My wife, son, and I really enjoyed our dinner at Halifax. My wife had a chicken sandwich, and my son and I had burgers. The service and food was very good. The pricing was quite reasonable and the portions were generous(none of us finished our meals). Overall… An enjoyable experience.

The hamburger was good and not so expensive, the normal one, was 125DKK and the black bread was delicious. The tarragona mayo topping was perfect for the fries(maybe too much oily). I will surely come back, smiley waitress and fast service.

We ordered home delivery which arrived 5 minutes after the time slot we had chosen. The food was cold. On the receipt we could see that the food had been prepared at least 45 minutes beforehand. We paid 430kr including 79kr for delivery so were really disappointed. Update: Within a few days of us complaining via e-mail, Halifax had replied offering us full compensation for the meal. Top job, Halifax!

A «top 10 burger joints in Copenhagen”-list recently put Halifax somewhere around number 7, edged away from the top by newer venues often located fashionably close to the popular Meat Packing District. Halifax was one of the first burger joints that helped solidify Copenhagen as a great burger city, and it’s still going strong. I also go for the newer places, like Juicy Burger in the Meat Packing District or Fat Burger on Papirøen, but whenever I want a solid, great burger I come back to Halifax. On top of that they have the greatest french fries in town.

We were heading for the football match at stadium, we thought a quick burger on the corner was going to be easy and sure value. Halifax has good options of different burger(veggie, chicken, different kind of meat). But the more i go to halifax, the less they impress. Even if thw service at the tables is good and very friendly, we are still missing aome love in our plates. I had the chicken with guacamole(very medium taste). My side salad was nothing special, and the beer hardly drinkable. I am disapointed, i was looking foward to having a great plate like the first time i went there at falkoner plads. Hate to pay that much for something medium. But i will give it a try again because ambiance is good!

The quality of the burgers are failing. They’re not as juicy and moist as in other Halifax branches. And fries are like rubber, or hard as stone. I’m sorry that they’re not able to keep the standard when there is a rush… –1 star from my previous review

It was nice to be able to have vegan food. There was only one option though. Tasted fine, could have taste a lot better if they had used seitan and vegan cheese.

This was my first visit to the Danish«gourmet burger”-chain called Halifax burgers. I had looked through their windows on previous occasions, but never felt enchanted by the view and thus never crossed the threshold. But there’s a first time for everything — so I went in the company of my brother. We got a table for four, and while we took our positions, Kenny Loggins’ undying«Highway To The Danger Zone» was blasting through the speakers. Our waitress appeared out of nowhere the second we sat down, wearing a smile in a way that only someone who’s been asked to smile can. Rule number one when you’re visiting a new burger spot is to order their«standard» burger, just like you’d order a cheese pizza at your initial visit to a pizzeria. The name of Halifax’ standard burger is København, named after Copenhagen, the capitol of Denmark. I chose to follow my waitress’ suggestion and got A standard bun, 175 g, medium rare patty, coarse fries and mayo. I had a cola from upcoming Danish brand Sodavandsfabrikken. I did not expect Halifax to serve«underground» beverages and I must say it improved the place’s youthful«bagel boy and cupcake girl”-look. The rest of the clientele were high school aged youngsters, so maybe I was the odd one out. I took the first bite of my burger to the sound of Van Morissons«Brown Eyed Girl». It didn’t come as a great surprise to me that the bun wasn’t as warm as I’d prefer and the party wasn’t juicy enough. The greens were good and fresh and the fries were truly coarse in the best meaning of the word and the mayo was lovely. I hate wasting food and my portion was a tad too big for my hunger. The meal took about 30 minutes to consume which was just fine. The waiter cemented the youthfulness of the place by giving us the kind of candy school kids throw at younger students upon graduation from primary school. We left Halifax kinda satisfied, escorted by «Under Pressure» by Queen and David Bowie.

I like the atmosphere, the taste of the food, and the nice beers. Great choice!!! Great taste!!! Original burgers, the Zurich burger with rösti instead of the top bun is awesome. Maybe the salad on the side could more elaborated.

Over the last year and a half, I’ve been here several times and I think this location has gotten better in terms of food and service. Their fries, which I bemoaned a year ago as being soft, soggy, wedges of disappointment are now very good thick-cut fries. Major improvement. The burgers are still huge and slightly overwhelming, but their dark buns hold up against the amount of filling very well and tastes good together. The service, while always friendly, has gotten much more efficient(especially weekend evenings). The new built-in queueing area is good in that it keeps the cold drafts out and you can hang out at the bar a little more comfortably while you wait for your table. It’s overall pretty good place. Still not an amazing burger(in my opinion), but good enough.

Well, this kind of place falls well into the«gourmet burger-bar» category, if one such exist. inside, the furnishing is nice and clean, with some retro-styled posters and a stucco ceiling featuring the Halifax«H» logo. Something to remember when planning to get a burger at Halifax, is that reserving a table is not possible, so… it’s a bit of a lottery to go there, especially in weekends at about dinner time. Arriving at about 6 pm, the place was well-crowded, but a table for 4 was free at the moment. We got seated in a diner booth, and had the menu and a beverage card, both in danish and english language. The menu was written in a humoristic, non-formal manner, and we had a good laugh reading it. Well, after some 10 minutes we were ready to order, and a smiling waitress took our orders. After 5 minutes the drinks were ready, and another 5 minutes, our burgers arrived. The fries were absolutely fantastic, as was the mashed potatoes one of us ordered. The burgers, fresh and tasty, leaving you with a good feeling of being full, not overly stuffed. The selection of beverages is pretty wide, and while my mates chose soft drinks, i settled for the nice hefeweis beer from a small danish brewery. When we all had finished, i looked around for a waiter who could bring us our bill(we had to get to a concert in a rush), and, like out of the blue, a polite young waiter had seen my request, and brought us the bill and the hand-held credit card device. Summary: This is the place to go, if you want superb quality burgers served with a smile, in a nice environment. Despite being at work on a busy evening, the staff was VERY polite and truly professional.

Burgers are something that Americans do well. Not jus the fast food, but the honest home-made burger. Therefore, this Brit writes not with his own limited credibility, but of that of a man who had four Americans with him to this place. One of the Americans was under a year in age. He was very well looked after that early mid-week evening. Nice chair and friendly service. Anyway, the burgers were up to American standard, which is no small thing. They were child friendly, leaving the Mom happy. They serve a small selection of good beer, which left the Brit happy. I was genuinely rather impressed.
