The Lufthansa Senator Lounge in Terminal 1 isl huge, but it easily fills up throughout the day. Because this is their hub lounge, there are just so many people who qualify for entry into the club that it gets really packed and it’s hard to find two seats together. For the amount of people here, I would say that there’s a meager amount of food available. Some breakfast items in the morning and plenty of alcohol that is self-service all day. They have a sleeping room, but there was no way there were enough beds for the amount of people who want to take a nap. There are only about four beds. You can take a shower at this lounge, which is convenient, and there are enough spaces that there’s not much of a wait. Overall, if you’re flying a Star Alliance carrier, the Air Canada lounge is better than any of those Lufthansa business lounges. But it’s all based on where your flight is and which is closest to the gate.

It might not be pretty, but it’s large, functional and very well equipped. The food and drink bar is as good as anything I’ve experienced in my travels. Breakfast features the usual cold meat and cheese, plus scrambled and boiled eggs and, wonder of wonders, more than one coffee machine!

This is a well thought of, traveller oriented, smart lounge, done by the German — also, because of which, makes the choices of food looking a bit limited; the sleeping room is nice, the shower is very good, the place is spacious and suffices all kinds of seating requirements; there’re several rows of cubical desks, a smoking room, the restroom is equipped with an auto-sliding door — no odor, clean and thick toilet paper. Your privacy will be well protected in those two-seat couches with a central screen/fence. All in all, this is definitely a better experience than using the outside facilities.

Lufthansa has done a pretty good job at fine tuning its lounge. Senator and Business Lounges are quiet similar, just choose the closest one and no need to be selective… unless it is a HON lounge!

It might not be pretty, but it’s large, functional and very well equipped. The food and drink bar is as good as anything I’ve experienced in my travels. Breakfast features the usual cold meat and cheese, plus scrambled and boiled eggs and, wonder of wonders, more than one coffee machine! Lunch features a couple of soups(asparagus right now, what with it being May) something hot, such as schnitzels and sausages, a sandwich maker and a cooked to order pasta dish. Plenty of beer, wine, liquor and soft drinks, unlimited quantities of bread and pretzels. Faultless! Power outlets at all seats, fast recharging facilities, sound proofed ‘phone booths for those who still insist on using their mobiles for talking to people, numerous newspapers from all corners of the globe. It gets very busy during the morning rush hour and seating can be at a premium. In part thanks to idiots who seem to think that their bags require a chair of their own. All in all, a truly impressive, and very well run business lounge.

Like other excellent LH lounges, this lounge is great place to relax during your layover. Good shower place. Less crowded than terminals A or D. Great Bretzels, wine selections, fast refill. I was fed and rested very well. PS: No hand-made espresso drinks available.

Very nice, I wish I had more time to try all the offerings and learn the coffee machine. Note there are many Lufthansa lounges so be sure you have the one close to your gate. The maze that is Frankfurt airport had me at the doorstep of 3 other lounges before I found the right one. This one was also the least crowded.

Great lounge. Good selection for free beer and spirits. Was here in the morning and there was great sacks for breakfast. It is a large club and there is lots of comfortable seats. Power is easy to access at most seats.

Five stars for serving Apfelwein. But then it goes down a bit. Only a few power outlets are working and the place is often crowded.

Lufthansa has some great ground services for first class passengers but those services are only offered to first class passengers flying on Lufthansa or Swiss Air operated flights. Because I was flying Asiana Airlines first class from Frankfurt to Seoul, I wasn’t granted access to the Frankfurt First Class Terminal or any of the First Class lounges. Lufthansa has three levels of lounges, First Class, Senator and Business Class. The First Class Terminal and First Class lounges are only available to first class passengers on Lufthansa or Swiss Air operated flights. The Lufthansa Business Class Lounges are available to Lufthansa and Star Alliance business class passengers and the Lufthansa Senator Lounges are only available to Star Alliance first class passengers and Star Alliance Gold members. There are four Senator Lounges in terminal 1 at Frankfurt Main. The Senator lounge in the Schengen area is located by gate A50. The other three Senator lounges are located in the non-Schengen area near gates B43, C14 and Z50. On this trip, I had four hours to kill so I was only able to visit and review the lounges in the A, B and Z concourses. But of all the lounges, I really wished I got to visit the Senator Lounge in the C concourse. That lounge is special in that you could board the planes directly from and without leaving the lounge. I’ve never been able to do that before and would have been a cool experience. It should be noted that going from the Z to A concourse required a passport and a security check and going from the A to B concourse also required another passport check. So keep that in mind if you intend to visit a Senator Lounge that is not at your arrival or departure gate. Additionally, Star Alliance premium cabin passengers, Star Alliance Gold members and Qatar premium cabin passengers may also use the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge located in terminal 1, B concourse and TAM Airlines premium cabin passengers may use the Lufthansa lounges in terminal 1, B concourse. The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge is open from 6:00AM to 10PM. Located by gate B43, this Lufthansa Senator Lounge is open from 5:00AM to 10:00PM. Also not a combo lounge, this lounge is only accessible to first class passengers and Star Alliance Gold members. Between the three that I visited today, this lounge was my favorite. As I walked in, my first impression of the lounge was that it was very spacious and beautiful. It wasn’t elaborately decorated or overly luxurious but instead, the«City Lights» motif struck me as very modern and chic. The lounge was shaped like an «O» and there were plenty of seats throughout the lounge. Even though there were a lot of people in the lounge, I didn’t have a problem finding a seat in several areas of the lounge. There was a variety of seating from executive chairs, to loungers and sofas. However, unlike the other lounges, there were no private relaxation rooms or flat daybeds. By the entrance to the showers, there were a bank of individual storage lockers to secure your belongings. The lockers had individual keys and were large enough to store a small roller board and your other carry on items. The individual shower rooms were clean, modern and stocked with basic amenities. There used to be a Spa facility here for massages, facial and other services but that’s no longer available. The dining and buffet area was located to the right of the lounge. Of the three, this lounge offered the best selection of food. There was a nice spread including salads, cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, soups, sausages, hot finger foods and of course, lots of pretzels. You really could eat a full meal here. With all that food, you’re gonna want a complimentary drink to wash it down with. Luckily, there were two bars for alcoholic drinks. You could pour your own drink at the self-serve bar or have a drink made for you from the traditional bar with bartender service. There was a wide selection of alcohol available including beers on tap, wines, champagnes and hard spirits. There was also a soda fountain and coffee/cappuccino maker. Other lounge amenities included restrooms, an enclosed smoking room, local and international newspapers and magazines, televisions, flight information boards, printers, copiers and a fax machine. WiFi was provided and universal power ports were plentiful around the lounge. If you like my travel related reviews, feel free to check out my travel blog. The link can be found in my profile. This review is for the new Lufthansa Senator Lounge by gate B42. It’s gorgeous, the shower amenities are nice, the spa looks pretty legit(i might check it out on my way back from Africa) and the bar, Citylights, is really sweet. They actually muddle herbs for their drinks and have designed cocktails(alcoholic and nonalcoholic), which is leaps and bounds beyond anything I’d expect of United. I only got into here because I’m currently Star Alliance Gold(thanks, med school interviews) and traveling internationally. Warning, if you’re getting in this way, Lufthansa’s a real stickler about you having your mileage plus /gold card with you. Otherwise you have to go to ticketing to pick up a temporary card, which was worth it this time for me since i’m stuck in the airport for like 8 hours. But it took about an hour to get out, find the United desk, get my card and go back through security, which people might not always have. Even with the temporary card, the people at the Business lounge were being bitches about the whole thing and saying they weren’t allowed to let me in. For being part of a «Star Alliance», United and Lufthansa don’t seem to communicate a ton, but whatever, that’s probably best saved for a separate discussion. Anyways, I’m relaxing in here right now and have another 4 hours to kill after taking a shower and eating a nice breakfast. If you have to deal with a really long layover, I can’t imagine a better place to do it.

Hübsch hergerichtet, zwei verschiedene warme Gerichte, Kaiserschmarren für danach, taugt mir. :-) Sehr sauber, alles an Getränken, passt, komme gerne wieder.
