Netto

Der Netto Discounter am Kottbusser Damm hat bis auf ein sehr kleines Regal mit türkischen Konserven keine Besonderheiten im Sortiment, früher war er noch weit mehr durch seine türkisch muttersprachlichen Mitarbeiter/​innen geprägt, es gab im Eingangsbereich noch keinen Pfandautomaten, so dass man klingeln und auf Mitarbeiter warten musste, um sein Leergut loswerden zu können, das kostete zwar Zeit, aber es erinnerte genauso an früher, als es noch nicht überall Automaten gab. Da der türkische Supermarkt El-​fi gleich nebenan im selben Gebäude ist, gehe ich häufig anschließend noch zu Netto, jedoch mehr aus Gewohnheit als aus Interesse.

There’s nothing particularly besonders about this place, but the location is actually quite convenient. More than once I have picked up a bunch of produce at the Turkish Market, only to realize that I still need additional ingredients for my planned dinner. When that happens, I quickly cross the street and head over here to get the goods I need, and for cheap.
