Irma is one of supermarket chains in the cooperative COOP. I am a big fan of Kvickly, SuperBrugsen, and Irma because of the quality of their groceries, and COOP’s attitude towards consumption, production methods, animal welfare and so on. Irma you only find in the area of Copenhagen. You can be sure to get a wide selection of gods in Irma, and you are sure to get a good treatment. This Irma at Rantzausgade is among one of the smaller ones, and it is why it do not get the 4th star. Sometimes they have sold out, because they lack space for a big stock. They have a very good fruit and vegetable section. Although they do not have that many choices of organic. The wine section is well know, and they arrange evenings with wine tasting.

well, it’s irma. those that have been living in denmark for a while will know that it is the marks and spencer or the dean and deluca… only like a quarter of the size. this one in particular is pretty good, with nary an empty shelf and a good base of ‘everyday’ products. especially if you use duck fat and goat milk every day. they also have one particular cooler(at the end, towards the breads) that has products that are marked down, usually because it is getting close to the ‘best by’ date. irma is usually pretty expensive, but if you watch the weekly circulars and check out that cooler, it isn’t too bad.
