The five stars say it all — it was love at first sight and I hope this relationship will be a long lasting one It was only yesterday that I had the chance to visit this place myself, a place that Mina K and my other friends rambled about that serves BOTH cocktails and beer, how convenient is that since I like them both? *ahem* We arrived a little bit too early yesterday and decided to wait patiently for our booze outside by the bench when the nice bartender invited us in way before the opening hours. She probably got some hunches that we needed alcohol and we needed it now. The pleasant experience didn’t end just there, I ordered a cocktail called«Deez Nuts»(no worry, no politics in the ingredients list, just rum, lemon, hazelnuts and eggwhites!) and Mina K ordered Ryan’s Apples. We were told to sit down and she would deliver our cocktails(another fine service!) to our table. Since she just opened the place, she lighted some candles to make«hygge» and gave us a bottle of sparkling water to share as well. When the cocktail came, I was floored by the amazing flavour. I had never been a huge fan of rum(I do love me some rum raisin ice cream and mojito, but that’s it) but this cocktail was just nice — unfortunately I am not a poet and couldn’t describe it in pretty words, but it was very delightful and refreshing to drink. Mina K’s cocktail(Ryan’s Apple) was very nice too, although I didn’t like the cinnamonny taste — but that’s just me, I don’t like cinnamon that much. Apart from cocktails, they do have some very interesting beer from Mikkeller(duh!) after all, it’s a Mikkeller bar. The huge plus side of this place is also the fact that it’s walking distance from Nørreport st /Torvehallen. You could get something delicious from Torvehallen and then walk here for some«refreshment»(like we did after the wonderful tacos from Yuca Taco yesterday). It’s far more convenient location than Mikkeller in Viktoriagade or the one in Stefansgade… and it does serve both cocktails and beer, just in case you’re not in the mood for the other. A short summary of my long review is: This place serves booze and it makes me happy.

I loathe to write this review, but eventually this place will become popular(and therefore crowded) whether I write it or not. With low, romantic lighting and comfortable seating this is a great bar to visit for any occasion, but especially if you have friends in tow who do not like beer. There were 8 beers along with 10 cocktails on tap when I visited. Unfortunately(?) I was in a beer-y mood so I didn’t get to try any of the cocktails. Next time! I had a To Øl Spildt Mælk which was very strong at 13% but delicious. After I sat down with my drink, the bartender came by with a glass and a bottle of lightly carbonated water for me. Much appreciated! She also had some great recommendations and was just generally very nice. As the night went on, the soft reggae music continued and the place began to fill up but there was still space for more. I was only here last night but I can’t wait to go back again!

After having visited the newest Mikkeller bar in Stockholm, we were informed that a cocktail bar had opened in Copenhagen. The bf and I finally made our way to Mikropolis on our last evening in CPH; it was rainy out and we were reluctant to go, but glad we did. At first, we were the only patrons in the bar but that meant more face time with the lovely bartender, Lawry(sp?). Mikropolis offers inventive cocktails similar to the craft/mixologist style drinks offered up in San Francisco, with Mikkeller beers on tap natch. Located down below Vendersgade, we had a great time conversing with Lawry and eventually, other patrons who came to the bar. From mezcal to whisky to tequila — Mikropolis will likely have any and all liquor to quell your cravings. And if hard liquor isn’t your thing, you can always fall back on their homebrewed classics.

Nestled below street level of Vendersgade near Dronning Louises Bro is a very nice quaintly lit bar, backed by their relationship to Mikkeller, but carving their own direction with their craft, signature drinks and cozy feeling. You can’t help but feel warm when you walk down the steps and into the door. The beers are unique in that you can find Mikkeller, To Øl, and a couple other rotating once in awhile, but it’s usually some of their«off the beaten path» brews, not just the normals from around town. They of course carry Mikkeller distilled alcohols(fairly easy to find around, but nonetheless phenomenal) but the ‘tenders craft amazing signature special well drinks, and are always rotating and creating new ones to present on «the board.» My favorites include the ‘Ginger Top’ and ‘White Russian.‘ The staff is engaging and fun, and very nice to talk with while there. Luckily, my work is a mere couple doors down, and I have become somewhat of a regular, and as with any local neighborhood imbibery, it makes things even that much better to walk in the door on semi-normal basis and be greeted accordingly. They are a wonderful group whom you should get to know; and overall I believe you should definitely feel that the quality of drinks, with the atmosphere, engaging staff, and like-minded surrounding small groups(or couples) there for the same reason you are, is a wonderful experience on any night of the week. It can range from a quiet night with four patrons, to a «wild» night with a full house of people who are having the best night of conversation and laughter. Whichever you are into, this place should be on your list, near the top.

Must have 5 stars on this! It’s a very very hidden cool place! I loved the fact it was not full of people and there was a lot of place to sit. I also like the whole Mikkeller style. I just didn’t know about this one! It’s much smaller than the other two and has also the pro of cocktails that the others don’t have. The bartender told me they have been open for half a year now but the word apparently hasn’t gone so much around. The interior was as the other two bars, and I love that style. A lot of wood and some colours. They had some draft beers and a bunch of interesting cocktails. The bartender was very helpful and nice. He even brought sparkling water to our table! Great service! :) The beer was good, I had the number 5 called three times bitter(xxx bitter). For a cosy evening this place is great. It’s just not so visible from the street as there are always parked cars in front of it and it is a little bit under ground.

A new favorite bar! Not to be missed! I just happened to stumble past this place while walking home on a Saturday night. It’s easy to miss because it’s below street level(you have to walk down a few steps to the door). The bar is excellent for many reasons. The Booze: * Selection — a full bar with a really excellent collection of bottles. Many less common brands. Some of my favorite whisk(e)y options! * Beer — Most of the taps are dedicated to Mikkeller. What’s not to love??? * Cocktails — there’s a cocktail list and they know how to make ‘em! The Atmosphere: * Friendly staff! I visited the bar a second time the following day and sat and chatted a long time with the bartender who I had met the previous night. If he represents the overall staff and management, this is absolutely a place I want to support! * Music — the music playing tends to be old jazz and blues and other things in this style. It’s lively and classy but not too loud. * Seating — various stools at the bar and many small tables. There are lots of options. For a traveler alone, this is a great spot. For friends and couples, definitely.(Though, for large groups, it could get cramped — another plus I think, keeping it small) Go here. I will certainly be back.

A marriage of inventive cocktails and world class beer in a low key yet hip setting. The young man behind the bar was generous with both his knowledge and pours. They were making homemade ginger ale when we were there — wish we were staying in Copenhagen long enough to taste the final product.
