Our server was great and gave us some really good suggestions for nearby places to go. The food was pretty good but not exceptional. Inside décor and atmosphere is fabulous, a great place to go for a cocktail or a meal.

Delicious. Cozy. Great cocktails. If you’re a fan of steak, check this place out. Huge space so you won’t have trouble getting a reservation, which I do recommend. Overheard that there’s a 30 minute wait for walk-ins even on a Tuesday night. The service was great and helpful. And there’s some nice touches with the theme of a food club ie. Cutlery in a pot, and bread in a brown paper bag. The prix fix was also a great value. Go for that if you’re of beef!

We went for Valentine’s Day dinner and absolutely loved it. We skipped starters and ordered steak with foie gras and chips for main. I thoroughly enjoyed the sauce and variety of vegetables that the steak came with — everything went so well together that I finished my steak even before I realised it. We also ordered a glass of red, which was phenomenal. Last but not least, the pork crackling that was served on the house at the beginning was the best I had ever had. Service was also impeccable. The waitress was prompt in taking and serving our orders, and she periodically came to check on us – all of which was very impressive given how busy the restaurant got. Last but least, I really liked the ambience. Slightly noisy, but posh and hip at the same time, and great for dates. I would come back for sure if I ever return to Copenhagen.

All in all the food was decent. Just decent. We were sat right next to the kitchen and unfortunately there was a smell of burned seafood for a substantial period of the time we were dining. At times the smell was so thick with burned prawns that the neighboring table complained they could no longer tell how their own wine tasted. I felt the same. The waiter was actually a good guy but unfortunately he flipped a small bowl of ketchup, which ended up in the lab of my friend. In defense of the restaurant, they did actually get us a round of beers for that unfortunate incident.

Visiting Copenhagen from the US and loved the food and atmosphere of this place. It was very modestly priced for the excellent quality of the food and very good, friendly service. Everyone was warm. Went on a Sunday night due to our travels and it was relatively quiet, we had a cozy table in the back. We started with the cheese plate, literally some of the best cheese and crackers and fig spread I’ve ever had. My husband got the burger, loved it. Definitely go for the fries. I got the vegetarian option of the beetroot gnocchi and it was the best meal I’ve had since I’ve been here.

Nice atmosphere, super food! The cocktails was also amazing :) We were 8 persons and needed to wait at the bar for 15 mins, but the bartender was cool enough to watch! The best fish in Europe I’ve ever eaten.

The food, the décor, the friendly waiters are all amazing, but I was most impressed with their dessert — the sundae! Yummmm

Serving pork cracklings as I arrived was a nice and appreciated touch. All the food was tasty but the cauliflower soup with toasted hazelnuts and herb oil was incredible.

Madklubben has become a basic part of Copenhagen. The food is good and not too expensive and the service is kind. The interior is fun and a bit odd at times. Madklubben Vesterbro is down to earth. I’ve been the a couple of times with large groups because they have the space and facilities to accommodate large groups. The minus with that is the noise which can be a bit high. Therefore I would not pick this place for an intimate date. But all in all a nice place with good food which cost won’t cause you to fear a call from the bank.

My best dining experience in Copenhagen. A beautiful restaurant with a world class leading cuisine at affordable prices in pricey Copenhagen. The menu is varied and offers plenty of options. Be mindful that portions are big. I ordered Lamb and a side of potatoes friends that seem never ending. Service is top class and the selection of drinks is also great!

Fun and lively place to go with big groups! To start, the dark interior sets an intimate mood and the rustic design makes it feel homey and welcoming. The open kitchen reminds me a lot of the places in San Francisco. The staff is extremely friendly and genuinely care about your dining experience. We had the Italian red to drink(absolutely delicious and went down smooth) and the Romaine«salad» to start. I use quotes because when our dishes came out, we literally had a stalk of romaine lettuce on our plates, garnished like a garden. Apparently the philosophy here is about letting the customer take control of their dining expierience(sounds like Foucault anyone?) and that means pouring your own wine and cutting your own greens! Though the prices hover on the steep side, you really get what you’re paying for.

It’s been on my list for what feels like forever, and now I finally got around to trying out Madklubben on Vesterbrogade for an early dinner before heading to the theater close by. Our table was very early(17:30, so basically right at opening time) and — as to be expected — it was pretty empty then, but quickly filled up. We were seated and soon ready to order. The service was attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes. Special thanks here for bringing the daily special to my attention — it was Coq au Vin, and it was amazing, so I’m glad I didn’t miss out on that. We got our drinks quickly(although I have to give some minus points for serving my boyfriend’s coke in a can — we had to steal a glass from the neighboring table, as he was using his water glass already). For starters, I got the scallops, which were absolute perfection. They came with a delicious foamy sauce and I used their very yummy bread to soak even the tiniest rest of it. My main was the coq au vin, served in a little cast-iron pot, and mashed potatoes. One of the best chicken dishes I’ve ever had. My boyfriend had the burger and was very happy with that as well. Weirdly, it came with a small bag of potato chips(huh?!), which — like the coke can — somewhat takes away from the atmosphere. Even though this is not a posh, fine-dining, white-tablecloth kind of place, these things still felt a bit off. We finished the night with a combination of coffee, avec, and a sweet chocolate… something(I would say it was somehow a mix between a heavy flødebolle and a huge truffle praline), but whatever the correct description, it was delicious! I’ll definitely go here again, and I hope they put that coq au vin on the menu permanently!

Just came back from dinner. It was excellent. First we got to try some very mice cocktail at the bar. I would gladly advise you the Danish 14. Then we move to the restaurant. The menu system is nice but a lot of the courses come with a supplement. The eating part: it was really good. We tried the crab with the artichoke soup and the beef tartar… I must say I used to hate parsley but now I might change my mind. The risotto was creamy as it should be, and the duck leg. Made us some very interesting flavor. We were full so no desert, but a big Bravo and a huge thank you for our last night in CPH. And the place is great The only reason I didn’t put 5five stars I because to much do the courses came with an additional price.

Had dinner here with some friends from Sweden. We booked a table but managed to be seated in between two families with small children We asked to be seated elsewhere when one child fell asleep on my friends shoe. That was no problem! The always have«menu for the day», that can cost a bit extra, but they also have a variety of starters, main courses and desserts. 1 dish-100kr 2 dishes-200kr 3 dishes-300kr…and so on… Waitress, cute and friendly, recommended us to try the pork chin with apricots and bacon for starter. It was really delicious and the meat was tender. The apricot were a bit too sweet for the meat, according to my own taste. We skipped the recommended BBQpork and went for the lamb coulette(I choose pea salad as a side). The salad was awesome next to the lamb meat, which also was good! As their AC couldn’t handle the heat on this summer day and we decided for dessert at another place. I also remember the dessert menu not as very attractive. Remember to ask for Matklubben Vesterbro’s smaller rooms as the larger are not as cosy as the smaller ones when booking a table, which I recommend that you do!

This restaurant is located across from the Museum of Copenhagen and was actually further from the train station than I thought it would be. The food is nice and it has a great atmosphere. It gets very busy between 6:30 and 7pm, so I would advise you to make reservations in advance(this can be done on their website). Food: 4⁄5 The food is just solid good cooking. Homey food that fills you up. We had the pork chop and the cod. The pork chop was very nicely cooked with a crispy exterior. The apples gave it a fresh crunch and the cauliflower was roasted. Unfortunately the cod was too salty for my taste but perfect for my husband(but I am over-sensitive to salt). The bacon, mussel soup was tasty with real American-style bacon but became too salty towards the end. Service: 3⁄5 People often complain about the lack of service in Denmark and it doesn’t usually bother me, but this is the first time I experienced the opposite — overenthusiastic wait staff. Our waitress checked in at our table 3x in the first 10 minutes. She stopped by before I had even taken a seat to ask for our drink orders, she stopped by again immediately after my husband had arrived and then finally to take our orders. Her service was almost pushy as she kept asking us what else we would like to drink(we had already ordered beer and bottled water) and reconfirming several times if we wanted sides with our main course(after we had already ordered a starter). It was super off-putting because it felt like she was trying to sell more things. But I think this may be a one-off experience and for those people who complain about service, this is your place! Atmosphere: 5⁄5 This place is great for dinner with friends. There is a lot of activity and people enjoying their meals here. You can tell that it is very popular as it fills up very quickly and people sit for a long time to enjoy their meal. Value: 4⁄5 it is 100 kr for 1 course, 150 kr for 2 course, and so on. It can be a great value if you don’t splurge on too many extra things. The food portions are very filling and very good.
