Once every 5 years for a month this whole town becomes an art exhibit like nothing in this universe. It is like the olympics of art exhibits.
It is called The Dokumenta. It is an exhibition of the artists for a variety of art forms. As a spectator you not only get to observe the exhibit but some you can participate… participatory art… gives the audience a different perspective and be part of the art. and you leave feeling you have all of a sudden acheived a greater depth and breath with respect to art in your everyday life…
The one i attended was Dokumenta X, the 10^th event from it’s inception. I believe that was 1992. I especially liked the Johny Johny Johny :)
i’ll dig up my old pics and post it sometime :)
next one should be 2012.
