Overall Score: 4 Service/Ambiance Rating: 4 Food Rating: 4 I went in with a few friends and wanted to redeem the check-in promotion listed on Unilocal. It was quite comedic that the employees and owner were not familiar with the promo. Nevertheless, they were very accommodating and honored it. I’m not too cultured when it comes to coffee, so I won’t comment on that. In terms of the pain au chocolat, there was hardly any chocolate found inside. The cookies are quite nice; they’re large and crispy.

Perfectly situated on cute Balder Plads off the main drag Tagensvej, the Red Roses Café is an adorable respite no matter the weather. Outfitted with with quirky, eclectic décor, this Nørrebro spot is a uniquely Copenhagen experience. Owner Tue is super friendly and is the chef behind the café’s huge and delicious hjemmelavet(housemade) cookies, his specialty. Chewy, crispy, tasty — I’d go back for one of those alone. With excellent coffee, great music on the turn table, games to play and charming atmosphere, Røde Roses Kaffebar was a surprise and delight treat. Also popular in summer are the outdoor tables on the square. Tue organizes a free outdoor Jazz festival in Balder Plads in July. With the colorful playground across the street, a visit to Balder Plads and Røde Roses is great for the whole family.

Let me paint you a picture — imagine a small, cosy, intimate, vintage, delicious coffee shop… Are you done? Well if you are interested in finding that place, I can guarantee you that Røde Roses is all that and more. Best coffee I have found in Copenhagen so far! So, so happy that it is a 3 min walk from my workplace!

I absolutely love Røde Roses Kaffebar. The coffee is really delicious, the space is small, but really well organized, so it can accommodate a lot of people and still be cozy. It’s also slightly tucked away off of Tagensvej, which gives it a bit more of a private feeling. Plus, while I’ve been there, they played really great music(vinyl only) and they accept MobilPay.

What do I like most about Røde Roses kaffebar? It’s hard to chose! Between the friendly service, excellent food for cheap prices and the cosy, retro-like atmosphere, I for one, can’t find anything wrong with this lovely little café in Balders Plads. Maybe the only slightly annoying thing about this place, is the fact that it’s hard to find a free spot by the tables outside on a sunny day. But the fact that they have an outside area in the laid-back square, Balders Plads, at all, only adds to the charm of Røde Roses! Hot tip #1: try a fresh croissant with fruits and cheese! It doesn’t get better than that! Hot tip #2: They have the awesome German coffein-kick of a drink called Fritz cola. Better than a regular Coke, you say?
