What to expect from a whole in the wall Lebanese joint? Radness. Apparently, Byblos used to be a small townhouse which morphed into a restaurant; the garage part of it, became the main dining room, which makes you feel like you are dining outside without being outside, metal lanterns hanging from the walls, wooden tables found in outdoor bars by the beach, Lebanese music, these all will teletransport you somewhere paradisiac. Food: homestyle cooking, wholesome ingredients, beautiful aromas, awesome taste. We ordered: Byblos mix to start, a ‘sampler’ with many appetizers, if not all, ranging from kibe cru(tartar), meat sfihas, escarole sfihas, lebanese salads, to mini kaftas, all very good; chicken with tahini: chicken chunks, along with potato pieces, served with tahini sauce and almonds. Service: very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable; since I don’t drink pop, the waitress kindly suggested their house limeade, made with limes and lime tree leaves. Overall, great atmosphere, great food, and service.
