Sofitel Munich Bayerpost

Hervorragendes Hotel! Ein sehr aufmerksamer Service, tolle Zimmer, herausragende Betten!
Den Sinn des spiralförmigen Pools habe ich nicht erkennen können, mir wäre ein normales Becken zum schwimmen lieber gewesen. Aber das wars auch schon mit der Kritik, wenn man das überhaupt als Kritik bezeichnen kann… ;)
Ich komme sehr gerne wieder!

I pay premium to stay at 5 star hotels for a reason — for exceptional quality, service, food and comfort. The hotel is beautiful with its signature modern French accents, their concierge was a pleasure to deal with and their Hermes bath products were also great. Now for where they fell short: The mattress covered in what felt like a very synthetic, vinyl material. I suppose it’s their way to prevent bedbug infestation. Smart… BUT, the only thing on top of it was a looser fitting thing sheet. It was quite uncomfortable because not only was it unpleasant to touch when the sheet moved around, but even with the sheet over it made the bed uncomfortably warm very quickly. That costed them one star. I’m taking off another star because how inept their kitchen management was in correcting a mistake. My husband dialed room service and ordered a hamburger made medium well «with slight pink in the center». They sent up a hamburger that was pretty much rare. Their solution? To take the cut burger down and reheat it! This was the best thing that a 5 star $ 400 a night hotel can come up with. I insisted they make a new one instead. When they did, it was now rare-​medium, pink throughout and dripping with blood. It was truly disappointing.

Pros: Friendly staff who are helpful and speak English. Location is great because it’s in the middle of the town. Loved the all you can eat breakfast. Fresh food with lots of variety.
Cons: Even though the location of the hotel is great, it’s is also located right next to a train station so if you book a room make sure to tell them to put you on the other side. Room service food was nothing special. I ordered the club sandwich and the onion soup that were whatever. The sofitel burger was good though. They also don’t offer a lot of good English TV channels. They have some but they are news. They have a lot of Arabic channels though. breakfast is expensive $ 38 Europe per person.

If you exit the train station, you really have only 3 choices of accommodations:
1) Flemings — dude jacking off in lobby 2) Le Meridien — Awful housekeeping, construction zone 3) sofitel — best hotel, modern atmosphere, nice lobby, best bar, quiet!
Seriously, if you are debating between these three, stay at The Sofitel. It may cost a bit more at first, but this tiny amount of expense is completely worth it. Sofitel is the only hotel that offers twice daily room service and a «more quiet» experience; this comes in handy, considering Le Meridien is in a construction zone. Not only that, but Flemings and Le Meridien have non existent housekeeping and are quite a bit noisier as well.
If you stay here, you just have to understand the neighborhood. Its a bit more «gritty» then other areas in Munich; however, tons (and I mean tons) of businesses are based in this area. As long as you can get used to the «NYC grit», you will be fine. But don’t stay here and expect the quintessential «Munich» experience, it simply won’t happen.
Back on point — the best part of the Sofitel? The crazy indoor pool area. this pool kept me warm quite a few times. Or maybe it was the cocktails. either way, this is my new go to hotel in munich. Unless I stay at the Mandarin over the summer.

Honestly, despite being a 5 star hotel — this hotel was just… ok. The location is very close to everything, but kind of random — right next to the train station and the streets surrounding it are not very nice. Lots of cheap shops, teens drinking on the streets at night, and people begging on the streets — not ideal.
The external hotel, lobby and common parts are all really gorgeous to be fair — the rooms however leave a lot to be desired. The room was fine — but I’m not sure if we were placed in one that hadn’t been remodeled? It just didn’t feel that clean. The carpet in the room itself kind of creeped me out as it looked super old and it was extremely dark in the room. Fine place to stay, but, in my opinion, it was not a 5 star experience at all. We wouldn’t stay here again.

Pretty good hotel although quite pricey as well. High points were location (next to train station and shopping area near old town), roomy bathroom/​shower, and well designed hotel room with plenty of space to put things down.
Minor negatives were reception area with above average wait times. Also not a fan of the dark nightclub look in common areas, but this may appeal to others. Overall a pleasant experience

A very nice hotel in a very not-​nice area. We chose this hotel knowing that we would be arriving by train and this is right next to the train station. That was very convenient after a long train ride and would stay here again. It was also within a 15 minute from Marienplatz and most of the other tourist attractions and tourist loading areas for excursions out of Munich. But as we all know the types of people who hang out around train stations are not exactly the cream of the crop. Lots of people hanging out drinking beer and actually had to quickly walk by a drunken brawl.

Ein rundherum gelungener Aufenthalt: zentrale Lage, ruhige Zimmer mitten im Zentrum, ein tolles Frühstück (aus meiner Sicht durchaus Preis-​wert) und ein schönes SPA. Der Service beim Frühstück dürfte etwas aufmerksamer sein, war aber noch ok.
Aber mein persönliches Highlight war: das Bett! Das bequemste Hotelbett, in dem ich je geschlafen habe. Absolut himmlisch!

Tolles 5 Sterne Hotel in «bester» Lage in Muenchen — man fällt vom HBF direkt in dieses sehr sehr ambitionierte Haus, welches von aussen recht wuchtig aussieht — von innen jedoch eine sehr feine Absteige ist.
Personal/​Stuff ist, wie es sich gehört, sehr engagiert — einzige Mini-​Minus-​Punkt war, dass wir am Morgen wiederholt 15 Minuten auf eine bestelltes Taxi warten mussten. Und irgendwie war der Page vorm Hotel nicht so recht daran interessiert dass wir pünktlich zu einer Veranstaltung wollten.
Der Spa ist deutlich netter als in anderen Hotels dieser Klasse.
Zimmer geräumig, die Betten KLASSE. Das Bad schön groß, wie immer etwas dunkel — die Dusche ein Traum.
Ich komme sehr gerne wieder.

Although I have yet to arrived at the Sofitel in Munich, my experience has been less than pleasant. I booked the Sofitel through American Express and due to changes with the delivery of my automobile in Stuttgart I was forced to change the dates on the hotel stay. Upon calling American Express I was told that they could not make any changes because it was a Sofitel booking and that it was a nonrefundable booking. They referred me to Sofitel and when I called the Sofitel reservation desk I was told they could not make any changes because it was a nonrefundable reservation that I had booked through American Express. I tried to explain to both American Express and the Sofitel reservation department that I did not need a refund. In fact all I needed was to move my date three days earlier for the same number of days. I also explained to both that I was willing to pay the difference in the rate even though the same type room was still available for the days that I needed and at the same rate. Since I am meeting family and they had already made their reservation at the Sofitel I proceeded to make a second reservation. I have not canceled the reservation that I originally made hoping that the individuals at the front desk in Munich will be much more customer service oriented than the 800 number was. I will think twice before booking another reservation with Sofitel and what’s more booking a reservation through my American Express platinum card.
Disappointed

Stayed for two nights and loved it. Room is modern but still very cozy. The gym has everything one needs and the location is very central. Sofitel, as usual, is no disappointment.

Das Hotel ist einfach nur fantastisch! Wir hatten ein Zimmer in der Superior-​Klasse und es war sehr schön! Das Personal an der Reception sowie in Bar und Restaurant waren alle sehr freundlich.
Das Frühstücksbuffet (36 €) bietet alles was das Herz begehrt! Von süss zu salzig, von selbstgemachter Marmelade bis Weisswürste! Die grosse Auswahl an Fruchtsäften hat uns besonders gefallen! Die 36 € lohnen sich!
Die Spa-​Angebote sind einbisschen teuer (ca. 55 € für 30 Minuten Massage) darum habe wir uns entschieden, dass wir «nur» die Badelandschaft und Sauna besuchen, welche wie das ganze Hotel einfach nur luxuriös ist. Mein Partner hat vorgängig das Hotel informiert, dass wir unser Jubiläum feiern. Das Hotel hat uns eine Flasche Sekt und Blumen als Präsent ins Zimmer kommen lassen!
Super Wochenende in einer tollen Stadt und noch tollerem Hotel! Wenn wir das nächste Mal in München sind ohne Frage wieder Sofitel Bayerpost!

We had a great experience here — wonderful service and beautiful, modern décor with a museum-​like vibe. Tons of room in the expansive lobby area to lounge and a small but luxe feeling spa area with one of the coolest pools I’ve ever seen. Room was a great size, bed was über-​plush and comfortable, and the Hermes products were a nice touch. Brunch/​breakfast was as good as I’ve seen — expansive buffet with all the usual trappings — buttery smoked salmon, assorted cured meats and French cheese, made to order egg dishes and pancakes, and of course the obligatory Sekt bar and lineup of fresh tropical juices. Great location of course right next to the train station and 15 minute walk to Marienplatz.
On top of all this, the hotel is family friendly and they welcomed us with kids robes/​slippers, children’s bath supplies, and a wonderful little teddy bear to take home. Children are welcome in the spa pool area before 5, which was a fun diversion as well.
Wonderful experience! We will absolutely be back.

Sofitel is a luxury hotel brand on par with some of the best, but not all locations live up to the reputation. Fortunately, the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost extruded luxury the moment I walked in. While some of the five stars hotels cut back on toiletries, Sofitel carried the famous Hermes toiletries when I stayed recently. The room was completed with many nice finishes including an extremely comfortable bed.
The hotel is conveniently located near the central train station, but the immediate area around the station seemed somewhat sketchy. The hotel restaurant Delice La Brasserie was quite good. The gym was nicely equipped with the cool Technogym Kinesis Personal Vision, but the space was a little on the small side. My biggest regret was not being able to try out the spa, which looked quite impressive. Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas is one of my favorite hotels, and now I must say Sofitel Munich is right up there.

Great place right near Munich’s central train station. Really, walking distance. Most Munich attractions are within walking distance, although the direct neighbourhood might not be the best.
The hotel is still rather newish and well maintained. The overall design is very, very modern and rather dark, however, for whatever reason, they had some hideous bronze «artwork» distributed throughout the hotel. Which didn’t match the rest of the hotel at all. Hideous. Really. Yuk.
Rooms are of a decent size, very clean, and are equipped with matching bathrooms. However, the designers decided to integrate the toilet into the bathroom, which is only separated from the rest of the room by a (thin) frosted glass door. Not sound proof, if you catch my drift. Moreover, the desk chair provided had armrests which were so high that they prevented the chair from being stored under the desk — which made it more or less impossible to walk to the side of the bed it stood on. Design gone wrong, I’m afraid.
Breakfast was OK, but really nothing to write home about.
Nice place to stay when visiting the Bavarian capital if you want to stay at a modern hotel with decent rooms.

Vorweg muss ich sagen dass ich das Hotel nur via einer 2tägigen Tagung kennenlernen durfte aber dort nicht als Gast übernachtet habe.
Das Hotel ist als Gebäude nicht zu übersehen aber ich finde es könnte deutlicher der Hotelname dran geschrieben sein, ich bin zuerst dran vorbeigelaufen aber ich vermute mal die meisten Gäste kommen eh mit der Taxi ins Sofitel.
Der Eingangsbereich ist sehr großzügig angelegt und sehr angenehm finde ich das direkt am Eingangsbereich (neben einer gemütlichen Sitzecke) ein Monitor steht auf dem man sehen kann in welchen Tagungsraum man muss und wo sich dieser befindet.
Man kann aber auch natürlich jemanden von dem Personal fragen das reichlich vorhanden ist. (Pluspunkt!)
Die Veranstaltung zu der ich musste war im Keller, denn dort sind einige Tagungsräume, und diese sind vom Licht sehr angenehm. Auch die Technik hat einwandfrei funktioniert (Ich weiss aber nicht ob Beamer, Mikros, Lautsprecher von dem Hotel waren).
Was ich ein wenig schade finde das es zu wenig Getränke auf den Tischen gab und die auch nur 2x aufgefüllt wurden. (so gab es statistisch, über den ganzen Tag, für jeden am Tisch nicht mal einen Liter zu trinken).
Auch war der Service relativ aufdringlich. Ich verstehe ja das einfach ist mit Wasserkisten durch einen Raum zu rennen um die Getränke aufzufüllen aber man könnte auch einfach die gesamten «Getränkekühler» am Tisch direkt austauschen.
Das ist jetzt jammern auf hohem Niveau aber es ist auch ein 5 Sterne Haus.
Ebenso fand ich es schon etwas mehr als Schade das ab dem Nachmittag bei vielen Toiletten kein Klopapier mehr vorhanden war und man erstmal eine Kabine suchen muss bei der noch Papier vorhanden ist. Sehr oft musste eh Personal zu den Waschbecken um die Stoffhandtücher wieder aufzufüllen. Da könnte man auch nach Klopapier schauen.
Ohne jeden Zweifel hervorragend ist die Küche! Nicht nur die Snacks die es in den Pausen gab sondern auch das Essen zur Mittagszeit war hervorragend! Hier ein großes Kompliment an die Küchencrew.
Am 2. Tag war leider der Service zur Mittagszeit etwas Chaotisch. Wir konnten nicht alle zusammen sitzen und wurden in 2 Räume aufgeteilt. In dem Bereich in dem ich dann zum Buffet «musste» waren einige kleine Tische. Dort setze ich mich direkt hin und hatte schon mit Kollegen angefangen zu essen. Ich wurde dann allerdings SEHR bestimmt aufgefordert zu gehen mit den Worten: «Sehen Sie denn nicht das hier schon für das Frühstück eingedeckt ist? Gehen Sie bitte die Treppen hoch um zu essen».
Ganz ehrlich: da stehen gedeckte Tische neben dem Buffet, also setze ich mich dahin… Und selbst wenn ich einen Fehler mache (und ich verstehe dass das den guten Mann gestresst hat) aber das geht auch freundlicher, gerade in einem 5 Sterne Haus.
Mein Fazit: Für eine Tagung komme ich wieder sehr sehr gerne hierher und das was mir negativ aufgefallen ist, sind Kleinigkeiten die man leicht abstellen kann.
Ich bin sicher die Zimmer und der Wellnessbereich sind auch hervorragend aber das kann ich, wie eingangs erwähnt, nicht beurteilen.

Eines der besten Hotels, in denen ich bisher residieren durfte.
Direkt am Hauptbahnhof gelegen und von außen eher rustikal gehalten, da es sich um ein altes Postgebäude handelt, vermutet das Innere doch überraschend.
Sehr modern, dunkel gehalten, stylish und bis in die letzte Ecke durchdacht.
Der eigene «Sofitel-​Duft» war mir in manchen Ecken schon fast zu intensiv, gehört aber zum Erkennungsmerkmal eines Sofitel.
Zum Zimmer: Das Bett! So gut habe ich lange nicht in einem Hotel geschlafen.
Trotz der sehr zentralen Lage ist es im Zimmer angenehm ruhig.
Das Bad ist ausreichend groß und verfügt über eine fantastische ebenerdige Dusche.
Das Frühstück fiel wohl früher üppiger aus (mein Freund war beruflich «Stammgast» im Sofitel Bayerpost) kann aber trotzdem locker andere Hotels um Längen schlagen. Von Omelett über frische Säfte bis zu Obstsalat ist alles dabei.
Ich komme gern wieder.

to be fair, I haven’t stayed at this hotel I stayed across the street but wished very much I had stayed here instead. What I’m reviewing then is the wonderful customer service and quality of drinks that I experienced while hanging out at the ISArBar!
First of all, you can link into their free WiFi from the bar which I used while I was drinking alone one evening to keep myself entertained.
More importantly, the staff at the bar takes their jobs very seriously and are very experienced as well as attentive. They perform their duties with precision and also a flare of artistry that was a fun bonus. Not only do you get a well made cocktail, you are entertained during the making of it! I didn’t try the cigar menu but if I ever go back I definitely will. Very cool.
Thier bar snacks were wonderful and the dinner menu was delightful. Very high quality and delicious.
The hotel loby and downstairs bathroom area was magnificent. I mean, the towels in the bathroom were heated. Wow!

As others have stated the hotel is essentially directly adjacent to the main Munich train station. While perhaps not the most scenic part of Munich it makes for a very convenient location. As I was traveling in and out of Munich into southern Bavaria by train this hotel served as an extremely convenient base.
The rooms are ample if not large by European standards. The bed could’ve been more comfortable. I deduct one star for a horrible bathroom arrangement. The toilet and shower and sink are all in one small area with a sliding glass door that often would not close.
Internet, while not robust, is now free. If you want more bandwidth you have to pay for it, however, I found the free level of Internet service satisfactory
The restaurant and bar food was good to excellent. Service was impeccable and extremely helpful both at the front desk as well as in the restaurant and bar.
The spa and pool are excellent and not to be missed if staying at the Sofitel.
Depending upon what your needs are in Munich I do not hesitate in recommending this hotel. Again, if you are using Munich as a travel base for Bavaria this hotel would be an excellent choice.

Das Sofitel München liegt direkt am Hauptbahnhof.
Von außen ist das Hotel unscheinbar. Doch innen wirklich sehr schön ausgestattet. Da ich ein Sofitel Fan bin, freue ich mich immer wieder in einem Sofitel dieser Welt zu sein. Denn egal wo ich bin, Sofitel hat diesen Duft… diesen unvergesslichen gleichen Duft in jedem Land gleich. So fühlt sich der Gast sofort heimisch.
Obwohl das Sofitel in MUC direkt am Hbf liegt, ist es nicht laut. Die Fenster sind perfekt isoliert. Die Zimmer sind schön. Die Betten bequem. Die Bar des Sofitels ist im EG, sehr nett. Jedoch nichts besonderes.
Ich vergebe jedoch für das MUC Sofitel nur 4 Sterne. Das liegt allein am Service. Jeder zahlende Gast verdient Aufmerksamkeit. Die fehlte mir im Restaurant und bei der Rezeption.
Sofitel — absolut empfehlenswert.

Das Sofitel hat eine direkte Lage am Hauptbahnhof, was sich durch die Schallisolierung der Fenster in keiner Weise bemerkbar macht. Ich hatte ein Zimmer im 7. Stock.
Die Außenfassade des Hauses lässt ein eher klassisches Interieur vermuten — welches aber eher modern, aber nicht designlastig daherkommt. Der Empfang in der raumfüllenden Empfangshalle ist sehr professionell und freundlich.
Ich hatte ein sehr schönes Zimmer mit einer Ausstattung, die kaum Wünsche offen lässt. Hervorheben möchte ich das hervorragende Bett. Ich habe seit langem nicht mehr so gut schlafen können.
Ergänzt wird die Ausstattung mit einer Bose-​Wave-​Musik-​Anlage, einer Nespresso-​Maschine sowie einem wunderbaren Bad mit rustikalem Steinboden, einer Dusche sowie einer Badewanne.
Empfehlen möchte ich auf jeden Fall den Besuch des Spas im Erdgeschoss (alte Info «Keller» war falsch von mir). Hier erwarten den Gast ein geräumiges Dampfbad, eine Sauna sowie ein schöner Ruhebereich. Die Konstruktion des Pools ist überaus faszinierend in einer Art Schneckengehäuse gestaltet. Im Fitnessbereich findet man ausreichend Laufbänder, einen Crosser, Langhantel, diverse Gewichte, Medizinbälle, ein Kinesis-​Gerät.
Das Frühstück kann durch seine komplette Auswahl überzeugen. Es gibt diverse Brotsorten, eine Auswahl von ca. 10 frischen Frucht– und Gemüsesäften, den besten Milchschaum, den ich bisher kannte, Wunsch-​Omelett, Früchte uvm.

This place is amazing!!! Hands down the nicest facilities, and the nicest people!!! You won’t be disappointed the restaurants are great, the bars are great, if you are disappointed at all, you have issues.

Get past the cabbies hanging out and yelling at each other and drinking near the Hauptbahnhof and a truly great hotel awaits.
The first three days of our trip were to be spent in Bamberg so the Sofitel was kind enough to store a few pieces of our luggage until we could get back.
Once we did get back, the reception noticed I was wearing FC Bayern gear and asked if I was going to the Champion’s League game against Arsenal that day. Alas, I was only going to the game that next Saturday. She directed me to the concierge just to give some ticket finding a shot.
The concierge, in fact, assured us he could get us tickets but the price may be high. After a few calls, he did find options but they were a bit too much. After an hour or so, spent at the biergarten at the Augustinerkeller, he called me up and said we had tickets from a season ticket holder that met our budget. Fantastic. He stuck with it and came through with the goods and that was the highlight of a fantastic trip.
The hotel lobby was nice and modern, all the staff very friendly. The room was gorgeous. Super modern but very comfortable. The Nespresso machines is a nice touch, as always. The shower was very neat, open to the rest of the bathroom in a quasi-​Japanese style sort of way. Great tiling.
The spa was also very cozy and holds one of the best and most unique indoor pools I have seen at a hotel. It is like an underground cave with two main rooms connected by a twisting «tunnel.» The dimly lit nature of it really makes it great. The elevator can take you directly to the spa level if you want to just head out in your robes.
Overall, one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at.

This week, I spent three days at a conference in Munich, all set in the Sofitel Bayerpost. I could make it short by simply stating that every aspect of my stay was excellent, but I think they deserve it that I mention a few especially positive aspects.
First of all — the conference facilities are really good, very spacious, good atmosphere, lots of space on the stage, and fault free technical services. Catering in the breaks was creative, high class, tasty, really good too.
Breakfast is a real treat, everything you like about breakfast is there in abundance and in excellent quality — including some Bavarian specialties like Weisswurst and Brezen.
The service is as good as it gets, in every part of the hotel. I was particularly impressed with receiption personnel. I had bought some really rare cheeses in town and put them in the fridge of the minibar. I put a note on it to remind myself to take it along when I leave. «Don’t forget the cheese.»
Well — next day it was gone. Properly disposed of, as the housekeeping personnel thought. I told reception, they checked, they were really sorry — and immediately sent someone over to Viktualienmarkt to buy the same again for me. This really is outstanding.
The location is perfect, just outside of the Main Station, the rooms are impeccable, the building beautiful and the restaurant excellent — this is a really really good hotel.

Das Hotel ist ja ganz gut, aber der #Service gestern war unterirdisch.
Lange Wartezeit bis die erste Bestellung aufgenommen wurde, eine Bestellung würde vergessen und auf Absprache des Personals gab es erst beim zweiten mal eine eher verschämte Entschuldigung. Und es war nicht zu voll.
Na ja, bei den Preisen?

Die Bar Im Sofitel ist eine meiner Lieblingslocations in München.
Hier geh ich öfter mal auf n Cocktail-​Absacker vorbei. Zu den cocktails gibts immer n kleines Schälchen mit Gewürzoliven und Nüsschen, die auch aufgefüllt werden wenn sie leer sind.
Der Service ist ausgesprochen freundlich. Die Cocktails sind gut gemixt und die Location ist absolut schön.
Im Sommer kann man schön vor der Bar im Freien in loungigen Sesseln sitzen und dem Treiben auf der Bayerstrasse und dem Platz vor dem Hauptbahnhof zusehen.
Die Preise sind etwas höher als im umliegenden Bars. Aber das ist es mir absolut wert.
Sehr empfehlenswert.

Im Grunde exquisit, wenn es nicht den Zwischenfall mit der Reinigungskraft gegeben hätte, die einen anpflaumt, weil man sich erdreistet hat, das Zimmer auf Do Not Disturb zu belassen, obwohl man frühstücken war. Und das war bewusst gesetzt. Unfassbar. Sonst Top Hotel.

Top Business Hotel. Extrem ruhige Zimmer! Mir war nicht klar, das es möglich ist Räume so gut mit dem Blick auf die ICE Strecke zu Isolieren. Suiten sind sehr zu empfehlen

Tolles Hotelextrem schönes Frühstück! Großer Nachteil ist die extrem starke Parfümierung in der Lobby! Warum ist das notwendig???

Exquisites Hotel im Herzen Münchens. Sehr hochwertige Ausstattung und hervorragender Service. Perfekt für Tagungen oder einfach nur zum Übernachten.

Literally beside the Hauptbahnhof (Munich’s central train station), there could not be a more convenient location for weary travelers with large luggage. Arrive at the airport, take the 10.60 Euro train for 30 minutes to the central station, and you have arrived at the Sofitel. The charming old school façade gives way to a modern interior and a small eight story tower of rooms akin to a W in the USA. Our room was nearly identical to one we had a few years ago in the Shangri La hotel in New Delhi – modern, clean, with plate glass window above a large tub that overlooks the sleeping area. The mini bar allows only a small space in the refrigerator for your personal items. The beds are traditional European style – «king» size means two twins tucked together. In the bedroom, a Bose speaker with a remote control has a docking station for all i-​pods and pre-​i-​phone 5 models. Our favorite touch was the Hermes bath supplies.
The lobby is strangely pumped full of a masculine and overpowering sandalwood-​ish scent. It is spacious and there are a few places to sit, though most are in the on-​site café and restaurant areas. Wifi is complimentary and worked fine though we did not test it with heavy bandwith needs. Spa access is included in room charges, and offers a mineral scented steam room and a spacious sauna with adjacent showers – all in the textile free zone. There is a changing area and a small gym that is only marginally adequate for the scale and cost of the property. The gym could use more barbells (they stop at 12 kg). There are a couple treadmills, a couple elliptical machines, a stationary bike, medicine balls, a yoga mat or two, and a few futuristic machines that I could not figure out enough to use.
There is a trolley stop just in front of the train station and the subway stops just below the train station. There is an overpriced grocery store, a Starbucks, a Doner Kebab stand, a bakery and many other food stalls in the train station. Getting to noteworthy restaurants will require a trolley or subway stop or two, but the system is so efficient you will not miss a beat.
We were able to pay in advance to secure a buy 2 nights get one free deal, so our average per night room rate was substantially lower than the published rates – we paid approximately $ 210 USD per night.

Das ist mein Lieblingshotel. So sauber hab ich noch nie ein fünf-​Sterne-​Zimmer bewohnt, in keinem anderen Hotel auf der Welt! Ich habe echt nach Staub gesucht! Die Betten sind ein Traum, super gute Matratzen und sauberes Bettzeug (ich meine nicht den Bezug). Der Service ist sensationell und das Frühstück ist eine Sünde wert. Da ist echt alles was man sich wünschen könnte, der Tee ist nicht in Beuteln sondern lose, man bekommt Kamillenblüten oder Teeblätter, der am Tisch zubereitet wird. Bei mir kam der Service sogar und hat meinen Teefilter (aus Keramik) rausgeholt mit der Info, dass die Ziehzeit erreicht sei! Platt war ich! Ein Koch macht alles, was man sich vorstellen kann, amerikanisch, englisch. alles frisch und soo toll. Sehr ruhige Zimmer trotz Lage am Bahnhof. Eine Sünde wert.

Die Lage ist perfekt, wenn man mit der Bahn kommt, ansonsten schon grenzwertig im Bahnhofsviertel.
Ich persoenlich mag die Bar und das allgemeine Design des Hotels. Der Pool des Wellnessbereichs lohnt einen Besuch, nicht wegen der Moeglichkeit, olympische Bahnen zu siehen (geht nicht), sondern wegen der orginellen Gestaltung. Man kann auch den Gaesten an der Rezeption auf die Fuesse (oder woandershin) schauen, wenn man mag :-)
Wie in allen grossen Muenchener Hotels tummeln sich hier in den Sommermonaten sehr viele «konservative» und wohlhabende Araber, teilweise mit dem entsprechend archaischen Benehmen (die meisten sind aber sehr zurueckhaltend).

What a fancy smancy place this is. Expensive and it shows.
The staff is a bit snooty, but maybe that’s to keep the riff-​raff in their place. The rooms look a bit smallish and dark, but well equipped with lots of tech.
The Isarbar is what got me in the door. Nice setting, nice staff, and they warm up after a bit (maybe the room’s a bit chilly). Good barmen, know their stuff and make a wonderful martini, vodka or gin.
If you’ve got the euros, stay here. If not, come enjoy the bar.

Beautiful hotel — very modern and German (naturally). I came in town for work and this place was suggested to me by co-​workers that are based in Munich. It is located right next to the train station which is extremely convenient… and also surprisingly quiet. The staff was nice, the hotel was impeccable and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!
I can’t say anything about the food because I didn’t eat at the hotel.

I really enjoyed the refreshing Blyss Jaffa Sour Cocktail in their Isarbar. Intensive chocolate flavor and fine notes of oranges. Not a usual creamy chocolate drink, it is something very special and my cocktail of the year!
I can also recommend the Blyss chocolate tart which is also made of the exquisite Single Bean Virgin Chocolate from Arriba. It is a must to try for all chocolate lovers

I stayed at the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost on several occasion, and I was more than happy each time.
The hotel occupies an old 19^th century palace that was refitted with a very modern and chic interior. It is conveniently located next to Munich Main Station and is within walking distance of most of the city’s main tourist attractions. The rooms are fairly spacious and very modern. They come with various technical gadgets like ipod docking stations and flat screen TVs.
The hotel has a beautiful and spacious spa area with a swimming pool like no other hotel I have visited. The whole spa area is fairly dark which gives it a special atmosphere, it houses several saunas and steam baths. Staff is on hand for different types of massages and a small bar offers all sorts of healthy drinks.
The hotel houses two restaurants and a very nice bar. Breakfast is served in the main restaurant. At a price of about 30 EUR, it does not come cheap, but it is worth it. A great selection of local food (cheese, pretzels, white sausages…) accompany the standard offerings.
The staff has always gone out of their way to help which has made the stay especially pleasant.
I can only highly recommend this great hotel !

Das Sofitel Gebäude ist monumental, riesig, auffallend. Das beeindruckende ist der Gegensatz zwischen außen und innen: außen die denkmalgeschützte Fassade, innen hochmodern und stilvoll eingerichtet. Genau das macht wohl auch den besonderen Charme des Hotels aus.
Sofitel gehört zur obersten Klasse von Hotels. Und entsprechend diesem Motto hat es sich das richtige Gebäude ausgesucht — mit ganz viel Klasse und Stil.

Als Tagungssekretärin hab ich so ziehmlich alle größeren Hotels in München näher kennengelernt.
Über dieses Hotel kann ich schreiben, dass es zur Luxusklasse gehört.
Das betrifft den Preis, aber auch die Qualität.
Im Sofitel kann man hervorragend nächtigen, essen, oder große Veranstaltungen abhalten.
Leider ist es mir viel zu groß, was sich bei einem meiner Tagungen als sehr hinderlich erwies.
Die Teilnemer haben né halbe Stunde zum Klo gebraucht oder sind morgens reihenweise in andere Veranstaltungen geplatzt, weil sie ihren Raum nicht gefunden haben.
Ich finde es auch ein bisschen unpersönlich durch die Größe.
Wenn aber richtig große Veranstaltungen macht und die Leute erst mal an ihrem Bestimmungsort angakommen sind, hat man seinen eigenen Bereicht für die Pausen, weil das abgeteilt ist und man dann unter sich ist.
