Amazing Japanese food, definitely the best Japanese in Copenhagen. I have been a regular for over 5 years and two things amaze me. The high quality of the food/ingredients and the fact that they always serve something new and inspiring. I have visited NOMA, Geranium etc and they are fantastic, but when it comes to Japanese this is the best I have ever tried and I have dined with CEO from large Japanese Company and he said best Japanese outside Japan… go there if you get the chance and try their menu, lots of amazing food.

Probably the best sushi I ever had! Only reason why they dont get a 5 is because of the staff, they were too few! Our poor waiter ran like crazy over the floor, trying so hard, stressed out. Hire more people and get better reviews! Another thing that took down the rating was the image, they were trying so hard to be fancy that it felt very fake and creepy. It was not a relaxing place for me but I tried to ignore that and enjoy the amazing sushi.

Damindra’s sushi and grilled dishes were very good, a notch above Sticks n Sushi. So why only two stars? Because the service was rude and indifferent. One server seemed almost annoyed that he had to work, the other two servers seemed very inexperienced. High quality food trumped by bad service. Too bad.

Very disappointing. I went for lunch with my family and I wish I would never have gone in there. The place looked really stylish but everything else was absolutely awful. The food was overpriced, and the service was awful. The man serving us was extremely rude and greedy. He kept trying to suggest expensive dishes that we weren’t interested in. And when we asked for tap water he brought bottles of still water that cost 55kr each — without telling us they cost anything at all. He kept coming up to our table suggesting that we should order more food. Not worth a visit.

Not worth a visit! The man serving us was rude and greedy making it a bad experience. For example he made an awful comment to my brother about his weight saying a main meal wouldn’t be enough to make him full. And it only went downhill from there.

Warning — do NOT go here. I had kind of gotten used to bad service in Denmark, but this is beyond bad service. The staff serving the family was incredibly rude, tried to trick us(!) into ordering things we did not want and ended up charging us an extra 20 bucks for something we had not even ordered. At that point, we were just dying to get out of there so we just paid it and left. Very bad experience, seems to be the kind of place that just wants to rip off tourists.

Delicious Japanese fusion, experimental, and sometimes avant-garde :-) Took Chef’s choice of sushi for 398DKK, everything in the menu was tasty, and the following extraordinary: Appetizer — Edamame & seaweed salad Nigiri — Grilled scallop with flying fish roe Futomaki — Crispy tuna I can also heartily recommend the house sake, and lovely cocktails as appetizers. The servicing requires some getting used-to: they recommend to take the same sets for the whole table, forget some of the things(e.g., my sake), and require sometimes too much attention during the presentation of the food. However, they do everything with a smiling face and style, so no big objections or complaints here.

how can i describe the food here? contemporary sushi? fusion sushi? in any case, the menu includes very few ‘plain’ nigiri. but that doesn’t stop damindra from serving good sushi. in fact, this is the only restaurant in copenhagen where i have encountered sea urchin(so far). here it is served as gunkan but with unusual addition of shiso leaf and sesame seeds. the sea eel(anago) was delicious, though there was a lot of it! it is wrapped the whole way around the rice, making for a big bite. the sashimi plate was served with a bright and citrusy ponzu sauce; a little too heavy on flavour for my liking but still nice. that is the ‘problem’ with some of the dishes here; the sauces are tasty but they sometimes overpower the flavour of the fish itself. if you have the money and would like a modern sushi experience, this is a great choice.
