The food here is wonderful… I mean, who can turn down bacon wrapped dates? I typically love tapas and Unnerhaus Bodega does not disappoint.

I really like this place and am unhappy to give a negative report. This is not about the food. It’s about the service. The last 2 times we were there it took about 45 minutes to just get a chance to order our food(30 minutes to be able to order our drinks). I went back the second time because I thought they were just having an off night the first time. The waitress is very nice but she says«yes» to the question, «can we please order now» walks away and does not come back. We walked out, after the first hour, without dinner.

I would not recommend the chorizo but everything else was amazing! The bodega plate was great and the large prawns! The waitress was friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to speak English to us. I would go back in a heart beat.

The food is great, especially the tapas! Try the shrimps in the potato coat, delicious. You have to be lucky with the service, some are really quick and paying attention, some are rather slow and shy.

Excellent restaurant built in an old shelter. Excellent food, beer, and drinks. Language was a bit of a problem for us but not for the staff: as this restaurant was in rural Germany and we were visitors who didn’t speak German, the staff would find someone who spoke English amongst their other customers and at least twice in my experience, brought in a shopkeeper from outside the restaurant to help us order. Very nice of them, a treasured memory of the way people would go out of their help foreign visitors. The food was excellent, no matter what we’d tried there. The beer… OMG… and I’m not a beer drinker. Every night, an oompah-pah band would play and people would dance to the excellent music. Wives of couples would introduce themselves to us in German and ask us to be their guests in dancing with them or with younger women, possibly daughters? The hospitality of these very warm people was heartwarming. Dinner there was generally an all-evening affair to include music and dancing. We always had a great time. Never had a bad night there in any aspect. Excellent food, music, beer, service, and prices. Unparalleled, warm hospitality of the staff, manager, and patrons.

Dinner here was wonderful! We ordered the goat cheese with meats and olives, meatballs, garlic butter shrimp, and it came with fresh bread with garlic mayo(so good)! Everything we ordered was very tasty. They had a good selection of wines on their list and our server spoke perfect English and was very helpful with menu suggestions. I will definitely be eating here again soon.

We went for the jazz band originally but found out they no longer have that or another live bands playing. The meatballs have so much flavor! I had the goat cheese and vegetables which was all right. The fried shrimp although look interesting are somewhat bland. The garlic spread that they serve you with your comp bread is yummy. We split the paella between three people and it was more then enough food. For 13.50 per person we actually had too much food when we request the three person paella. all the main entrée run on the expensive side. the tapas are affordable, flavorful, delicious and service is wonderful. They do speak English, with Spanish music playing in the background and the food is cooked fresh. Its a quaint place to enjoy an evening with friends after a hard day.

We visited this restaurant based on Unilocaler’s recommendations, and I would agree with all the previous reviews, with a couple of exeptions. We had roasted vegetables, meatballs, baked goats cheese, jalapeño poppers, fried mushrooms, dates wrapped in bacon, garlic sauce, and garlic bread. Everything recommended by others was not just good but amazing. The things we got that weren’t so good were the poppers and the fried mushrooms, both were prepared from frozen and were not fully cooked(still frozen in the middle) they were serve plain(with no sauce). I think the big problem was that we ordered these 2 dishes last, and everything else was made fresh, these dishes were very disappointing.

The flavors in Spanish food in general never seem to tickle my fancy in an ohmygosh kinda way. Having said that, I’ll go ahead and give this spot«Yay! I’m a fan.» status for: fresh plates, which taste like they’ve been prepared with care & passion great atmosphere in the winter garden(even without the jazz!) the excellent, warm, and multi-lingually funny service my friend’s heavenly goat cheese & roasted veggie plate(I loved one!) …and the delicious garlic spread(this, on bread, alone is happiness) It was a perfect happy-hour setting with good girlfriends on a nice spring night, and I bet it’d be great for a casual date. I recommend you go see for yourself.

After visiting a dear friend at the hospital last night, despite having had some soup prior, we were hungry. But where to go in Landstuhl? I really wasn’t in the mood for Italian and the German food that I cook at home is better than in a restaurant. Then I thought of the tapas place that had recently opened. What a lovely surprise! Already the ambience was much more cosmopolitan than your typical village place. The first part of the restaurant is a winter garden with nice tables and a bar. Downstairs there is another room with more seating and another bar. The menu is an ever-changing list of typical Spanish tapas. All wines come by the glass or by the carafe. We ordered the gambas al ajillo, the albondigas, the calamares, and the stuffed jalapeños. Everything is made in-house. The meatballs were some of the best I have ever had although I would have preferred a little more sauce. They came with a papa arrugada with mojo rojo which is also house made. The calamares were tender with a light batter. The fried stuff jalapeños were also much superior to the usual ones you get at your typical chain. The manager was friendly, chatty, and speaks fluent English, German, and Spanish. During the week the Unnerhaus also serves lunch and reasonable prices. The first Wednesday of the month usually features a jazz band. I can really recommend this place.
