Best supermarket for organic food in Copenhagen. They have devoted two areas of the shop for organic food. One in the fruit and vegetables department and one big area for all other kinds of foods. In the dairy department they have a wide selection from Arla, Thise, and Osted. I prefer the jersey milk from Thise. They got fresh bread from Meyer’s bakery. Try the Kanelsnurre(a cinnamon bun), you are not going to regret it.

if you’re looking for organic stuff, this is definitely the place to be; especially when they have 20% off sales. and their bottle return machines eat up almost any bottle or can that’s marked with pant. but the service here… is crap. don’t get me wrong, the cashiers are nice. but a while back, i bought a bike basket which was missing the mounting piece and screws. when i brought it back(with the receipt, duh) and asked about it, the guy said there was nothing he could do. i pointed at a basket that was half-full of the pieces i needed and asked if i could just take one of those. he said no, those were for THOSE bike baskets. then i asked if i could talk to the manager and he said HE was the manager. the thing that bothered me most about this exchange was that he was looking all around the whole time, like the conversation was over even before it had started and he was looking for something else to do. ARGHHH. superbrugsen carries some good products, but experiences like that leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Right around the corner of Griffenfældsgade and Nørrebrogade, lays my favourite supermarket, SuperBrugsen. The said store has some of the nicest service in the city. They always have what I need. The shelves are most of the time packed. The floors are clean and the store is kept tidy the whole day. When it gets busy, the cashiers act fast. They open a couple of new ‘boxes/desks’ and also allow you to pay in the kiosk.
