I had the chicken plate served with salad, warm bread and humus and it was really good(and cheap! 15% student discount helps). I don’t know if it’s because some renovations were going on but the restaurant inside was pretty cold… maybe it’s better to use the take away like most of the customers. In any case, I will come back to try the falafels!

It’s with a heavy heart that I have to downgrade to 3 stars. As Linda F. mentions, the seating area is nicer but the food is just not as good as I remember. Or maybe I just should not have gotten fries. They are not actually fries but small potato wedges and they were incredibly salty and not crispy. My former love here, the falafel, fell a bit flat on its own but was fine in the bread. It went well with the aubergine and pickles but there wasn’t as much hummus as I would have liked. Maybe it would have been better to order falafel just in bread and not in a menu; that salt just burned right through my tongue. Also the whole time I was there one of the guys was sweeping the floor and bumping into chairs and tables loudly and swept right by my feet as well. I would have moved outside but it was raining so I had to settle with the sweeping and the loud music. /:

To be fair I only had the shwarma sandwich in pita bread. It tasted as it should, but it didn’t blow my mind or anything. The wait was a bit long, they take online orders and apparently someone had placed a large order. There is only one person preparing the food, so I do understand why there is a wait. I’m from San Francisco, so I am used to waiting around in a queue for food. But I don’t really think this was worthy of the wait. I’ve had better, but this wasn’t bad, nor good. Just ok is how I would describe it A plus is that they do accept credit cards although they charge 5DKK for foreign cards which isn’t a big deal to me.

They’ve updated their sitting area in the back with a more cozy, exotic vibe with lots of red, mosaics, and low tables. It looks pretty cool. However, the food seems to have dropped a notch. The falafel sandwiches are not as flavourful as I remember them being. Still a good place with friendly service. They also have free hot peppermint tea so you can serve yourself, even comes with fresh mint. =)

Great falafel and salads, best humous in Nørrebro I think. Love the halloumi sandwich here. Always fresh ingredients, just they wish they’d have other bread than the one with completely refined flour.
