato and sorbet, but if you don’t feel like that, go for the brownies! We ordered fresh squeezed OJ(R$ 10) and sparkling water(R$ 5). Total was R$ 105 + 10% for tips and R$ 1 for donation they already add to the bill. I asked about the no profit organization and they explained it was about the environment. Service is slow. They never came to check on us and ask if everything was fine. Although waiters were nice and friendly and were not attentive. I recommend sitting inside because of the unpleasant odors(Rio problems). It’s very expensive, so I recommend it if you want to go out on a nice date to celebrate something.

Loved everything about this cute gem. Great service, fast and attentive, great atmosphere and ambiance. Really enjoyed the lounge type French music playing in the background. Really helped the cool, relaxed vibe of the place. We state off with drinks! I ordered the Felice Martini– seriously yummy! Hubby had his Jameson and ginger, and the BF order a Malbec — served chilled which he didn’t like. It should be room temperature. We ordered the falafel to start, these were good. Then we ordered the entrees: –Grilled Salmon, caprese salad & baked potato –Special Rib Eye, empanadas, & mashed potatoes –Beef tenderloin, grilled veggies & Cesar salad Seriously everything was perfection. So good, light and healthy. Nice balance of portions and beautiful presentations. We are totally coming back to enjoy another meal before we leave! Oh and the deserts! YUMMY! I have been craving cheesecake so we order one and the BF had the pistachio gelato. It got busy later in the evening, the place was packed when we left at about 9:30pm. You must stop in if you are hungry!

Nice, stylish café a block away from the Ipanema beach. The burgers and steaks are good as are the salads — and their gelatti is excellent(they have a chocolate and chili that’s completely amazing). The steak au poivre with pomme frites and caprese salad is a particular favorite of mine. The only thing I might fault is the sometimes aloof staff but, sadly, it’s typical of Rio. But they do have a funny, idiosyncratic way of serving paper napkins using a spoon and fork which is funny to watch. All in all, a great choice.

Eclectic, hip, charming, romantic, chic; Felice Café is all of the above. If you’re looking for a nice dinner in Ipanema and want something that isn’t either super Brazilian or a mega characterization of some other international styles of food, then come here! The menu is varied and interesting without being unbearably large. They have a little something for everyone, and they do it all pretty well. I especially like their substantial salad selection, which is a rarity in Rio. Some memorable dishes I’ve had here are the steaks(grelhados), which are high quality and expertly grilled, and the Thai chicken curry(it’s as close as you’re going to get to anything curry in Rio — just don’t forget to ask for it to be as spicy as possible!). For dessert, they’ve got a huge selection of gourmet gelato and sorbet, but if you don’t feel like that, go for the brownies! The bar seems to be both fully stocked and fully capable. I’ve had friends from the U.S. order drinks I never thought anyone in Brazil would know how to make, and they’ve come out perfectly! The setting is incredibly romantic and as gay-friendly as they come. Inside, my favorite place to sit is upstairs, but on nice days(read: basically every day) I prefer to sit outside on the patio. Be warned, though, there must be a sewage line or something venting somewhere near; if you are seated outside you will definitely notice occasional whiffs of unpleasant odors. In total: great food, great staff, great drinks, great setting. It’s a little surprising how expensive it is, but given its uniqueness I’m happy to pay to come here on a date or for a special dinner with my friends.

I came here because of the Unilocal reviews. Atmosphere: it was really busy when we got there. My wife & I really enjoyed the romantic music & atmosphere. Service: the guy we had serving us was friendly but as the night progressed, he was starting to neglect our table. Food: fantastic. That’s why I’m giving this restaurant 3 stars, because of the food. We ordered a falafel & it was delicious. We also ordered the mixed grill vegetables & grilled beef tenderloin with homemade pasta. Mixed veggies were amazing. The steak & pasta was also delicious. Overall: great food, amazing atmosphere!

This popular ice cream parlor and restaurant offers up simple and basic food. It´s pretty correct, some dishes are special like the Moroccan couscous with shrimp. But don´t go out of your way to have dinner at this restaurant. It can be nice to visit after a long day at Ipanema beach.

Best Falafel ever! I’ve been going to Rio since 2004. I’m sure I remember this location as something else over the years. I’m not sure how I’ve missed it in the past but it will be a destination on every future trip. The staff are super kind, pleasant and engaging. The menu is positively fantastic. Definitely the healthiest meals we had while there. The experience was so good we went there a second day with an international group of friends. The first trip we ordered an appetizer of falafel. OMG were they soft yet crisp. They were so delicious. On our return I ordered the falafel wrap. The salads are fresh and creative. It’s the type of place where you are glad to linger. It’s Rio, let’s face it you are not getting served at a Western pace but this place ensures you enjoy it.

I was really surprised when we stumbled upon the Felice Caffe. We had spent the entire day at the restaurant next to our hotel which involved lots of booze and fried foods, so I wanted a change. I was wanting something a little healthier. I also wanted to take a bit of a seafood break, which isn’t the easiest thing to do in Rio. The restaurant was a short walk from our hotel. All of the outdoor seating was full, but there were plenty of seats to choose from inside. For an appetizer, we shared the falafel. I drowned them in the tahini sauce that comes on the side, and I was immediately happy.(Yes, I realize that falafel is also fried, but it’s a little different than pastel.) For a main dish, I went with a vegetarian lasagna. Tons of vegetables were layered in, making it the perfect meal for me. To be quite honest, I was so into my dish, that I actually paid zero attention to what my husband ordered. Oops! But I do recall him being pleasantly surprised. Definitely a great spot if you want to opt for something a little healthier than usual in the area.

We have found ourselves here 3 times in the last 3 days and will likely be back over our last couple. Food is great, service is inpeccable! They treat guests like royalty in my Mind ! Drink concoctions are delicious, you must try the Icecream cocktails! Fabrizio(bartender) is beyond top notch! It tended to be a icecream, lunch spot during the day, dinner, gay hot spot at night. Either way, it’s always lively, and well worth your visit!

Really enjoyed this place ! Came here because of its proximity to our AirBNB apartment, food was amazing ! If you are a health nut, this was one of the few places in the area(Copacabana/Ipanema) that served non fried non greasy food. Food was incredible, sangria was even better! Pretty pricey(New York prices) but could have been just that it was world cup. The only minus was loud obnoxious american tourists practically screaming and acting like total tools sitting close by and making their conversations known to the world, but it could have been just these two particular hicks. Overall, very good, will return on all subsequent Rio vacations !

Another spot definitely worth checking out is Felice Caffè in Ipanema in Rio. If you’re looking for a bit of a more upscale, chic vibe, with a great wine list, this is where you’ll need to go. They also offer a really nice outside patio, which is where we sat. We started off with a nice bottle of Rose, and I ordered a couple of appetizers as a meal. First, I had the Mahi-Mahi Sashimi(tamarind, passionfruit, cucumber, radish, dill, sprouts). This was really great, the fish tasted fresh, and I really like the accompanying components, a bit of sweet and crunch to mix up the texture. Then, I had the Tuna Tartar(soy sauce, chili, fresh herbs, ginger). I enjoyed this was as well. The soy sauce and chili gave the tuna a nice, savory quality with just a tiny bit of heat.

Great place to come for a drink and a gourmet bite after a day soaking on the beach. Located not even a block from the ocean, this bustling café restaurant attracts locals and tourists around lunch and dinner. If it’s a weekend, you can enjoy brunch there as well, but during the week, breakfast isn’t served. For lunch, I’ve enjoyed the mixed salad plate. You can opt for 4 different salad choices and it’ll arrive like smörgåsbord-style with each variety occupying its own quarter of the plate. I didn’t so much enjoy the mahi-mahi. I found it too fishy and the ginger soy sauce too salty. Ice cream fans can go for one of the many flavor choices offered. Even if you don’t feel like sitting, you can simply order ice cream in a cup or cone and take away. Whether you choose inside or outside seating, there’s always plenty of people watching to be had. Around dinner time, I’ve sat indoors and stared at many of the beautiful gay men who seem to pack the place in couples and groups.

Se a opção for jantar, risotto al funghi é simplesmente delicioso!
