Breakfast at Pixie most definitely receives 5 stars! Homesick for a good traditional American breakfast with generous portions and all the fixings are what you will find here. I had BOTH the eggs and bacon in addition to their granola with skyr. First of all, the eggs and bacon hit the spot, delicious. However, the parfait is what won me over. It has goji berries, fresh watermelon, berries, nuts, etc. and I can honestly say it is the best granola and yogurt that I have ever had ever. For anyone who doesn’t know skyr is a thicker icelandic style yogurt that resembles greek yogurt but is much more delicious. A little out of the way of downtown copenhagen, but worth the hike!

«Kærlighed & hygge» = love and comfort at Café Pixie. I don’t know if I felt love, but it definitely has that coveted Danish hygge going for it — very charming and quaint inside. On a sunny day, they have a lovely large outdoor seating on cute Bopa Plads in Østerbro. We came early and enjoyed the Morgenkomplet served every day from 08 – 10 before the kitchen opens. A small traditional breakfast buffet with excellent Danish breads, butter, jam, cheeses, soft-boiled eggs, cut sliced meats, yogurt with muesli and fruit. Serve yourself easy and convenient. If you want an excellent craft cappuccino with specialty roasted beans — this is not the place, but coffee was fine.

I went here to do some work on my computer and maybe have a coffee, I sat down and got the menu immediately, then I started working and realized that the waitress had not come for 20 minutes, all this while there were new customers coming and she was attending to them immediately. So I figured maybe she didn’t see me so I attempted waving at her-largely– and still no attention from her, I even got some smiles from what I assume was the manager, who didn’t question why I was sitting there with nothing at my table but a menu. Finally there came a new waiter who I still had to wave to to order myself a cappuccino, which of course took them 10 minutes to make, and it wasn’t even good. I was really disappointed by the service there and won’t be going back soon.

Nice, chilled place. The service is relaxed, not particularly fast, but are you really in a hurry? Food is delicious and the little square is super sweet. I’ve brought a book to read, and I love it. A really chilled hangout café. Their motto is fulfilled: «Love and ‘Hygge’ since 2006»

Pixie is a very dim and cozy restaurant with a large front patio. When I walk by in the evenings I’m always happy to see their twinkling fairy lights and red umbrellas. It definitely is a good looking place. And the food is ok. I’ve only been here for dinner and their chilli con carne is good(well seasoned, good size portion, and comes with a thick slice of bread). The chilli is a much better choice than their burgers, which are large, boring and dry in my opinion. Ok selection of beers on tap. Service is friendly, but very slow. We’ve occasionally been able to fit 6 or 8 people there for dinner, so it’s not a bad place if you need seating for lots of people.

Turned to Pixie this past weekend after a failed attempt to get into Canteen for a 10:30am brunch. We were meeting a friend who lived up in Østerbro and who was familiar with Pixie as a nighttime bar spot. Their brunch menu looking compelling so we opted to give it a try. The inside has a cozy rustic and feel and it seemed like a great place to catch up with friends over a coffee and meal. Had a latte and the veggie brunch. The coffee and bread arrived fairly promptly, however the food service was a bit slow for Copenhagen standards and considering the place was not yet filled. That being said, we were not in a rush and I suppose brunch is supposed to be enjoyed over the course of an hour or two. When the meal came, it was presented in a series of adorable glass jars and lids. The edamame hummus and chocolate spread were the highlights of the meal. The spinach and poached egg combo was nice, but was not extremely notable. The fresh cranberries in the yogurt were a nice touch. All in all, the food and experience was enjoyable, however the bar is set fairly high for brunch in this city(Laundromat Café, Lyst, and Manfred’s to name a few standouts), so brunch at Pixie was just about average. I’m not sure that I would seek out a brunch there again, but I would definitely return to checkout their music and beer scene in the evenings.

This bar boasts a charming appearance complimented by a really very good choice in atmospheric music. Offers some excellent beer. Their Pixie Pilsner was very nice as was the Dark Wheat Stout from the Ingslers brewery. Quite a find so far from the centre of the city!

My only experience with Pixie is the brunch, so this review is as per my brunch-POV. Somehow, I should have maybe shown mercy and granted three stars. It was a Sunday around noon and pretty busy — I know this is a bad time to order brunch but I was hungry and the brunch was recommended on AOK. We(small company of two) ask for seating, and the waitress hands us menus and tell us to go down in the back and see for ourselves if anything is available. Ok then. We get seated and study the menu. I am in for a Pixie brunch and my companion grabs a sandwich with pork. First, we get our coffee — somewhat bitter and not something I would ever pay for — and after a while, our food appears, no bread and no ketchup and syrup. The waitress is gone with the wind before I can get her attention. I then just start eating the mandatory pineapple and melon slices, proceeding with the diminutive glass of yoghurt with fruit chunks and then the barely noticeable slice of ham which is curled up behind the giant slice of cheese(crust and all) that dominates the plate. At least, I get the waitress’ attention, and she brings me the bread basket, the ketchup and the syrup, which enables me to gulch down the dry and uninspired 8 cm excuse for a pancake and the eggs & bacon & sausages(at least the bacon was fried correctly). All in all a pretty limp experience. My companion enjoyed his sandwich though it was a bit on the salty side. When we were nearly done, a family walked in, and in order to make room for everyone, the waitress placed the tables right next to ours. We were seated by the window and thus entrapped, as all the tables were standing really close. This meant that when we got up to exit, we had to practically climb over the poor people, literally getting our a$$es in their faces which may or may not have been a very pleasant experience for them. At other restaurants, you are simply told that there is no room, when there is no room. And a tip for Pixie: Well played with the home-made Nutella, but there are more delicate ways of presenting it than making it look like a chihuahua pooped on the lid of my yoghurt …
