This park provides a little island of shared community space in the midst of the castle style walls of Jardins mansions. The benches and trees interwoven by a little path are quite sweet and enjoyable for taking a break on a stroll or a run through the neighborhood. The rest of the park elements feel rather random — a giant statue in homage to the park’s namesake, a set of rusted rings and bars for adults to hang from and a tiny play structure for kids. All are nice but in the small space of the park each feels incomplete. Unfortunately(and quite oddly given the amount of security patrolling the neighborhood) I’ve seen vagrants camped out there various times. There are parking spaces surrounding the park, but I’ve never seen them too empty. On weekends the nearby church is packed with weddings and Services, so parking in the area can be quite tough. Not a destination in and of itself but not a bad spot to checkout if you’re nearby.

Esta é uma pérola a ser descoberta. Uma pequena praça escondida no Jardim Europa, mais precisamente na esquina das movimentadas Avenida Brasil e Europa. Bem, para os moradores da região talvez o local não seja tão surpreendente e eles já estejam acostumados. Mas para mim foi uma descoberta. A praça é linda, com árvores, arbustos e gramados muito bem cuidados — uma placa indica que o Grupo Pão de Açúcar é o responsável pela manutenção do lugar. Árvores frondosas e milenares fazem belas sombras em bancos de jardim, ideais para leitura. Uma pequena pista convida a coopers ou caminhadas — e tem até plaquetinhas indicando a metragem, para os atletas se orientarem. Ideal também para passeios com os cães. Ainda, um pequeno playground para crianças, e no centro da praça existe uma casinha de tijolos — o interior está um pouco abandonado, é verdade. E lá dentro dois banheiros — rústicos mas úteis. Em resumo, um belo recanto.
