War mit meiner Frau Mittagessen, wir bestellten kleine Gerichte. Wurden schnell und höflich bedient. Das Essen schmeckte gut. Das Preis/​Leistungsverhältnis in der Altstadt von München war ok. Wir kommen gerne wieder

I ended up eating and drinking here a few times while in Munich. First stop was just for beers at the bar — wandering in here on a hunch during a thunderstorm-​soaked afternoon, and finding solid beers, decent service, and good company at the bar, we stuck around for a few .5l’s. We totally didn’t even realize that we happened to have a dinner reservation for this place that very same night that we had randomly made the day prior. So a few hours (and a nap) later we returned for a meal. Food was tasty, service prompt, and again, beer good.
The following day, looking for a quick, easy place for an early dinner, we stopped back in. This time to try the spaetzle gratin that we had seen going out to a few tables the day prior. Also the pork roast in dark beer sauce. The spaetzle was really quite good. The pork roast tasty, but the potato dumplings were really glutinous. I would have preferred the pretzel dumplings instead. Again, service pretty decent for the area of town we were in.
Overall I’d definitely recommend this place for both meat eaters and vegeterians. They do have a vegetarian menu with a few items, and at least one vegan item. Hard stuff to come by in the land of meat.

Wir waren am 29.04.2016 mit unserer Enkelin im Wirtshaus Ayinger. Glücklicherweise hatte ich einen Tisch bestellt, denn das Wirtshaus war ausgebucht.
Wir hatten unterschiedliche Suppen, Schweinsbraten mit Beilagen und einmal Kasspatzen. Das Essen war exzellent zubereitet und der Service herausragend gut, obwohl das Wirtshaus sehr voll war. Auch die gewählten Nachspeisen waren sehr gut. Dazu wurde das hauseigene Bier getrunken, das ebenso empfehlenswert ist.
Alles in allem, ein gelungener Abend.

Came by here for dinner and beers. They always tell you that you can only have the table for 90 minutes. Good luck getting a meal within 90 minutes, everyone else seemed to be waiting a while too. The service is extremely slow, but the beer is superb. Get whatever comes from the fresh barrel.

Really good beers, great space. Located right across from Hofbrauhaus, but it’s much chiller and more elegant.
Bartenders speak english and are on top of things. Would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Munich.

Der Besuch im Ayinger Brauhaus war durchweg positiv — gutes Bier, nette Bedienung und eine Speisekarte, die etwas mehr Innovation hergibt, als die anderen Brauhäuser, also für jeden Geschmack etwas zu finden (auch vegan oder etwas leichtere Küche). Preise sind angemessen und nicht überteuert. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!

Ambiente ganz nett, Personal freundlich. Aber das Essen hat mich echt — vorsichtig ausgedrückt — überrascht. Ich habe in meinem Leben noch nie Leberkäse mit Kartoffelsalat mit Bratensoße!!! serviert bekommen. Im Ayingers bekommt man das.
Touristen am Nebentisch hatten etwas für uns undefinierbares auf dem Teller. Wir fragten (zugegeben neugierieg) den Kellner was das sei (unser Tipp war Backhendl). Weit gefehlt. Frittierte (ob auch paniert weiß ich jetzt nicht mehr genau) Schweinshaxn! Unglaublich. Ich war überrascht, was offensichtlich typisch Münchnerisch ist. Dem Touristen hat’s geschmeckt.
ich vermute dass die Karte den Geschmäckern der Touristen angepaßt wird, anders kann ich es mir nicht erklären.
Für mich als Einheimischer ist das Ayingers in München keine Alternative. Das Wirtshaus in Aying allerdings schon — da ist die Karte auch dementsprechend authentisch.

This is one of the better traditional German beer halls in Munich. It doesn’t feel overly touristy and there does seem to be a good mix of locals and tourists on any given day.
Their Doppelbock is absolutely incredible.
The service is always friendly. The locals are always approachable. The vibe is also very cool (tons of wood, old world feel).
Oh yea, did I mention their doppelbock?

Fun atmosphere, had the pork knuckle for first time in Germany, was tasty but not the biggest fan, didn’t have any other pork knuckle to compare it too. My wife had a gluten free meal which was chicken poullard, she said was quite bland. Would come back but for the beer rather than dinner

Service und Ambiente haben mir sehr gut gefallen. Punktabzug gab es für Touristen-​Nepp: auf den Tisch wird ungefragt ein Körbchen mit Brezn gestellt und bei Verzehr berechnet. Klar, in der Karte steht, die Breze würde 1 € kosten. Aber welcher ausländische Touri rechnet damit?
Außerdem waren sowohl Gemüse als auch Semmelklöße nicht heiß, noch nicht mal richtig warm. Geschmacklich gab es nichts auszusetzen.

Have stopped here twice now in the last year! Across from the Hof Brau Haus. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorite is the Horseradish soup, beer and a pretzel!

Bayerischer Klassiker. Stets hohe Qualität und faire Preise für die Lage.

Der Viktualienmarkt Salat ist super und sehr zu empfehlen, vor allem an heißen Sommertagen, wenn man sich nicht so vollschlagen will…

We happened to stop in here the first evening we were in Munich. It was the best meal we had in Germany by far!!! Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic! We would go back on the next trip!

Wirtshaus am Platzl, dass nicht nur von vielen Touristen besucht wird. Die Preise sind schon deutlich gehoben, aber die Portionen sind auch sehr groß.
Ich habe mich für Schweinsbraten entschieden. Das Fleisch war gut im Geschmack, aber die Knödel uns Soße haben mich nicht so ganz überzeugt.

Hier trifft sich jung und alt, Touri und Münchener. Man fühlt sich gut betreut, sehr gutes Essen, resche Brezn am Tisch und ein gutes Ayinger Bier. Da stinkt das Hofbräuhaus vis à vis ab. Sehr gutes Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis und professioneller, freundlicher Service. Hier findet man sogar Stoffservietten am Tisch. Immer wieder gerne!!!

We had planned to stop into the HBH, but went here instead. Good choice. Friendly staff, great food and beer. Much quieter and pleasant atmosphere. It felt a lot more authentic and less touristy.
We visited on Mother’s Day and my wife was given a small potted strawberry plant. It made it home and it’s grown into a strawberry garden! It’s a nice reminder of a pleasant meal while in Munich.

Thanks to Rick Steves travel guides for recommending this place right across the street from the famous Hofbrauhaus. This place is much calmer and has a much better food menu, and offers several of the Ayingers beers on draft and cask (unfortunately no beer flights). The waitstaff are friendly, and will translate some of the menu items if you aren’t sure what they are (e.g. the potato soup came with Marjoran — which by the way is a type of herb like rosemary). That soup was quite good, and we shared a huge salad with egg, cucumber, tomatoes (a little too much dressing, so you might want to ask for dressing on the side if you order this same salad). We also shared the roast pork with potato and some sort of bread pudding side which tasted a little like stuffing. The pork was great, like pork loin and comes with a little gravy on it. They also offer you a basket of large bready pretzels to go with your beer as you wait for your meal. I definitely recommend this place.

Übrig gebliebene Marken von der Wies’n einlösen, das stand diese Woche auf dem Programm. Zur Wahl stand das Ayinger Bräustberl oder das Wirtshaus Ayingers. Wir haben uns dann aufgrund der Nähe für letzteres entschieden.
Perfekt gelegen, Magnet für viele Touristen direkt am Platzl.
Das teure Parkhaus konnten wir uns zum Glück sparen, denn wir haben direkt an der Straße einen Parkplatz gefunden.
Beim Betreten des Lokals kam mir spontan: «Nett und rustikal» in den Kopf.
Alles wirkte sehr sauber und gepflegt. Viele Bedienungen, alle freundlich und schnell. So lieben es sicherlich auch die vielen Mittagsgäste. Mittagsgerichte gibt es jeden Tag zwei zur Auswahl für unter 10 €. Okay, ein Schnäppchen ist das nicht.
Auch haben uns die beiden Gerichte nicht überzeugt, sodass sich meine Begleiter entschieden haben für :
Wald und Wies´n Pilze in Kräuterrahm mit Servietten-​Brezenknödel und Schweinsbraten und Ofenfrischer Schweinsbraten vom Nacken und Schulter in Ayinger Dunkelbiersoß mit Kartoffel– und Semmelknödl, dazu Krautsalat
Mich selbst hat das Wiener Schnitzel vom Kalb angelacht und anstatt Bratkartoffeln habe ich Kartoffel-​Gurken Salat gewählt. Manche bezeichnen mich als notorischen Umbesteller, aber vielleicht ist das ja auch nur ein Test, wie flexibel und gut die Küche arbeitet?
Sollte es ein Test gewesen sein, dann hat die Küche ihn mit Bravur bestanden.
Ich hatte übrigens die «normal» Portion gewählt, es hätte noch eine XXL-​Variante gegeben. Also die normale Portion waren 2 mittelgroße Schnitzel und somit wirklich eine große Portion, die kaum zu bewältigen ist. Geschmacklich fand ich es gut.
Auch meine Begleiter waren von den Portionsgrößen positiv überrascht und geschmacklich war es gut.
Was mir aufgefallen ist: Die Saftschorlen sind etwas günstiger als Cola etc. — kann mich nicht erinnern, wann ich das mal gesehen habe.
Die Rhabarberschorle ist übrigens sehr gut und süffig gewesen.
Die Essenpreise sind — ehrlich gesagt — natürlich schon etwas überzogen. Insgesamt würde ich aber dennoch eine Empfehlung geben, wenn jemand in der Stadt nach einen bayrischen Lokal sucht.

If you’re wise enough to look PAST the Hofbrauhaus, you’ll find a much better option just across the way – Ayingers! While you can find their brew in the States at select stores, it pales (literally) in comparison to the small-​batch, unfiltered offerings at their German establishments. Here you can get a reasonably priced and authentic German meal, and enjoy some delicious beer offerings.
We had the turkey goulash and spätzle and were not disappointed. We’ll definitely be back on our next jaunt into Munich, and are sure our families and friends won’t be disappointed here either.

Ja was soll ich sagen. Für Touristen sicherlich aller erste Wahl — mitten in München gegenüber dem Hofbräuhaus und speziell für die, die es nicht in Bierzeltatmo wie gegenüber angehen lassen wollen. Rustikales, gepflegtes Ambiente mit dem Hauch zur Großgastronomie. Sehr viel Servicepersonal — Einweisser, «Schmeckt es gut? — Frager», Kellnerinnen (mit Beleuchtung in der Geldbörse !!!) und wie in München nicht anders zu erwarten sehr vielen Gästen.
Der Service war immer freundlich, es wurde schnell bedient und auch das Essen wurde flott serviert. Das Ayinger Bier muss man nicht groß loben, dass ist sehr süffig und sicherlich die bessere Wahl als gegenüber …
Ich habe mich für einen Schweinsbraten mit Knödeln und (rohem) Kraut entschieden (14,00 Euro). Der Braten war mit dunkler Biersoße verfeinert und hätte nach meinem Geschmack etwas durchwachsener und saftiger sein können, aber da gibt es unterschiedliche Geschmäcker. Die gereichten Knödel haben jedoch noch erhebliches Potential — sehr klein und auf keinen Fall frisch zubereitet — ein Kartoffelknödel und ein bayerische Semmelknödel, die viel zu hart waren und der Soße nicht wirklich das «Wasser» reichen konnten. Schade — sonst hätte es einen Punkt mehr gegeben.
Zusammenfassend: Für Touristen authentisch, ich kenne aber auf dem Lande bessere bayerische Küche, ohne 9 Euro im Parkhaus lassen zu müssen — aber des is’ halt Minga.

Sehr nettes Lokal. Ich hatte den bunten Salatteller mit geschmolzenem Bavaria Blu und Putenbruststreifen. Die Portion war mehr als ausreichend. Die Brezeln die es zum Salat gab, waren noch warm und sehr knusprig.
Obwohl die Gaststätte in der Tourihochburg am Platzl liegt, lohnt sich ein Besuch auf jeden Fall.

Ein Stern Abzug gibt es für die Bedienung, die sah nicht sehr motiviert aus.

Zum wiederholten Male hervorragend gegessen. Die Preise sind angemessen, die Bedienungen sehr freundlich (auch zu Touristen, soweit ich das mitbekommen habe). Wir kommen wieder.

Brauhauskultur am Münchner Platzl Lage.
Top Lage (Schubecks, Hofbräuhhaus etc) das ist nie günstig und nie ein verstecktes Plätzchen.
Gutes Brauhaus mit ordentlicher Kultur. Gute Speisen, etwas überhöhte Preise, sehr gute Top City Lage, traditioneller Platz (Spider Murphy Gang hat die Rotlicht Historie besungen: viele in Muc wissen das garnicht;))) Der Service: sicherlich auf viele Touristen eingestellt. ich glaube nicht das hier viele Münchner herkommen. aber ich finde das der Service einiges an Optimierungspotential besitzt. Freundlichkeit etwas gestellt, etwas zu langsam, etwas zu wenig von Allem. Aber für nen Abend ausreichend. Mein sehr später Salat mit Fleischstreifen war sehr lecker! Das Helle dito. etwas insgesamt zu teueraber so whates war ok

I came here after a brief visit to the HBH and I am glad I spent most of my evening here instead of there! The older gentleman running the bar was quirky and friendly. He also spoke great English and offered me a sample of some incredible schnapps when I inquired about this giant, mysterious bottle that he was pouring from on occasion.
The beer was incredible and frothy, so full of flavor. Pure and clean. They have six packs of the lager or wheat to go for very nice prices. 12 oz bottles.
The space is great and inviting. It is one of the more personal and relaxing spots in Munich that I visited.

After stopping several afternoons for a weiss beer we finally went for dinner one night. Was a bit crowded but the food was very good. I had a pork knuckle which they did «schnitzel style» that was huge and delicious! Also, the place was a mere 2 blocks from our hotel which was another plus. Definitely recommend you give this place a try.

I’ll admit, I’m a fan of Ayinger beer, definitely much more so than the more famous Hofbrau across the street. Although Hofbrau certainly has its touristy, kitschy charms, Ayingers Inn is more subdued in atmosphere, while still enjoying some of the best beer German has to offer. Personally, I stuck to Dunkel for the additional flavor and sweetness. The husband enjoyed several 0.5L of the cask lager, which was also light, refreshing, with a hint of the cask wood. The bartenders were tourist-​friendly and happy to suggest off-​menu choices. It’s a definite must-​hit on my return to Munich, especially if I can hit up the Celebrator or the Oktoberfest.

We wound up at Ayingers after the other restaurant in the hotel we wanted to go was closed… and I’m so glad it was!
It’s in a busy/​touristy location across from the Hard Rock and Hofbrauhaus, which I appreciated since it was our first night in town. I’m not a beer drinker, but the fella was pretty impressed with their beer; I went straight for the German Riesling, which was delicious.
Our waiter was so pleasant and quick, and I had the fried turkey for dinner. What I got seemed more breaded than actually fried (which was a good thing), and the vegetables it came with were delicious. I loved the dark, cozy feel, and it seemed like it could’ve been a local sort of bar, except for the touristy location.

This became our favorite restaurant while staying in Germany. If you’re not fussy about sitting in the dining room, grab a stool at the bar so you can chat with Adrian and Leo, the bartenders. Try the Boeuf ala Mode with their signature Ayinger Celebration Ale. Top notch Bavarian treat!!!

when you are at the hofbrauhaus, be sure to look right across the way and stop in here. you will be happy you did.

Sehr gut und sorgfältig zubereitete Speisen. Aufmerksamer Service. Für Bierfreunde viele verschiedene Sorten. Das Interieur ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Der Gast kann sich wohlfühlen und wird höflich, sowie zuvorkommend bedient.

Some of the better Bavarian food around Munich, in my opinion.
Portions are slightly smaller than some places (this is not a bad thing) and overall very well executed.
Service is prompt and slightly more cordial than I usually find in Munich.
It’s also nice to try a different beer — if you’re feeling like you’re in a rut with The Big Munich Six (Augustiner/​Hofbrau/​Spaten/​Louwenbrau/​HackerSchorr/​Paulaner) …

First things first: I can’t stand Ayinger beer. It tastes off to me. So I was a somewhat disappointed when my friends visiting from out of town for the Champions League Finale told me that we had a reservation here for dinner.
Then, I tasted goodness. No, not the beer, we covered that already. The FOOD. Put five hungry men at a table, make each of their dishes more sumptuous than the next, and imagine the elaborate tricks and stunts we pulled trying to steal off each other’s plates while at the same time guarding our own.
The Obazda, that venerable institution of Bavarian snacking, is very noteworthy here. Piquant, savoury, rich with flavour, it was the perfect opening act for the pleasures to come. I have had better Obazda, but this one is still top notch.
The standout star of the meal was definitely the Schweinebraten in Dunkelbiersoß’ (pork roast in dark beer sauce). Two months later, my mouth still waters, and my nose and palate still fill with savoury and garlic when I think of that Braten. It had the kind of sauce that is so beautiful, were you eating at home alone, you’d lick your plate clean and growl at intrusions like phone calls or text messages. The two of us who had ordered the Schweinebraten obeyed social conventions, and sopped it up with Brezn instead. I cannot express the pain of watching someone finish all that delicious sauce when all you want is just one more taste… or maybe two…
I had ordered the Brotzeitbrett’l for a lighter meal. The meats were all nicely flavoured, and I got to enjoy a little more Obazda (which I used to barter for some Dunkelbiersoße). It was, in short, a nice overview of Bavarian meats and treats that didn’t weigh me down.
Another had ordered the Riesenschnitzel vom Kalb (giant veal schnitzel). He seemed really pleased. I probably would have more to say about the schnitzel morsel I stole from him if I weren’t so distracted by the Schweinebraten and its sauce. My friend ordered the extra side salad to go with it too, and as a side salad it looked pretty good.
And finally, there was the Zwiebelrostbraten. That was very good for what it is, but having grown up on American beef, I was underwhelmed by the meat. But that can’t really be fixed anywhere in Munich.

Preise sind der Lage angemessen, aber noch verschmerzbar.
Sehr aufmerksame freundliche Bedienung.
Essen hervorragend. Hatten Schweinsbraten und Brauerschnitzel. grosse Portionen und alles sehr gut angemacht und dekoriert.
Nur zu empfehlen !!!

This is a nice place across from Hofbrauhaus. It’s a more family restaurant style rather than a beer hall. The bar is ample with a few great beers.

Gutes Münchner Wirtshaus. Die Qualität ist für ein Haus dieser Größe, dass sicher auch stark von Touristen lebt ordentlich. Natürlich nicht vergleichbar mit der Qualität die man in der Pfistermühle erhält, die zum selben Unternehmen wie das Ayinger gehört. Die Preise sind für Münchner Verhältnisse in Ordnung.

Schwer zu glauben, dass es sich ausgerechnet hier findet — aber wenn nicht das, dann mindestens eines der besten Schnitzel der Stadt!
Ich rate allerdings dringend zum Kellerbier statt des normalen Hellen. ;)

Mal Hand aufs Herz, wer erwartet denn schon eine Sterneküche in einem typisch Münchner Innenstadt Lokal? Langweilige Speisen? Was ist das?
Alle Münchner Innenstadt Lokale mit Brauerei Anschluß, sind doch irgenwie austauschbar. Also entscheidet nur das Ambiente ob man nun zum Ayinger oder zu sonst wem geht. Wir gehen eben zum Ayinger aber nicht in den drei Sommermonaten, weil natürlich der Service und die Küche auf Fließband Kundschaft eingestellt sind. Ansonsten ein gutes Preis-​Leistungsverhältniss. München eben, können sich andere ein Scheibe abschneiden.

Ein super Wirtshaus. Centrale Lage, sehr gute Bedienung, super Essen zu einem sehr guten Preis, Brotzeitplatte ist bis jetzt die beste in der Stadt

sehr schönes Holz-​Ambiente das aber erst richtig zur Geltung kommt wenn er Laden gut besucht ist.

Sehr sauber und modern.
SPEISENKARTE :
sehr ansehnliche bayrische Karte da ist für jeden was dabei.
SERVICE :
Das Servicepersonal ist sehr nett, flink und informativ. Perfekt !!!

QUALITÄT DER SPEISEN /​GETRÄNKE :
Bier im Steinkrug ist natürlich sehr lässig, obwohl man generell aufpassen sollte das auch gut eingeschenkt wird, aber hier war’s perfekt.
Ich esse normalerweise aus traumatischen Erfahrungen nirgendwo Hackfleisch, aber irgendwie war es mir danach.
Die Fleischpflanzerl und der Kartoffelsalat waren frisch und wirklich sehr gut.
REZENSION :
Wenn man (n) die Portionsgröße unseres Essens im Maßstab zum Preis nimmt, dann ist dieses Gericht uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert.
ZUM ABSCHLUSS :
Ins Ayinger ??? Jederzeit wieder !!!
