Restaurante e Bar Corcovado Turístico

When traveling up and down a major tourist spot, you have to make a few concessions:
1.) It’s going to be crowded;
2.) If I want a keepsake, it’s going to be overpriced; and
3.) If I eat something, it’s going to be expensive and horrible.
I’m pleased to report that at the Restaurante Corcovado, only two of the three concessions are correct. If being so close to the sun, dries you out and makes you seek some refreshment, they’ve got you covered. From burgers to fruit to booze, this is a full-​scale restaurant with table service and silverware. I wasn’t expecting any of this. Plus, there’s the added benefit of, you know, one of the most spectacular views in all of Brasil at your fingertips. Surprisingly, I wasn’t in the mood for a drink (IKR!) so I opted for a fresh squeezed juice. They had all sorts of flavors both familiar (cantaloupe, watermelon) and unfamiliar (native Brasilian fruits). I ordered a lime juice and sat down to rest my weary feet. I was concerned that I ordered a too tart concoction that would be difficult to swallow but those fears were for naught. The juice was brilliant: refreshing, healthy, natural, a wee bit pulpy, and served in a chilled glass. As I took sips and glanced down at the world below, I reflected upon how lucky I was to be right there, right then. In the hustle and bustle of seeing all the touristy sites and crossing things off your list, make sure you take some time to actually be in the moment of your experience. If you can take that time and be in the moment with surprisingly good food options (and a view you’ll never forget), even the better.
