Brauhaus am Markt

In the marketplace area… looks a lil shady but well worth the venture from Ramstein AFB. Ordered the Brunch which was all you can eat buffet that also had Mimosa for just € 1,50 !
It had classic scrambled American eggs, sausage and bacon or full on german breads with cheeses and meats. Assorted fruits and a make your own crêpe station. Really worth the money in my opinion. My hubby also posted to Unilocal while there and waitress immediately came to table and stated that boss thanked him for the post and drinks were on Him !!! So yes it pays to Unilocal in here

Portions are huge and the roast beef salad was very good! Staff was friendly and moved us to the non smoking side of the restaurant. Great beers as well! I will be returning.

Highly suggest if sitting outside (or inside after 10pm).
The ambience has changed. Been a BIG fan of this restaurant for over 6 years but was severely disappointed tonight when they were playing Sade-​esque music. I almost fell asleep in my (delicious) beer. The waiter said the music changes after 10pm. The food was amazing as always, but the brauhaus atmosphere was completely lost.

This is a very easy restaurant to go to. Right in the marktplatz in Kaiserslautern, lots of nearby shopping, lots of people watching. English menus available, delicious salads. The Jäger sauce is one of the best I’ve had out here. Very good.

LOVE Brauhaus! We lived right around the corner and it was always a great «go to» spot… especially for larger groups. They brew their own beer, and have awesome beer towers! Their salads are surprisingly good! (i know how lame that sounds), as well as traditional german food. The atmosphere is fun and the servers are always friendly… a great way to start out the night.

Eigentlich gehe ich gerne in das Brauhaus. Alleine wegen dem selbst gebrauten Bier und der Atmosphäre. Dieses mal war aber alles anders. Wir waren zu viert und hatten reserviert. Nach einchecken haben wir Getränkes geordert und Essen bestellt. Das Fleisch des Grilltellers und die Putenbrust war sehr zäh. Kenne ich gar nicht so. Schlimmer war aber die Bedienung, die uns gekonnt ignorierte und sehr unfreundlich war. Wir wollten bezahlen und es dauerte ewig, da der Kollege meinte jetzt erst noch Tische abwischen zu müssen. Beim auschecken wollten wir Trinkgeld geben und als Antwort kam: Wegen den Paar Cent brauchst du auch nichts geben. Lass es einfach sein. Kannte ich so nicht und bin ich auch so von dort nicht gewohnt. Leider muss auch diese Erfahrung geteilt werden. In nächster Zeit werden erst einmal andere Locations aufgesucht. Es wird aber noch ausreichend Chancen geben.

I’ve always liked this place for their salads, they’re large and plentiful, definitely a good choice for those trying to be healthy. In the summer they have plenty of outdoor which is awesome. A step up from most German foods, it’s a good place for a group of friends for food or drinks. Oh and they serve towers of beer in case you get thirsty

Meins ist es nicht. Lieblos gekochte Gerichte. Das Bier könnte besser sein und die Cola schmeckt abgestanden.

Decent beer, good schnitzel, excellent spaetzle with cheese and a really nice breakfast buffet for a reasonable price. Definitely prefer the restaurant side versus bar side (too much smoke!). Good service, nice folks.

Food is great and service is great and inexpensive. We only go there to eat at the outside seating since they allow people smoke inside. Kids friendly and nice atmosphere

For any visitors to Germany, this restaurant is where you should go if you want a very solid overview of German cuisine. Good beer, brat, wurst selections along with other menu items. Outdoor areas are pleasant and places you in the heart of downtown Kaiserslautern. I highly recommend a visit!

The good= nice siting area outside, food comes in large sizes.
The bad= the food had no flavor.
We had a Jaegerschnitzel and turkey breast plates and literally could not eat due to bland consistency, felt like chewing thick cardboard. Unfortunately they do not have Tabasco or any other spice to wiz it up a little. The jaeger sauce maybe had 1 cut up mushroom, yes, 1. I think they used the Knorr packet sauce, definitely not home made.
The turkey breast looked good, very thick, but tasted worse than the bland Schitzel. You would think the craft beer they make would of been great but the Dunkel I got was warm and tasted a bit flat and nasty, like a beer you left in a hot car too long.
They should either concentrate on making a great beer or good food but they fail at both and realized why I haven’t been back in almost 3 years. To shoot the crap with friends I guess it’s a decent place but not for the food.
ps, food looked great in the menu but I think they have a chef without a sense of taste, please have him checked!

I’ve eaten here many times over the years. Brauhaus will always resonate with me because it was the first place I ever ate at in Germany. Over the years I’ve probably have dined here 10 to 12 times (counting both breakfast and dinner). I actually like the breakfast buffet more due to the combination of good food and price (~8 euro). I’ve always credited Brauhaus for their consistency; solid… good food but never overwhelmingly great. It’s not as «traditional» as say, Spinnrädl (around the corner) but you’ll never go wrong here. Great place for large get-​togethers as well.

This is where I like to take family and friends who come to visit, because it’s an amazing restaurant boiled down to something simple.
They have a great restaurant with a simple menu of delicious food.

A great resturant! Nice menu with good salads and main courses alike. The Sat brunch is really good and the beer «towers» always make for a good time. The wait staff is nice and english friendly.

Husband loved the food he got here. He raved about it for days and to all our friends. I was happy with the food. I got the turkey breast and it was delicious. The noodles were good. The mushroom sauce wasn’t great. The waitress was attentive and very helpful. It was kind of weird that she asked for a tip when we paying as it is not customary to leave a tip. We were already planning on leaving her a tip for going out of her way to serve us. Just thought it was weird that’s all.

Both steaks were cooked different than expected, medium was rare and and med-​well was medium. Fries and baked potatoes were very salty. Pretzels were not fresh. Spaghetti Bolognese was good and more than a meal.

its a great place to go out with a group of people but not as a family. especially with little kids. lots of smokers! food was good !! steak we alright, a little more pink than i wanted. but i had a good time

Ich hatte einen Brauhaus-​Teller mit Saumagen, Wurst und Sauerkraut. Sehr lecker und sehr reichlich! Das selbstgebraute Bier schmeckt auch!
Nettes Ambiente im Lounge-​Bereich und freundliche Bedienung.
Ich komme gern wieder.

Ambiente toll, allerdings ziemlich laut (ok, Brauhaus halt). Im linken Teil ist rauchen erlaubt also nix wie raus im rechten Eingang war die Luft dann rein. Speisekarte optimal, nicht zuletzt durch einige Specials (Schnitzeltag u. ä.) recht preiswert. Qualität des Essens allerdings nur mittelprächtig, Pute trocken bis leicht angebrannnt, Spätzle und Soße lecker aber eher Fertigprodukt.
Ich würde es durchaus nochmal wagen aber dieser Besuch war nur 3 Sterne.

This place has an excellent selection of beer AND food! The atmosphere of the restaurant is really great, too. Whenever I have a friend visiting for the first time, this place is the top on my list for bars/​restaurants to take them to.

Mike and I went there to watch the US vs. Belgium game last night. We both were hungry, so we both ordered schnitzel. The atmosphere was great, the food was awesome, the wait staff was courteous, and the beer was good as well. Next time I’m definitely trying banana beer.

The bier is wonderful. The food is good but nothing extraordinary. I had dinner there last Friday with a large group of work colleagues. Service was excellent, efficient, and fast. The helles bier, as I said, is wonderful. Unless you’ve got a lot of drinkers skip the bier towers which really don’t save much money and just allow the bier to warm up… My wife had the Brauhaus salad which she enjoyed. I had the gratinee flammkuchen which was good as well (I’ve had the schnitzels before and was underwhelmed so I went with something different this time).
Go to Brauhaus am Markt for great helles bier. If you’re looking for great German food go elsewhere.

Im Brauhaus kann man in einer modern gehaltenen Atmosphäre morgens gut brunchen, mittags gut Essen (sehr zu empfehlen sind hier die Schnitzel) und Abends bevor man in die Stadt geht sich auch treffen um noch etwas zu trinken.
Die Preise sind angemessen und die Bedienungen sind überwiegend freundlich.

There’s nothing quite like enjoying the Brauhaus patio on a nice, sunny Saturday! It’s the prime location to enjoy your beer and meal while people watching for hours! Shop at the farmers market (a stone’s throw away) then grab coffee or lunch at Brauhaus.
We were crazy about their salads… fresh, delicious, and that homemade dressing is something special. They also do good schnitzels… two thin and crunchy pieces of pork. Also offered is a cornflake crust for your schnitzel. Their jäger sauce tastes homemade, not from a package. It’s creamy and tasty! The pommes are good, but I preferred the bratkartoffeln.
Indoor on a weekend night is pretty happenin’, too. It’s a good place to start before bar hopping. I don’t really care for most of the beers… but they’ve had some good seasonal choices.
Service is spotty, but, that’s the norm for Kaiserslautern.

Tolles Ambiente und ein leckeres Hausbier gibt es hier!

Tolles Essen und tolle Cocktails zu angemessenen Preisen. Gute Wochenaktionen zudem, auf Homepage zum nachlesen wann was. Ansonsten super Atmosphäre-​es darf allerdings überall geraucht werden. Weniger erfreulich für Nichtraucher.

Tolles Essen zu einem angemessen Preis. Der Salat ist super, die Speisekarte ist gut sortiert, Ambiente nett, Bedienung auch. Fazit: Es stimmt alles und das mitten in der Stadt.

Ganz leckeres Essen und die Preise sind auch in Ordnung. Ich fand die Bedienung nur etwas gemütlich.
Man kann sehr nett draußen an der Stiftskirche sitzen.

Wir waren vor einiger Zeit im Café am Markt gewesen und mussten auf das Essen geschlagene 1,5 (!) Stunden warten. Auf Nachfrage wie lange es denn noch dauern würde haben wir eine Antwort bekommen, die einen barschen Unterton hatte. Die Bedienung lief an unserem Tisch gefühlte 100 Male vorbei und hat nicht bemerkt, dass unsere Gläser leer waren. Nach einigen Versuchen sie zu rufen wurden einige Male einfach ignoriert haben wir unsere Getränke doch noch bekommen.
Als wir das Essen endlich bekamen hat es ganz in Ordnung geschmeckt. Da für mich aber der Service an aller erste Stelle steht, war ich von unserem Besuch sehr enttäuscht.

Das Brauhaus am Markt liegt zentral in der Fußgängerzone Kaiserslautern. Somit ist es mit dem Auto direkt nicht zu erreichen. Das Restaurant besteht aus drei Teilen: dem Brauhaus, dem Café und einer Diskothek. In vier Bereichen kann man essen: Dem großen, bei gutem Wetter meist vollen Außenbereich, dem Café, dem Restaurant selbst und einem Innenhof. Letzterer gehört zum Diskobereich und ist zwar mit einer unbesetzten Bar ausgestattet, vom Ambiente her aber der unansehnlichste Bereich.

Das Publikum ist typisch für Kaiserslautern von Alter und Schicht sehr gemischt.

Das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich und bietet für jeden Etwas. Das Highlight ist aber das Bier. Vom aktuellen «Bier der Saison» wurde ich bisher noch nie enttäuscht.

Ich entschied mich, das «Schnitzel Zweierlei» zu essen. Es besteht aus zwei Schnitzeln und zwei Soßen, die man aus einer Auswahl von sechs Stück wählen kann. Das Schnitzel kann nach Wahl noch mit einer anderen Panade bestellt werden. Als Beilage nahm ich Pommes Frites. Die Portion war auch etwas für den großen Hunger. Zuvor gab es einen sehr guten Beilagensalat.
Getrunken habe ich das aktuelle Bier der Saison, ein Märzen, gefolgt von einem Hellen.

Zusammenfassend kann ich sagen, dass ich auch diesen Besuch nicht bereut habe. Das Brauhaus ist auch dank der Mittagskarte zu empfehlen.
Für einen romantischen Abend zu zweit würde ich aber sicher ein anderes Restaurant wählen. Bei einem Besuch mit mehr als zwei Personen empfehle ich auch mittags unbedingt zu reservieren!

Hier gibts sehr gute Schnitzelgerichte und Salate. Auch das hauseigene Bier ist nicht zu verachten. Der Service ist ausgesprochen freundlich, nur die Theke könnte manches Mal schneller arbeiten. Alles in allem ein schönes, zentral gelegenes Restaurant.

Das gute an diesem Laden ist, dass man immer die gleiche Qualität bekommt, egal wann man kommt, welcher Tag und welche Zeit.
Das Essen gehört nicht in eine gehobene Kategorie, aber gut bürgerliche Küche mit grossen Portionen und einigen Kombinationsmöglichkeiten.
Auf extra Wünsche wurde bis jetzt immer Rücksicht genommen und das sogar for free.
Obwohl das Personal aus Studenten, Schüler und Autodidakten besteht, sind sie immer freundlich, zuvorkommend und bestens informiert.
Obwohl der Laden immer voll ist muss ich sagen, dass es bis jetzt nie was zu bemängeln gegeben hat wenn es zm Sauberkeit geht.
Die Portionen sind zu gross für mich und ich habe es bis jetzt nicht geschafft aufzuessen, aber dafür hat es kontinuierlich gleich geschmeckt, was man in Läden solchen Charakters oft vermisst.
Fazit: Wer satt werden möchte ist hier gut aufgehoben. Personal locker und nett.

Gerade neulich mal wieder din gewesen mit 4 Leuten. Volle Bude und unsere Bestellung kam superschnell und auch lecker.
Preise sind OK und die Portionen groß. Man mag vielleicht sagen zu groß? Keiner von uns hat seinen Teller komplett verputzen können.
Und der Tisch direkt bei der Tür war nicht ohne Grund frei. Wenn da jemand ein und ausgeht, was an einem weihnachtlichen Samstag schonmal vorkommt, dann sitzt man volle Kanone im Luftzug. Sehr eisig.
Ansonsten sehr schön, gerne wieder.

Erlebnisgastronomie! Im Brauhaus gibt es große Braukessel, das selber gebraute Weizenbier schmeckt sehr gut.

Was die Speisen angeht, so soll man sich keine allzugroßen Hoffnungen machen. Die beiden Schnitzel mit «Crunchy-​Panade» sahen sehr gut aus, gemschmacklich aber kein Highlight. Dazu gibts Saucen aus der Tüte, wahlweise mit Pommes oder Kroketten.

Auch der Beilagensalat konnte nicht überzeugen, die Portionen sind allerding auch für den großen Hunger gut.

Fazit: Für eine gemütliche Runde zum trinken schön (aber laut), Essen unter Schnitt.
