Besonderheiten
The Sofitel Munich Bayerpost combines the charm of a historic building with contemporary design. Behind the Wilhelmina façade of the former Royal Bavarian post office, you will find perfect surroundings to meet and stay. An oasis of hospitality and refinement, where every aspect of the French «art de vivre» shines through.
Firmengeschichte
Hat 2004 eröffnet.
Built from 1896 — 1900 in Italian High Renaissance style the building housed the Royal Bavarian Post Office until 1993 and was the most important hub for mail transportation in Bavaria.
Behind the historic building’s neoclassical façade munich-based architects Fred Angerer and Gerald Hadler redeveloped the property from 2002 — 2004 into a jewel of Munich’s luxury hotels.
Opening out the existing structure with spacious areas and high ceilings a blend of avant-garde architecture, high technology and sumptuous French-inspired design come together.
History meets modernity — Interior architect Harald Klein designed the rooms in French contemporary style, including the ten fabulous themed suites.
Deeply rooted in Munich’s rich culture and traditions the interior designs evolve from specific features at the hotel entrance, to abstract and associative features in other public areas.
