Great food«high-end» food at a somewhat affordable price. Madklubben Steak is a part of the«madklubben» family of restaurants. At madklubben most things are by choice, and the more choices you make, the more expensive it gets. You get a three-course dinner for 300 kr. which is pretty great, but you will probably want to make some upgrades from the basic set of dishes(the main course being steak of course) raising the price to about 375 kr. on average. For starters I got a sort of crab-salad, then the mandatory steak — a rib-eye in my case — with green beans and red wine sauce. Both were delicious and savory. The main course reminded me of the lovely high-end family dinners my dad does from time to time(he’s a great cook). I’m not sure if the steak, beans, and brown sauce-combo is a Danish thing, but it’s definitely one of my favorites. The dessert was a very sweet ice cream sundae, which I can definitely recommend, but the desserts at Madklubben Steak are pretty standard and only slightly better than the dessert you get most places. The only downside was that we had to wait for about 10 minutes for the waiter to notice us after we had decided on the menu — but I’m a patient guy — and we did sit in corner.

Good service, ok-ish food and nothing more. People are seated too closely, uncomfortably close.

Great service and quality food for the money. A rare combination in Denmark. Highly recommended.

You’re confined to the 300 kroner menu but it’s worth it. Great rib-eye, lovely cheesecake and friendly service. Will be back. It’s also the only restaurant I’ve been to in Copenhagen that has Brewdog on the beer list. Always a plus in my book.

i was a little worried after reading previous reviews, but pleasantly surprised at the service and value for money here. the servers were attentive and nice, contrary to what i’d read, and relatively quick. as for the food, i noticed too late that we weren’t asked how we’d like our steaks but luckily it came back medium rare. it tasted great and was a very generous portion; luckily they met my request for a doggy bag with a smile instead of the confused look that i’ve become used to in denmark. good things: dark & stormy fries wine sauce cheviche ice cream! crab starter not-so-good: gin & tonic creamed spinach(to be fair, good at first but as it cools it becomes gross) pepper sauce will probably come back when i’m craving a steak.

This is definitely one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in the city. Best steakhouse is a tie between here and MASH but for different reasons. I have been here several times with friends, family, etc, and I am just really impressed with the consistency and quality. My favorite dishes are the tartare as a starter, and the green beans as a side dish. of course the house steak is great as well, but that is to be expected. It can be great to come as a group since there is something for everyone and it has a very hyggelig atmosphere. I also really like the giant horse lamp when you fist come into the place. Problem is that with the 3 courses you order, I always leave so full and barely have enough room for dessert. If you are looking for a reasonable priced steak restaurant in the middle of the city with great quality of food, and value for money, I highly recommend this place!
