Fantastic steakhouse restaurant. We have come here twice now and the filet mignon is amazing. So flavorful, juicy, and tender. It runs around $ 15US which is on the higher side for Brazil but still under a quarter of what a similar cut would cost you in the US. The portions are generous and the staff is very attentive. They do have an English menu(we were given French on our first visit) so make sure you ask for it. The pasta was a tad over cooked so I would avoid it. The dessert was small but for $ 1US what can you really expect. It was good though.

***Location is not on the corner as indicated on the map. It’s in the middle of the block on Julio de Castilhos, towards the beach*** Good, solid meal for a reasonable price. Everyone loved the fresh grilled chicken. Strong caipirinhas! Kids loved the pasta and the tutu de mineiro(black bean purée). If you can’t come on a Feijoada day, I recommend the special tutu de mineiro plate, which comes with collard greens(«wild cabbage» on the menu).

I think this is as good as low budget can get you for a very good and abundant meal. The place is really nice, a soccer ambient. We ordered two juices, a beer, a caipirinha, a barbecue for two and a spaghetti serving and spent just R$ 120 with tip included. We loved the food and was definitively more that what we could eat(and that’s saying a lot). We are definitively coming back, and everybody should come here at least once in their stay in copacabana/ipanema.

Galeto saboroso com um bom tempero, guarnição de arroz a grega muito bom e os acompanhamentos também. Recomendo voltarei mais vezes. Pedimos um galeto a campanha e com preço justo sem abusos e um ótimo atendimento.

My sister & I had been in Brazil for almost a week and still hadn’t tried feijoada. We made sure to remedy that on a Saturday for lunch. We got to the restaurant and it was busy which is always a good sign. There were also quite a few people ordering the feijoada which we also felt was a good sign. We sat down and ordered right away as we know exactly what we wanted. The server was accommodating and got our order in right away. After a short wait, the food came out. I enjoyed it, but what they say about it was right. It’s definitely very heavy. We weren’t able to finish even half of it because of that. It’s something you have to prepare your gut for, but I really enjoyed the deep flavor of it and can tell it’s a slow cooked item. When I’m back in Brazil, I’ll definitely have to try it again and will prepare accordingly.

My cousin and I ate at Galetos Copa Rio because our hotel was on the next street, and what a surprising gem we found! We had read earlier that feijoada is only made on the weekend, so we randomly saw that word and were reminded that we had the order that right then. The portion was so huge and delicious, now I know why my mother told me that we must get feijoada. There was just so much succulent meat, I have no complaints. The two of us were starving when we arrived, but couldn’t finish it between us!(Because we only had feijoada, I can’t recommend or not recommend their other offerings…) The restaurant itself is nothing special, with plastic tables and everything, but since when does that prevent amazing food from being served? The location is about one street in from Copacabana Beach near Posto 6, so it’s convenient if you’re in Copacabana. Definitely recommend stopping in.
