There are so many great things about Mad & Kaffe that it’s hard to know where to begin; therefore, I’ve made a list: — The concept of filling out a sheet of paper with 3, 5, or 7 selections is super cool(note: they have menu papers in English). I would highly recommend doing either 5 or 7. I briefly contemplated selecting 3 items because I wasn’t sure how hungry I would be, but luckily my friend recommended against it & I ordered 5 items(which I found to be the perfect amount of food for me). — The food itself is very delicious and I love that you have so healthier as well as less healthy options so that you can mix/match or do whatever you please. — The atmosphere of Mad & Kaffe is like modern, chill, and hip… all at the same time. Even their dishes are well-designed! I would definitely have given this place 5 stars if the service had been better. I get that they were super busy, but we felt like they were pretty cold to us because we were tourists. Nonetheless, I would definitely shrug it off and come back here if given the chance!

You can’t go wrong here! The space is cute, the menus are adorable m, the staff is very friendly and the food is great! I didn’t love the Croque Monsieur because it had too much Dijon mustard for my taste, but everything else was delicious! Definitely going back!

This place was so cutely decorated! I love the simple menu, it was an easy decision. I thought the 5 stk wouldn’t fill me up because I shared this with someone, but it surprisingly did! The avocado was great and the cream cheese was amazing. The peach ice tea was goood. The mint leaves and mason jar made it even more appealing. Overall, a great, enjoyable breakfast!

Great community café and eatery, very Danish sitting on the corner of a large boulevard in the city suburb of Vesterbro. Mad & Kaffe(quite literally Food & Coffee). Nice contemporary interior and super friendly staff. Outdoor seating for when the weather is fine. Though it can get very busy so we were warned if the weather changed they couldn’t re-seat us inside. You get a small sheet and a pencil with their menu of mix and match pieces and you tick what you want 3 – 7 items ranging from croque monsieur, fried eggs, to pastries and fresh fruit. Drinks are on the back. Ask the food is served in little dishes which looks great but makes for awkward eating especially the fried eggs. My flat white was good though milkier than I would like, closer to a latte. Great to experience a popular local establishment rather than a city central built for tourists place or a Starbuck’s or clone chain.

Unfortunately I have to remove a star since one can no longer reserve a table for breakfast. Booooo! The food is still good with things like a generous serving of bacon and well-seasoned fried eggs, but the fact that I could show up ravenously hungry and not get a table for 45 minutes makes this a less than a 5 star experience for me. Definitely come early if you want a table right away, 10am is risky.

We were lucky enough to be staying only a short walk from M&K, so had brunch here twice as it was good quality, delicious and you could create it your own way. Given a menu sheet and pencil, you can select three, five or seven items from the list and together with a drink(which costs extra), have a meal which is exactly to your liking. Our only minor bugbear was that everything’s served in separate dishes on a wooden board, so there’s not much room to manœuvre(and surely that leaves them with more washing up to do?!) Apart from that, it was superb, especially the servings of avocado, crispy bacon and breads. They state the sausage is chorizo, but to be honest it looked and tasted more like frankfurter to me. They were very busy both times we were there so you can expect to wait a while for your food — thankfully the drinks came out quickly and I’d recommend their apple, carrot and ginger juice. Tip: they will let you know that if you’re sat on a table outside and it starts to rain, then you can’t come inside if there are no seats indoors!

We had breakfast here during our visit to Copenhagen, and we liked it enough that we went there again the next day! I love the breakfast/brunch concept of this place. They give you a piece of paper to tick, and you can either pick 3, 5, or 7 items from the list. You basically build your own brunch. There are plenty of offerings from dairy products to meat and fish, to vegetables, each of them looking lovely and yummy. The place is also very cozy and cute. It relaxes you, I think, just sitting down on one of their chairs against the wall, watching the world go by, while drinking a mason jar of orange juice, that is already therapeutic. The staff is also great: on our second visit, we noticed that one of our items were missing. They immediately rectified the situation, showing how good this place is managed. It is rather popular, so if you’re a late breakfast person, you might have a bit of a wait. We went there on a holiday and we were there the moment they opened, and by the time we exited, the place was already packed.

Great spot for brunch in Copenhagen! Such a fun concept and totally made for Instagram foodie pictures. Everything is super fresh and local. The place was CROWDED, and a bit chaotic. It was just me and my husband and they moved us twice to accommodate other larger groups, which was a bit annoying. It was really fun trying a lot of different little things, the avocado was my favourite and the grapefruit was some of the best I’ve ever had. I think it is a little pricey for the small amount of food you actually receive.

Even though we had to wait for ages(in the snow, in April) for a table, I really enjoyed my brunch here! We arrived around 11 or so on a Saturday morning, and there were tons of people waiting outside, so put our names on the list and went inside to grab a coffee and a pre-brunch snack. The coffee was good, and the cinnamon pastries with chocolate amazing. Then it started snowing, which was good because a lot of people abandoned the list and I guess found somewhere else, but we weren’t going to give up so waited out the snow until we could get a table(after maybe about 45 minutes to an hour. We did have blankets brought outside for us, which was really nice of the waiters, they were all super sweet and kept updating us on the table situation). Brunch itself was good. I chose 5 items: eggs with chives and mushrooms(really good), avocado with chilli oil and almonds(also really good), tomato and mozzarella salad(standard, nothing special), homemade cream cheese and bread(not enough bread for the amount of cream cheese, but it was really yummy), and I tried Øllebrød(I really wanted to love it, but the texture just didn’t sit well with me, but I’m happy I tried it!) My cousin made similar choices, but had the smoked salmon instead of Øllebrød, and I think she liked it. Definitely a good choice if you have a big day planned and want to brunch in a really cute & cosy setting!

So good. Very healthy breakfast. I had the I pick 5 menu and could have eaten more! They breakfast items are served tapas style, but all very good and just the right portions I had to wait about 15min and enjoyed sitting at the table/chairs, sipping coffee watching the local Danes come in/out of this place. A very good sign. Their home made drinks/lemonade/iced tea were outstanding too. Definitely worth coming to/waiting in line for.

Kopenhagen’s Elite member Mads recommended this great place to me and so I went there for lunch last Friday — and didn’t regret it! The place was growded and it was just luck, that I got a nice place outside in the sun. Actually the time I got there was bad. It was around noon and as the brunch time ends at 12 and the lunch time starts at 12.30 I needed to wait a bit for my ordered Burger. I had a house made ginger lemon lemonade with mint and enjoyed the sun in front of the restaurant. What a lovely place to relax and have a nice lunch. By the time my burger arrived I was quiet hungry. I expected much as the reviews have been excellent. And I didn’t expect too much! The burger was just perfect! The bun is like a brioche. Very soft and delicious with the meat. The meat was absolutly perfect cooked. The whole burger was very, very delicious. So was the fries that came with it and the great dillmajo! 177 Kronen for the lemonade and the burger — a very fair price! Thanks Mads for that great tip!

A nice little breakfast spot with a very good selection of nicely prepared foods! The eggs in both preparation styles were really good and the salmon is very good, the home made cream cheese is excellent! Be prepared to wait for at least 30 minutes, but it’s actually worth it! Only little annoyance was that I wasn’t offered sugar for my coffee which could also have been hotter…

Went for brunch, great concept where you can choose either 3, 5 or 7 small plates(prices are respectively 65dkk, 105 dkk and 135dkk) from a nice selection. Ingredients used are of highest quality and at an affordable price. Very popular on the weekend which makes it difficult to find a table, unless you want to go pretty early or wait for a while, but if you have time on your hands do wait! Just remember to take a picture and post it before digging in to make all your friends jealous :)

I took a weekend trip to Copenhagen while I was studying abroad, and this was the best meal we had there! It offers both a warm, quaint inside, and outdoor seating. Even though it was cold out, we decided to sit outside and make use of the blankets they provided us– along with there tasty hot chocolate, we were all surprisingly toasty! This is the ideal brunch spot for someone who doesn’t like making decisions(AKA my entire group of friends) because you decide how many plates you want at a fixed price(3, 5 or 7), and then pick your options! The fried eggs were perfect, and I could not stop eating their sausage– I wish Copenhagen wasn’t so far so I could go back every Sunday :( p.s: an extra bonus: it makes for a great instagram aesthetic ;)

Highly recommended. We ordered the burger, chicken salad toast, tartare toast, double cappuccino and passion fruit iced tea. This restaurant does not need any help in any way. The ingredients are high quality, the service is on point, and each plate had presentation and dynamic flavor. Been in and around Europe for the past two and a half weeks and this was my favorite meal. Wish we had this in the states.

I’ve only been to Mad & Kaffe once, but it will definitely not be the last! I came here to try their breakfast/brunch platters they offer and O M G! YES! ! ! It was so heavenly that I already want it again! Your given a menu where you have the option of choosing either 3, 5 or 7 items. When you’ve chosen what you want you just put an «X» next to each item you want. Their drinks menu is on the backside(Where you just verbally tell the waiter what you want). There were so many options to choose between that it took me a bit to choose! Everything sounded so good. I chose: ½ avocado with chilli oil and baked almonds, organic cinnamon bun, 2 organic fried eggs with chives, fried chorizo sausages, grapefruit with cane sugar, organic lactose-free yogurt with muesli and honey & croque monsieur. For my drink I chose their homemade lemonade with lime, ginger & mint. Everything was SOSOGOOD! My all time favorite item was their ½ avocado with chilli oil and baked almonds. Such a perfect combo! My second favorite was their croque monsieur. Anything bread & cheese and I’m sold! But add ham and mustard and It’s just too good to be true. Also a must try! In conclusion, please go try this if you’re in the Copenhagen area at any point! You won’t regret it. I’m looking forward to trying out their lunch menu next!

The Mad & Kaffee is based on a really nice brunch concept: you get a list of options and fixed prices for choosing 3, 5 or 7 options, no matter which you decide on. The offered palette ranges from simple continental style(bread, butter and jam or scrambled eggs or bacon or yogurt with musli) to sweet treats(cake, muffins) to danish/unusual offerings(for example avocado with chili oil and almonds) to healthy pure fruit(for example grapefruit). Every«dish» you choose is served in a cute, small-sized, colorful bowl and all are assembled on a wooden cutting board. Drinks are served in nice oldschool glasses and the furniture is a cool hipstery flee market mix. All dishes we choose were really good and I consider the prices to be in a reasonable Copenhagen-like price range. Be aware that brunch is only served until 1pm!

Whut? I haven’t written my review yet? Oh well. As others pointed out, this is another place in town that has mix and match brunch style. At first it was interesting, but after trying out the concept awhile in different places in Copenhagen, I feel a bit jaded — proven with the 3 stars I give Mad & Kaffe with this review. We went there on Sunday late autumn but the weather was already cold, and as you expected — none of these places allows table reservation so we had to wait outside for a good half an hour in the cold before we were let in. At first the waitress holding the waiting list was reluctant to write our names in because there were more than 5 names before us, but I insisted and that was a good decision. This place(it was recently named as Byens Bedste Brunch by AOK) was so crowded that the waitress actually told people to go to Café Dyrehaven to have brunch because she wasn’t sure she had tables for them all, but we insisted. Good thing that we could have warm drinks beforehand(chocolate and coffee for us) although I had to go inside several times to make sure our drinks were made. The waiting time was unfortunately painfully long both for the brunch and the coffee & chocolate. Unlike WOGK and Møller’s, these places have more sweet stuff to choose from in their brunch form, which is cool(muffins, anyone?) because some people are into sweet stuff for breakfast although I’d rather sink my teeth into bacon and egg. Food wise it was ok, nothing special — the bacon was good tho!(I remember my bacon at Møller’s was dripping in fat, it was SONOTOK). I like the room(it was small, but you could talk better here as the building’s acoustics is so much better than Møller’s) but the waiting time and the lack of attention from the service made it into just three stars. I get it, they were busy and they were recently named Byens Bedste Brunch and people were just streaming in looking for tables, so maybe I’d give this place a chance in the future, when I am no longer bored of this kind of brunch. Until then…

This is by far the most reviewed place I’ve seen Copenhagen, and I can see why. I came here on a recommendation from a friend, and it was definitely worth it. The restaurant was almost completely full, and many of the people were pretty young. The inside is very warm and filled with conversation. The food and service are both solid. When you enter, you are seated and given a check sheet with the items you are able to order. You can choose from 3, 5, or 7 of the items. It’s a really interesting way to price. I got 5 things, and it was a good portion for filling me up without being too much. [FOOD] ½ Avocado: good and creamy, chili oil was a nice touch 2 Fried Eggs: perfectly cooked, yolk is runny and delicious; couldn’t really taste the chives Chocolate Croissant: I’ve had better; chocolate was pretty weak, croissant was a little flaky(I should have gotten the carrot cake) Fried Chorizo Sausage: comes with 3 sausages, tastes really good, not too oily Croque Monsieur: pretty small but tastes great; amazing couple of bites, cheese is really good Ice Coffee with Hazelnut: amazingly creamy and sweet; I really liked it [OVERALL] The food is great, but when you think about it, paying about $ 3 for half an avocado is overkill. The price is a bit too high for the simple(but delicious) food. It’s a great place for brunch or lunch though if you’re willing to spend the money. ALSO: the drinks are really expensive. I’d recommend not ordering any because ~$ 4 for packet tea is eh. Awesome place though.

The perfect brunch for our short trip to Copenhagen. All they serve in the morning is their brunch for which you choose 3, 5, or 7 items from a big list. If you’re interested in trying as many Danish/Scandinavian foods as you can while traveling, it would be well worth it to order 7 for just a bit more. For reference, each portion is slightly smaller than what you’d get ordering tapas. My wife and I ordered the yoghurt, salmon, breads, carrot muffin, avocado w/mayo, and cheese and marmalade. The avocado and salmon dishes were particularly great. All of the staff were very friendly and smiley and even stopped by the table twice to ensure everything was good(a nice yet somewhat rare behavior in European restaurants). We will definitely return as soon as we can.

This is a very typical hyggelig Vesterbro brunch place. I still do love Café Dyrehaven, but I really love all the choices you get here and how you can build your own breakfast! The tea selection is also very nice. The avocado with chili, scrambled egg with mushrooms and chorizo sausage were my favorites. But everything was super yummy. Between us we almost ordered the whole menu. It’s the perfect spot to catch up with friends on a rainy Saturday!

Hipster café with very cool breakfast format. 3, 5 or 7 items with a checklist to select. The plank of little dishes is very aesthetic and the food is good(especially the blueberry yoghurt and granola). I had the something, apple and ginger juice to drink. The volume of the ginger was turned up to 10, so if you are not a big ginger lover, avoid. It did dominate a little. OK it’s very cool(a queue had already formed outside at 9:45 Sunday morning) but it was a pricey breakfast. You Denmarkers will shrug your shoulders but for us non-Scandinavians, it was an expensive treat. Better value exists out there but it’s still worth trying.

THISPLACEWASSOAMAZING I CANTEVENEXPLAIN. Stumbled upon it on Instagram and it was decided that that was our breakfast destination that morning. We played chess while going through a check menu of what dishes we’d like to have for breakfast. You could pick between 3, 5 or 7. We both decided to go for 5 different ones each. You then fill your name in at the bottom and wait for your food to arrive. The food was simple and yummy. It is a superb concept and for photo lovers like myself an absolute dream. I loved being able to try different dishes. The staff were very friendly and it is easy to see why the place won best café of the year. By the time we left it was packed full but it was one of those cafes that, although very popular, wasn’t too overly full and noisy that it took away for a nice breakfast with your sister. 100% returning!

Copenhagen is super hipster and this place is not an anomaly from the hipster-ness. LOL. The menu here is quite simple — you can choose either 3, or 5, or 7 items from the list you are given. There is a Danish and an English menu you can refer to. I highly recommend, everything. I got the avocado with chili oil, cinnamon bun, two poached eggs with chives, and the two chorizo sausages. My friend got the scrambled eggs, blueberry yogurt & granola, along with smoked salmon. For drinks, I got the homemade lemonade, and my friend got the homemade peach iced tea. I noticed that the carrot-ginger-apple juice was quite popular so I’ll have to try that next time I’m in town. Make sure to get there early, before 9:30AM as it was starting to get packed by the time we left.

Brunch is one of the trendy things many people do here in Copenhagen. Almost every weekend you will see new pictures of bowls of protein and baskets of bread pop up on my Instagram feed. I have got to try it for sure. So it was a perfect time when my friend suggested that we should visit this place. Since it was my first time, I didn’t know which package to order(they got 3, 5 and 7). My friend suggested taking the 5(5 different dishes served on a cutting board.) I liked the concept. I got to choose five different dishes out of Vegetables, Meat & Fish, Dairy, Bread, and Desert(I think). I avoided the dairy because I didn’t think it was lactose-free. Avocado with chili and almond oil was good. The chocolate croissant was excellent(butter and chocolate made a fantastic combination). The smoked salmon was good, but I wish they would have given me more slices. The bacon was tasty as well. I liked that they were not too crunchy. Then the bruschetta with mozzarella, pesto, and small tomatoes was also nice. I still can’t eat crusted bread(it always hurts my mouth). Overall it was a good brunch place. Good thing that you can book a table online on their site.

Another Wulff and Konstali style brunch! But this one has the benefit of reservation, which was one of the few things that made my experience at W&K not perfect. When I want to get brunch with my friends at a set time, I don’t want to have to wait for a table for who knows how long while our stomachs are grumbling. Another nice touch was when I got up to order, a girl stopped me and said she would come to our table to take the order and we could pay after. It took a little while because there were so many guests, but food was constantly flying out of the kitchen. The fresh-pressed orange juice tided me over until we received our cutting boards full of bowls and baskets. The bread was nice, and I was able to stretch it over my breakfast items that needed bread. The two fried eggs were perfectly seasoned and had a sprinkle of chives: this ketchup-addict did not actually need it this time. Sadly the salmon was just two small strips with some radish, but still tasty. I also got the smoked cheese, which was good and quite mild, though the preserves that came with it were a little boring. As for the bacon, you get a huge pile of it! I think there were at least 7 strips of bacon. I would have liked them crispy but hey, it’s bacon! As for the price, it is slightly cheaper than W&K and you can even order 3 things instead of 5 or 7 if you want a smaller breakfast. I am not sure who ripped off who, but I prefer this place. TL;DR: Mad & Kaffe: Takes reservations, more bacon, cheaper, can order fewer items, good service. Wullf & Konstali: More salmon(and that beetroot stuff), more choices(mostly pastries). They could both benefit from putting the eggs in a shallower plate and crisping up the bacon. But still two of the best brunches you can get in Copenhagen… for now!
