Customer service in Denmark? Yeah, never mind that. It’s a theory that only exists in hospitality workers’ manual. Never anywhere else did I get bitching from a take away place owner about showing up 15 minutes late. You are lucky that you get your orders, the right one at that. Since I was hungry and had been craving for Indian food for days(watching Indian films have that kind of «side effects» — after all«Lunch Box», «Hundred-Foot Journey» are about food) I shut up like a clam and prayed that the food was good. The thing is, I’ve tried many Indian places here in Copenhagen, some taste of generic(read: instant) Indian spices, some are okay and this place belongs to the latter. I ordered«Butter King Prawn #114» and«Kofta Moong #119»(mmm, Kofta took me back to «Lunch Box» film again). The butter king prawn was just OK but the Kofta moong was really nice. Rather oily, but nice. Now I’m not Indian nor expert in Indian cuisine, so if India natives think that this place serves shitty Indian food, I rest my case. That said, this place wasn’t THAT amazing, hence the three stars(and the fact that I got bitched at for showing up late(after all, this place ain’t no Gordon Ramsay’s place where you have to eat it right when it’s served, it’s take away food!) didn’t help adding an extra star, but I could consider going back here for more Indian food in the future. After all, Amager is like a desert when it comes to good food place. Everything else is just a mirage. You’ll have to go across the water to get your hands for good grubs — and that’s how desperate for good food I could be, getting complaints yet promising to return. Tips: You might want to avoid the pizza. I saw the(younger guy) poured out salami from a plastic box(probably from some supermarkets) to their supplies and those generic pink«strimler kød» was probably from supermarket too. The older guy who made the pizza? He didn’t wear any hygiene gloves. If I were you, I’d stay away from the pizza menu. On the other hand, the Indian food kitchen was on the back — let’s hope that what you don’t see will not kill you. I cross my fingers.

I literally just moved to Copenhagen. Smorhullet is one of the first places I have visited, so my review may be a little biased given that I have very little to compare it to. When I was walking around in amagerbro looking for something quick and easy I peeked in at the menu because of the large images that displayed the range of food served there. The images were obviously attractive so I decided to try it out. The menu was HUGE, ranging from indian to mexican to pizza. I ordered a falafel pita sandwich which was somewhat of a gamble because I didn’t exactly know what was going to come in it… menu is in danish. I was satisfied with my falafel but by no means was it the best one that I have ever had. The large pieces of cucumber and taziki sauce were appreciated. The price was surprisingly reasonable at 25DKK for the falafel pita. The pizzas were about 100DKK for a family size and the indian dishes ranged from 60 – 70DKK. The pro’s include the range of options, ideal location in Amagerbro & quality of ingredients. The con’s were the speed of delivery(there were several other orders ahead of mine, i recommend calling ahead if you can) & lack of vegetarian options.
